“Used a leaf blower in a Culver’s restaurant the night before” lol well on their way to being a “Florida man”.
1215
chef-nom-nom 1 day ago +192
They should get ordered to do a few hundred hours of community service lawn care.
192
Even-Consideration-3 13 hr ago +11
Full offense meant to these individuals but I wouldn’t want either of them doing my lawn with seeing what they constitute as a good haircut.
11
Warcraft_Fan 1 day ago +53
Nip them in the bud, try to do a lobotomy on those idiots before they become full blown Florida man such as naked humping of a construction barrel on a busy freeway or running around freeing fish from local aquarium by smashing the tanks.
53
Urbandragondice 1 day ago +23
Sadly too late. They probably had to use the lawn mower because their parents had taken away their bloody golf cart.
23
HauntedCemetery 1 day ago +10
I have to assume the golf cart is bloody for exactly the Florida reason you would think, roadkill polo
10
Salt_Day4586 1 day ago +13
Insane overreaction. They’re shithead teens, nothing about this warrants a lobotomy.
13
Hell-Yea-Brother 19 hr ago +2
...oddly specific.
2
SunshineAlways 17 hr ago +2
And of course there was immediately a pop up ad for Culver’s, blocking the story.
2

Florida teens, soon to become Florida Man before they know it. Parents must be proud.

The raccoon and gator that raised them could not be reached for comment.

If there was a drug that caused people to do what social media algorithms get them to do we would be having a 1980s level drug war going on now.
6
purpleplatapi 23 hr ago +6
I mean my grandfather has stories about pranking his teachers back in the 60s. I guess a teacher drove a Volkswagen Bug and they flipped it on its roof and ran away. I think teenagers have maybe just always been like this. Because there certainly wasn't social media back then.
6
CptVague 19 hr ago +2
Poor impulse control and you're given enough freedom to do more silly shit. Tale as old as time.
2

This is sort of funny in a for research kind of way . As long as nobody gets hurt.
52
Fallouttgrrl 1 day ago +31
I feel like "lawnmower accessibility throughout our store" is more of a Walmart vibe than a Target vibe, TBH
31
hera-fawcett 1 day ago +16
targets gone to shit since precovid. their prices are high, their products are just as shit as walmart, and they still expect u to want to go in and drop money. they aint shit, so ppl have begun treating them as such
16
TheDrAlbrhect 1 day ago +14
And the self-checkout attendants will scan a three year old as if they suspect they're hardened train robbers, like they were told there’s a scout for secret service agents watching them or whatever and this could be their big chance.
14

They should run for governor. Or why stop there? One has funky looking orangish hair, no?

In my day, Florida Men took stolen lawnmowers for joyrides just for the fun of it. Didn't need no social media to be proper dumbasses! (True story, a Florida ex of mine was arrested for stealing a lawnmower while on acid in the 90s.)

They took stolen lawnmowers for rides to the (liquor) store let's be honest now. It was "for the fun of it" because they weren't on the way back from the store.

Maybe this one is, but far before this web influencer thing, dumb people have done dumb things. I saw a young adult (speed-)skateboarding inside a train, from the front cargo to the last.

Of all the “Florida” things riding a lawnmower through target sounds incredibly tame

Ride an alligator through Target or get the hell out of Florida!
50
Dramatic-Tell- 1 day ago +3
If you're not taking a gator to Wendy's then what are you doing as a Florida man. Excuse me, Ralph the alligator is in need of a frosty.
3
Urbandragondice 1 day ago +5
Probably because their parents had taken away the golf cart for their own reasons. If you live here in Florida especially in certain communities you can grow to hate teenagers running around on these souped up golf carts.
5

oh I'm sorry. I thought this was America.

This is the least heinous crime committed in Florida today. I saw a billboard that said something along the lines of ‘Remember she is your daughter not your date even if you are drunk’ when driving through Florida. It’s a scary place
48
chris_redz 1 day ago +5
What? For real? As a European I’m having trouble to understand. So men abusing their daughters when drunk?

I’m from North America and it surprises me too. I don’t know any details on the situation. I was in Florida for work related reasons, and happened to drive by the billboard.

I spent 3 years in south Georgia (military so not by choice) and nothing about Florida surprises me

That's worse than the bondsman sign I saw advertising a "Father's Day Special" for bail, on the side of the downtown Memphis jail.

The controversy is that they're from Georgia. They're being charged with cultural appropriation.
52

I mean, is that even news in Florida? Unless they were also on bath salts and bit an old lady's face off, this is hardly newsworthy.
72

I mean, they didn’t even throw any alligators at anyone.

I dunno, my mind immediately conjured up that scene from MadMen with them riding the lawnmower in the office.

My first reaction was “I’m glad to see some teens are getting out of the house.”
21
ZenAdm1n 1 day ago +8
You jest but I've noticed in my city, wherever teens congregate is immediately considered a nuisance. People demand it must stop. Then the business establishes rules to stop it. Movie theaters, mini golf, malls... All the places I used to go as a teen now ban unaccompanied minors. Where can they go have fun anymore?
8
shakeyshake1 1 day ago +3
That actually was my initial reaction. News about teen mischief used to be much more commonplace.   I don’t have any solutions.

3

Is this like a tiktok challenge? I was at Target this afternoon and 4 teens were wearing full BMX gear and riding the display bikes around. I left before it escalated.
3
JK_NC 1 day ago +3
Sooner or later, local governments should consider adding “social media enhancements” to criminal charges. Similar to gun enhancement laws that bring harsher penalties if guns are used in the commission of a crime, if a crime is committed for the sake of social media, it would add additional penalties in an effort to disincentivize these reckless stunts.

6

I’ve never seen a law that says you can’t drive a lawnmower in a target store. It’s almost like one of those electric scooters, but with more horsepower and a little louder.

Ain't no rule says a lawnmower can't play basketball

Woah. Did the irl beavis and butthead forget to listen to the warning jingle before the show? "Some of the things they do would cause a person to get hurt, expelled, arrested, possibly deported. To put it another way, DON'T try this at home". Yet, they still copied the Anderson lawnmower episode.

Maybe we're missing a bit more detail but was arrest really necessary? Were they actively destroying property or threatening to harm people? I mean, sure, call the cops to have them kicked out and maybe have them banned from the store, but something about this strikes me as being something of a waste of the time of the court system. To have them arraigned, receive bond and stand before a judge for something this stupid just doesn't sit right with me.
3
snakeayez 1 day ago +3
After seeing the video, I agree. It was daytime and they did kinda ram the doors a bit but didn't really endanger anyone

2
MinistryOfCoup-th 1 day ago +4
I'd never disrespect Target like that. They have the smoothest shopping carts. The conspiracy part of me thinks they have the best shopping carts because you are less likely to be looking down at a wonky wheel and it's easier to capture your face on camera for their facial recognition technology.
4
ToNoMoCo 1 day ago +3
I get a little thrill when I get a really smooth and straight rolling cart that is only equaled to my frustration when I have to settle for a shitty rolling one. What I'm saying is target has a lot of pictures of me looking smug
