I swear this timeline is a prison

At least Colbert keeps sneaking us contraband jokes through the bars. Honestly, late-night monologues feel like mandatory group therapy at this point.

John Oliver and Colbert are keeping me alive at this point.

jormugandr Apr 14, 2026 +2
I hope you'll be ok. Because they're probably both going to be gone before too long. David Ellison is going to clean house as soon as the merger goes through.

Olangotang Apr 15, 2026 +5
Oliver prints money for HBO. He's not going anywhere.
5
The_Frostweaver Apr 15, 2026 +2
Well, he prints Emmys and his show doesn't cost $20 million per episode. It would certainly be hard to justify firing him but that doesn't mean he is safe. The whole point of right wing oligarchs buying twitter and television is to burn billions to influence elections. Trump seems to hate watch Jimmy Kimmel but he doesn't mention John Oliver much. I'm hopeful John Oliver makes it though.

Hello-there-7567 Apr 16, 2026 +3
I wonder if John Oliver is too cerebral /too high energy for him. I don’t think he’d get half the jokes Oliver does because they are in such rapid fire.

ExF-Altrue Apr 15, 2026 +1
You should try an extra dose of John Stewart! It goes a long way too!

Low_Search_6667 Apr 14, 2026 +12
Amen. The monologs are what's keeping me going

> At least Colbert keeps sneaking us contraband jokes through the bars. "Jokes," LOL. Colbert stopped being comedy long ago. The only reason any of you care for him is that he validates your political idiocy...which to be fair to you is kinda the only reason some people like Kid Rock.
-39
GotEggs Apr 14, 2026 +14
The only reason we care for him is because he validates our political idiocy? The f*** does that mean, and why throw kid rock in there? Just say you do your own research and you don’t like humor, it would’ve been easier.
14
jubbergun Apr 14, 2026 -9
> Just say you do your own research Imagine faulting people for investigating a subject and reading while thinking you're the intellectual. > you don’t like humor I do like humor, which is why I miss the old, pre-propagandist Colbert and can't tolerate cringe-inducing nonsense like *The Vax Scene*, which was embarrassing when it aired and aged like warm milk.

Boggie135 Apr 14, 2026 +7
>The only reason any of you care for him is that he validates your political idiocy. Do you think only Americans watch Colbert?
7
jubbergun Apr 14, 2026 -11
Do you think Americans are the only ones with stupid politics?
-11
Boggie135 Apr 14, 2026
No, I know that Colbert is an American, who hosts and American show on an American network

I learned about Quantum Immortality the other day, and I'm convinced I died at some point and am in an alternate, less statistically likely universe.

dirtyjavis Apr 15, 2026 +3
I too think of this often. There's no way I'm in the body I was in just 7-8 years ago and there's no way the government can be this nakedly corrupt. We're in purgatory or hell

IsabellaGalavant Apr 15, 2026 +2
We're living in the Darkest Timeline.

The true detective flair is like icing on your comment
11
Morgan-Moonscar Apr 14, 2026 +6
Whatever happened to flair on here?
6
SirGaylordSteambath Apr 14, 2026 +1
I think it depends on the sub. I’ve seen smaller more community-like subs where basically every user has a flair This being a main sub though most users wouldn’t have interacted with the feature for this sub Edit: actually I just checked and they’re disabled here, idk why

She's a legend
11
IsabellaGalavant Apr 15, 2026 +3
The makeup department absolutely nailed the look too, give them a raise.
3
Greatsnes Apr 15, 2026 +4
Why do people always want to give someone a raise for doing their basic job description lmao.
4
Built4dominance Apr 15, 2026 +1
Because if you're not a rich person in America, you need every raise you can get to survive.
1
Greatsnes Apr 15, 2026 +1
I mean I feel like that’s a different conversation. Like I’m not gonna tell the person at McDonalds “Thanks for handing me my bag, you should get a raise!” Idk I just find it weird people always do this with the most benign stuff. If someone goes above and beyond then I understand. But for the bare basics of their job?

DidntSeeNuttin Apr 14, 2026 +47
Do we know if she stole this from Michelle Obama as well?

Jkay064 Apr 14, 2026 +33
No dahlink, I did not steal; it vas Moose and Squirrel.

GeorgiaOKeefinItReal Apr 14, 2026 +11

Who is that actress? Melania wishes she could look that fantastic
40
RealSunglassesGuy Apr 14, 2026 +70
Laura Benanti

Morgan-Moonscar Apr 14, 2026 +40
She's basically played parody Melania for Colbert since 2016.
40
DrewDan96 Apr 14, 2026 +19
i am really going to miss her Melania segments once Colbert goes off the air next month. because Melania really doesn't say/do a whole lot publicly, this impression to me is kinda like Tina Fey/Sarah Palin, where the quality of the impression and the tics/embellishments that the impersonator uses actually overshadows the actual person. her model face poses and the "ma-husband" word contraction always makes me laugh
19
MikeRowePeenis Apr 14, 2026 +4
“Maddy Creasemoose!”
4
Boggie135 Apr 14, 2026 +3
Is she also a stage actor?
3
AlmostLucy Apr 15, 2026 +2
Definitely. Look up her doing a song called “Model Behavior” for a hilarious intense stream of consciousness rant.
2
ekydfejj Apr 14, 2026 +2
Thank you, this should be higher, i have to look up more of her stuff!! So damn good
2
RealSunglassesGuy Apr 14, 2026 +7
She is a pretty big in the NYC theater scene and has done a decent amount of TV.
7
archercc81 Apr 14, 2026 +4

4
bomilk19 Apr 14, 2026 +5

5
vroart Apr 14, 2026 +4
She’s so good
4
CTRLALTWARRIOR Apr 14, 2026 +8
I'm going to miss her cracking Stephen up with her improv. To a larger point, I already miss this show.

It's crazy to think this actress is from Mayor of Kingstown lol
2
Phydorex Apr 15, 2026 +2
My sanity is going to end when this show does.
2
VenusValkyrieJH Apr 14, 2026 +2
She is far more beautiful and speaks better than the First Lady lol. What a great impression. Also, I want off this ride. It’s not fun

vicarooni1 Apr 14, 2026 +4
This being alive in this timeline is the equivalent of breathing into a paper bag to try to stave off a panic attack.
4
RheaSloane Apr 18, 2026 +1
honestly... its kinda wild how things keep unfolding, right? i hope things get better for everyone involved... :)

Well done!

I know people on here will disagree but these parody’s just don’t land at all anymore. It’s the same with SNL. There isn’t anything funny about the current admin

They probably love the extra attention tbh

razz-boy Apr 14, 2026 +1
I’m happy to provide the extra attention to them being pedophiles that you believe they love! They may enjoy it but my MAGA family sure HATES it

I loved it. So funny! That ho deserves worse

That's what comedy is. We poke fun at how ridiculous and absurd real life is.  Sorry you don't like it.
-9

Not saying other people can’t enjoy it. I just don’t anymore

SNL UK skit is much better. It's like Americans don't understand Melania as well. https://youtu.be/X_Y4ZgrXwnc?si=0BLlPHx2Khbj7fA5

The tea is exceedingly good and therefore everything else falls into place.

volinaa Apr 14, 2026 -10
they didnt self destruct their own empire at least. f*** the british empire just to be clear
-10
OhItsBeenBroughten Apr 14, 2026 +2
… yes they did. Are you familiar with why they couldn’t mount a successful quelling of the American colonies’ rebellion?
2
volinaa Apr 14, 2026 +1
ok, but not their second british empire!

CBS should stop pushing fake news like this.

Satire is fake news. That's kind of the point.
