I think they've been in the pipeline for a while. they started accelerating once trump came into power. also countries tend to announce an FTA 6-12 months before they end up getting officially signed and implemented so you tend to get like 2-e announcements/updates on diff FTA's thru out the year

This is the way. No threats, insults or reneging on deals because someone made a speech the bruised the great leaders ego. Countries have no choice but to diversify trade and reduce reliance on the China and the US. It will take decades but it has to start somewhere.

Canada’s FTA with India is happening soon. Carney will not allow Khalistani separatists to dictate Canadian’s foreign policy anymore like they were under Trudeau.

I hope Trudeau take retirement and never come back to spoil relations

The Canadian estabilishment including the media, law enforcement and politicians are fully commited to India's destruction. I hope Carney will be successful though.

That 20 billion investment thing is going to get interesting if India thinks its an actual realistic goal, because there is no universe where we have that sort of capital to invest.

This is the most realistic concern here. $20B headline sounds huge, but spread across 15 years it’s \~$1.33B/year; hard but not absurd. The real question is execution.

Yeah but that's an investment from NZ to India. NZ is a small country, 5.35M pop. I'm not sure what they plan to invest on? Especially since they keep losing people to Australia.

I don't know if that's quite the type of foreign direct investment the deal had in mind but it works for me 🤣.

Tbh whenever such deals are announced i always assume the numbers are inflated but there will be a tangible increase in trade and postive trade relations between the countries

That's 20 billion that NZ will invest in India.

racist people are so dumb. TRADE BAD!!! # New Zealand Gains: * **Market Access:** Tariffs eliminated or reduced on **70% of product lines** entering the Indian market. * **Agricultural Exports:** Lower duties (via quotas) for key exports like **apples, kiwifruit, and manuka honey**. * **Services Expansion:** Access to 106 Indian service sectors, providing a major footprint in one of the world's fastest-growing economies. You need this buddy, people dont even bother to put on the world map. Its good that your government is trading with G20 economies to stay relevant.
