Never saw the OG, but I think the wraparound (like pre-wish and then at the end) is set in 1987. Assuming this comes out next year, the wraparound would be 2010.

Crazy that I am old enough to have my favorite movie, that I first watched when I was 13, rebooted. Is this how my mom felt???! I am so conflicted because I do love me so Logan Lerman as a true Percy Jackson girly.
