Save the krill, save the whales. That’s the thought.

In over 50 years of operation, Watson and his crews have never killed anyone, seriously injured anyone, or caused a fuel spill. They know where the line is and they tip toe right up to it.

>"If the steel plates ... had ruptured, it could have caused a spill. It was probably just luck that it didn't cause more damage," Chief Executive Webjoern Barstad said. Not to worry. I'm sure the ~~terrorists~~activists would have blamed the harvester.

And when the ecosystem inevitably collapses? What then?

Watson would point to decades of close maneuvering around ships in the Antarctic by his ships with nary an injury to either his crew or his target, and never a fuel spill from their actions. Of course that’s not saying it can’t happen, but hasn’t yet.

License to krill

And when the krill harvesting fails, it will be time for Soylent Green? :-( > An environmental activist ‌vessel deliberately collided with a Norwegian krill harvesting vessel near Antarctica on Tuesday, damaging its hull, the vessel's owner, Aker QRILL Company, said on Wednesday. How about harvesting more of the invasive giant red king crabs near Norway?

Dude, Norway is literally the only thing standing between the EU and a completely dead north sea. In fact, the only thing truly standing in the way of Norway joining the EU is that it will be forced to comply with short-sighted central European overfishing practices.

Wait, fr? Do you have somewhere to read about this?

It was like the one legitimately good point the Pro Brexit folk had against the EU. "EU common fisheries policy" is what you are after.

Portugal and Spain have a history of overfishing

F****** shithead Sam Simon from Simpsons (Lionel Hutz) and his donating a ship to eco-terrorists.

The vessel you are thinking of is currently named “Age of Union” and is no longer part of Watson’s fleet, due to his split with Sea Shepherd. This vessel, “Bandero” is also a former Japanese patrol ship, so I can see the confusion.

How can someone be *this* wrong in a single comment?

Over the last decade I’ve gone from “I’m really not that intelligent” to “I have to be a genius” just because the stupid people stop recognizing all facts

Facts like sam simon donating a similar ship to paul watsons organization doing similar things?

They are cooked.

Big lawsuit?

Ev3rMorgan Apr 2, 2026 +5
Possibly. We’ll see when Bandero makes port if she’s detained. Watson claims they want their day in court to accuse the company operating the ship of “ecocide”. So they undertook this with the understanding they’d likely be sued.
