Ok against all hate I’ve seen on this movie, I finally watched 6 underground after 7 years. I think it was fun. Did it have its problems??? Of course. I’ve seen so many parts where I’m wondering what’s up with physics, or I’ll see damage to a car one minute then baam, gone. I think it was a fun, unique action movie. I liked the small character building, the action sequences were amazing, even after 7 years.
They really need to give this film another shot at a sequel. I’m going to give it a solid 7.7/10. What are your thoughts?????
I add to the “would watch on a plane” lists. Not winning awards but entertaining enough

I think that’s a great way to describe it honestly

It suffers from the Blade problem, which is that the opening is so much better than the rest of the movie that follows. And while Blade is fully watchable all the way through and is never boring, 6 Underground really struggles to maintain interest, tone or consistency between the opening and closing set pieces.

I will normally watch anything at or above a 5 on IMDB these days. It was a satisfying movie, just nothing special, but no complaints really. Was basically what was expected.

All I remember is some actor who was in all the trailers dies like ten minutes into the film.

Honestly same. It’s not “good” good but it’s entertaining which counts. Action was clean, pacing was wild, characters were decent enough. I’d watch a sequel ngl.

I liked it, but the tone was a little off. It’s like they couldn’t commit to just being a fun over the top action movie so there’s all this maudlin heavy stuff sprinkled throughout which didn’t work for me at all. Lots of great scenes though

Also recently watched this. Here, finally, we have definite proof of something I’d guessed at from time to time over the years: that Michael Bay is absolutely, 100% a psychopath.
I walked away from the movie completely disturbed by the experience, but unable to fully voice what exactly it was that got to me. I think it’s a combination of unsavory humor, nauseating cuts, endless visceral violence (most of which involves innocent civilians- the body count must have been in the hundreds, but none of the good guys seemed to mind) and frantic, coked-out plot-line. Take everything you dislike about Michael Bay and turn it up to 11. There are flashbacks and flash-forwards. Text and numbers jump off the screen. It’s like Smoking Aces on acid. Everyone yells, the intensity is always at 100, and because of that nothing ever lands and there is never a payoff.
But I should note there is a pretty cool 5-minute scene toward the end with magnets, so it has that going for it, I guess. Eventually the movie resolves itself, but I don’t recall how. All of it is technically a movie, in a Tommy Wiseau way. But agreed with others- definitely do yourself a favor and watch the insane (and not in a good way) 20 minute opening scene.

Nauseating cuts is right. The editing drove me insane. Awful

Best first 10 minutes to any action movie ever. I usually turn it off after that.

Aww I loved the pool scene and the end scene. I thought it was pretty good paced with great action at the start…. And really good action the rest of the way thru.
