🍿 A Website for watching movie trailers: coming-soon-ish.com

Posted by fbglima

My wife loves movie trailers... used to easily spend an hour on the old Apple TV trailers app. I actually spent a few years trying to avoid watching any trailers, but that's another story... Made this website for her that treats movie trailers like a TV channel of sorts : ) [https://coming-soon-ish.com](https://coming-soon-ish.com) Let me know if you think there's anything I should add! Happy watching

Genuinely curious: how is your platform better than just searching YouTube?

This seems like a movie trailer live stream, described it as tv channels

haha, honestly surprised by these replies but appreciate the earnest question! list is long but for me... it was about creating an experience somewhere between watching trailers at the cinema and a broadcast TV channel. You visit and you're just served trailers, newest first, no context, no ads, nothing intruding on the experience. everything is designed to reduce interaction — keyboard controls for the minimal things you can do. the curation is a big part of the service too. sure, you can manually search for individual trailers on YouTube, or maybe you subscribe to a playlist that's good about adding new releases with decent taste — but i'll submit that my taste is better : ) plus, the ability to quickly search letterboxd to add things to my watchlist or see what people are saying about a movie is just... handy.

Just adding some feedback that the “next” and “random” buttons aren’t working for me (I’m on an iPhone). It skipped to the next trailer at one point when I touched the screen (not the “next” button), but I don’t know if that’s a bug or a delay. I suppose a site like this might be a draw for people who don’t want to choose and just want to be served trailers (as you say, like watching trailers before a move), but personally I’d like to at least be able to choose my preferred genre, sort of the way YouTube would recommend trailers.

I think YouTube is enough for watching movie trailers.

Entirely inaccessible slop. Edit: where are the captions? How do people pause the video or use basic playback controls like scrubbing?
