The Mormon swinger with multiple assault allegations wasn’t the right bachelorette? Shocker

Hungry-Atmosphere22 Mar 26, 2026 +21
Swinger?? I need the tea on this
21
vivikush Mar 26, 2026 +32
That’s the only reason they’re famous. From what I gather, she and her ex husband used to do “soft swinging” where you go to an o*** and only f*** your husband and she cheated on him and admitted it on Tik Tok which sent shockwaves through the Mormon mom influencer community.
32
playalovesong Mar 26, 2026 +25
Lmao going to an o*** is the first step to being in an o***
25
buntopolis Mar 26, 2026 +3
Yeah it’s not really a spectator sport

JackHandsome99 Mar 26, 2026 +47
They get together and swap wives and kiss. I’m not kidding, that’s actually it and it’s arguably weirder than just banging each other’s wives.
47
Hungry-Atmosphere22 Mar 26, 2026 +21
Was this something shown on Mormon wives or is it just common knowledge?? Edit: Oh god I just read the article. Wtf Mormon people just make up their own goddamn rules
21
Hot_Aside_4637 Mar 26, 2026 +13
They make up loopholes. Like "soaking"
13
Automatic_Ad4016 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Lmao boring rules amirite?
1
Colemania18 Mar 26, 2026 +1
That has absolutely nothing to do with the church and neither does soaking which isn't a real thing
1
shinra_soldiers Mar 26, 2026 +19
The whole reason Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was made was because Taylor Frankie Paul went viral back in 2021 for being a swinger and breaking up a marriage because the guy she swinged with said he loved her (she also ended up divorcing her then husband.) She posted a TikTok admitting to it/exposing the other swingers.

astrobagel Mar 26, 2026 +7
To be fair being the Bachelorette means you’re dating 20+ guys at once on TV, so I don’t think the swinger part is a dealbreaker.
7
Greedy-Pilot-4538 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Right? They coudnt vet anyone else??
1
rwags2024 Mar 26, 2026 +1

1
Toothless-In-Wapping Mar 26, 2026 +1
Mormon dongs

gaanmetde Mar 26, 2026 +412
I feel like lately there’s been an open Maury-fication of most television. These dating shows used to at least pretend they were genuinely showcasing well-meaning people looking for love. Now it’s just mask off.

Special-Garlic1203 Mar 26, 2026 +214
Reality tv in its early days was producers taking advantage of the average persons naivety. Now people have wised up and largely the only people willing to do them are themselves pretty gnarly people. It's kind of broken the concept Imo. I loved reality TV growing up and watch 0 of it now.

VenusAmari Mar 26, 2026 +71
If you enjoy the old reality tv, I recommend watching House of Villains. It's got the old school vibe. But it's casting is reality tv villains (including old school names like currently New York and Drita are on it) and they're in on the joke and it's high camp. Think the old "of love," shows. Hosted by Joel McHale.

carrieberry Mar 26, 2026 +24
Instant win with Joel McHale
24
TacosAreJustice Mar 26, 2026 +21
Holy c***. In.
21
biblioteca4ants Mar 26, 2026 +5
wtf right?! I’m watching this immediately!
5
ripyourlungsdave Mar 26, 2026 +4
Okay, but New York is a legitimately abusive, shitty person. I don't know why she's still getting work.
4
huskersax Mar 26, 2026 +10
Primarily it was taking advantage of non-unionized labor and content with no writer's room. Then it turned out that people would watch whatever is on out of behavioral intertia. But now that inertia has dissipated and they're left with stunt casting their way to viewership by trying to mainstream niche interests. But sometimes people have maintained celebrity in a niche fandom without breaking out into greater culture *for a reason* and their existing audience isn't enough to justify patience.
10
gaanmetde Mar 26, 2026 +1
Wow, very well put.
1
squirreloak Mar 26, 2026 +2
Naivete.
2
Chelonia_mydas Mar 26, 2026 +10
The sad part is that the bachelor / bachelorette have cast some amazing matches that have resulted in long marriages with kids and everything. But now everyone just goes on there for clout / to be IG famous
10
Thellamaking21 Mar 26, 2026 +5
No one wants to watch these people. We want to see people throw poop at the wall and act like idiots. It makes us feel better about ourselves.
5
servetheale Mar 26, 2026 -3
So you've always been a fool.
-3
Ghosts_and_Empties Mar 26, 2026 +82
She doesn't seem like a very good Mormon...
82
CHIBEARS2233 Mar 26, 2026 +90
As someone who grew up in the Mormon faith I can tell you there are few who are good people. I’m glad I got out
90
nimsu Mar 26, 2026 +27
Tbf, true with most religions
27
Special-Garlic1203 Mar 26, 2026 +43
Mormons are exceptionally gnarly as a group. It's a literal cult and leadership knows full well that's what they are
43
FantasyBaseballChamp Mar 26, 2026 +5
“Milk before meat.” They specifically tell converts the nice, reasonable-sounding stuff before hitting them with the crazy.
5
StasRutt Mar 26, 2026 +26
Honestly most of the women on the show have distanced from the religion. I saw a video jokingly describe her as ethnically Mormon and that’s probably the most accurate description
26
EddaValkyrie Mar 26, 2026 +2
Lol, I sometimes call myself socially Christian, because although I'm atheist, most of my family is still religious and I'll attend church with my mother, recite The Lord's Prayer with everyone at family events, hold hands and bow my head when the prayers start up etc.
2
R12B12 Mar 26, 2026 +4
Qualifying as a “good Mormon” would be as troubling as whatever Taylor is.
4
Icy-Whale-2253 Mar 26, 2026 +4
I’m not here to judge per se but I’m trying to figure out how is she a Mormon with multiple baby daddies let alone going on a show where she will ostensibly be sleeping with multiple men. Isn’t all this against the religion?
4
CheezustheCat Mar 26, 2026 +4
The requirements for being a "good" Mormon are as complicated as their afterlife flow chart.
4
CallMeSisyphus Mar 26, 2026 +3
IKR? I only knew the broad strokes of the religion, and then YouTube's algorithm put Alyssa Grenfell on my FYP, which sent me down the rabbit hole. To say that it's weird is a dramatic understatement.
3
jesuschin Mar 26, 2026 +29
The only reason she got her secret lives show was because of what a trashbag she was. The fact The Bachelorette producers chose her is an indictment on how braindead everyone in charge there is
29
Significant-Cell-375 Mar 26, 2026 +33
Screw this show and genre. None of this was ever RIGHT. Lol
33
streetglide34 Mar 26, 2026 +52
Pretty crazy that with a parent company of Disney, that ABC can't vette worth a shit. A lot of people should be gone after spending 22 million on something that could have been googled.

squirreloak Mar 26, 2026 +20
Vet, not Corvette

Polonium-CockRing Mar 26, 2026 +1
I’m tired of magazines saying flat butts are the thing
1
ToothStreet466 Mar 26, 2026 +36
They knew, but went ahead anyway. They do very thorough background checks. They didn't care until the ex released that video. They wanted someone with an established group of mom followers. They were stupid to pick her anyway. Wholesome ABC/Disney choose to have a woman with two baby daddies. Don't they know their core audience??
36
singleguy79 Mar 26, 2026 +15
I feel a lot of now know more about the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives then we wanted to. We should get restitution for that.
15
CoffeeCup220 Mar 26, 2026 +12
They wanted someone who would do this, but didn't ACTUALLY do it.
12
WardenEdgewise Mar 26, 2026 +5
Garbage TV of garbage people, made by garbage producers, for a garbage audience.
5
Dirt-McGirt Mar 26, 2026 +5
Cancel it and end our suffering.
5
SushiMelanie Mar 26, 2026 +14
As a Canadian observer, the American false equivalency of performative religiosity being an indicator of true integrity and values is wild. Like, how many times can people be surprised that people who make a big show of their supposed moral superiority are not what they seem?
14
R12B12 Mar 26, 2026 +6
That’s not all Americans. Just American Christians.
6
SushiMelanie Mar 26, 2026 +7
Never said it was. Your nation refers to itself as “one nation under God” and historically centres socially Christian values despite claiming separation of church and state and having a population representing a broad diversity of belief systems. Besides, Mormonism is an off-shoot of Christianity. I intentionally chose my earlier wording for both these reasons.
7
Icy-Whale-2253 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Even in America we think Mormons are a strange breed
1
IMOvicki Mar 26, 2026 +1
Huhh…… The irony
1
Baby_Goat_22 Mar 26, 2026 +6
None of those people deserved to be on television. They are all despicable and untrustworthy. But yet now they get shows, go on dancing with the stars and now Broadway. 🤮🤮🤮
6
oldharrymarble Mar 26, 2026 +1
This show is awful and I wish everyone that is apart of it the worst.
1
QBRisNotPasserRating Mar 26, 2026 +17
On the contrary, that sounds like exactly the type of person that would make me want to turn that show on
17
Fun-Basil-1314 Mar 26, 2026 +1
I swear I did not understand the jargon the author was speaking. Ok I don’t give a straw about reality shows or whatnot but I could not even. Understand the basic facts. What this woman did do on the show? After reading the article what happened remains obscure and mysterious unless you already watched the entire snow
1
foxyfree Mar 26, 2026 +1
Read the article because of your comment. The article never explains what this woman actually did to mess up the show. A lot of words, even a passing mention of the “mess” but no actual detail: “But beyond the concerning realities of the industry, the Taylor Frankie Paul mess ultimately reveals not only a misalignment between a show and its audience, but a broader shift in how we understand “reality” itself. In trying to straddle two opposing paradigms, The Bachelorette ends up satisfying neither. Savvy audiences can now sniff a manufactured arc from a mile away, even when it’s given a veneer of “authenticity”; spectacles and stunt casts come off as increasingly contrived and desperate for relevance. “

littlecow65 Mar 26, 2026 +5
Plus the fact that she’s not attractive
5
geebiebeegee Mar 26, 2026 +5
Tell that to Utah
5
Most_Chemist8233 Mar 26, 2026 +3
Excuse me US, what is happening to your socially idealized picture of femininity? I look at her and all the maralago faces going around and Im really confused. I KNOW this is not what the average american woman looks like, but where is the softness / sweetness / kindness? I look at that sourpuss face and I get goosebumps, and this is what the higher-ups think everyone should aspire to? Am I too old and thought the bachelors were super hot singles, or is this what americans think is super hot? Aside from that disgusting recording this face alone, wtf?
3
EngineVarious5244 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Where are you from?  I'm just curious bc I'm sure I can pull up a celebrity from a vapid reality TV show with exactly the same face lmao.
1
HallWild5495 Mar 26, 2026 +1
I am right on the same page, it's bizarre. faces like Margaret Qualley's stand out like a neon lighthouse now - any roundness, softness, or expression is somehow out of fashion right now? freaks me the f*** out. it's like the beauty standard has become "the worst you ever looked at rock bottom of an adderall addiction"
1
Arch-by-the-way Mar 26, 2026 +2
And yet everyone’s talking about it and next season will probably get higher ratings than last season
2
soy_bean Mar 26, 2026 +3
Same phenomenon as looking at a car wreck
3
CheezTips Mar 26, 2026 +1
That first paragraph was so turgid I couldn't continue
1
SuUU2564 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Eh, wasn't she the perfect fodder for such a show?
1
Thellamaking21 Mar 26, 2026 +1
No one wants to watch normal people we want to see people act like idiots. It makes us feel better about ourselves.
1
djn4rap Mar 26, 2026 +1
Don't most people who watch these shows constantly scroll through the internet and social media?
1
LesMiserablePeach Mar 26, 2026 +1
The concept of a "right" bachelorette is laughable.
1
fearof13 Mar 26, 2026 +1
the whole show needs to be revamped. when it first started it was insanely desirable/successful singles. now everyone is meh. or weird. or has a criminal past.
1
RebelliousInNature Mar 26, 2026 +1
Who cares. Literally who cares. It’s a load of bullshit. Don’t care about bullshit.
1
MaresATX Mar 26, 2026 +1
The box must be amazing, the amount of crazy
1
apaletail Mar 26, 2026 -1
This is crazy to read. And I was just given a book of Mormon the other day, by happenstance, at Ross. Think I’m gonna take another look at that book!!!
