Multiple accounts obtained by PREMIUM TIMES indicate that the attackers arrived at a local beer parlour on Sunday evening, mixed with other patrons, before suddenly opening fire.

One of the primary responsibilities of a government is to protect its citizens. Nigeria seems to be getting worse at that in recent years.

Most likely fundamentalist extremists. Jos is a large city over 300 km from the nearest international border. It is home to a well-known university. So this is not some remote border settlement. That makes this more concerning.

This region of Nigeria is very volatile; there’s frequent clashes between Christian and Muslim farmers and it’s a hot-bed for extremist/militant groups. Security Forces have supposedly been “spread thin” trying to keep the peace.

Yes, the victims were Christian.
