He aided the US military and was evacuated with his family when they withdrew! He worked a halal market to support his family of six children including an 18 month old! ICE grabbed him as he was driving his children to school! A day later they have no father. Now what happens to his family?? who were unsafe in their homeland for helping us??

Hardworking family man, fleeing what became one of the worst countries on earth, essentially a US army veteran, spoke English and contributed to the economy. I can't think of many people more qualified for *citizenship* let alone asylum status.

> I can't think of many people more qualified for citizenship Trump's Gold Card disagrees...

Whatever happens we know it won't be good and our leaders are to blame.

Hot_Escape_4072 Mar 16, 2026 +34
And worse, they will probably not provide them with any actual help. This country is fucked.
34
CondescendingShitbag Mar 16, 2026 +15
Sadly, there's no 'probably' about it. This administration doesn't help anyone but themselves.
15
SourFix Mar 16, 2026 +12
Don't legitimize them. Call them what they are. They are not leaders, they're a regime.

zeekayz Mar 16, 2026 +10
Yeah but his deal to help US forces was made under Obama and Trump made all of those Obama deals null. Some dumb excuse like that.

EmergencyCucumber905 Mar 16, 2026 +16
It's fucked up that every single Afghan (and their family) who aided NATO was not securely evacuated from Afghanistan and given permanent residency in US or Canada or wherever.

This shit needs to stop.

Damn sounds like anaphylaxis. Wonder if the fella even knew he had it.

Tall-Warning3135 Mar 16, 2026 +74
It does. Does the medical staff not have Epipens? And if not, why not?
74
EmergencyCucumber905 Mar 16, 2026 +34
They probably don't have a trained medical staff.
34
Tall-Warning3135 Mar 16, 2026 +2
The article said "medical staff"
2
EmergencyCucumber905 Mar 16, 2026 +25
Anyone can be designated "medical staff". Doesn't mean they're properly trained, or even care about inmates. We know these ICE facilities are overcrowded, unsanitary and inhumane and inmate death is a regular occurance. Their medical staff is probably incompetent at best.
25
fantollute Mar 16, 2026 +7
You can give an ice goon an n95 mask and call him "medical staff," doesn't make him a doctor.

Probably because it has to be trump friend certified for 5m a pen, 10 USD to make the pen, 4m for Trump's friend, 3/4 mil for distribution and unnecessary certificates to create bogus jobs and make the product unaffordable for others, lastly 1/4 of a million to bribe local politicians and judges and the rest.
13
VagrancyHD Mar 16, 2026 -53
Could have been one of those rare bad cases where you need a huge dosage and a couple of pens won't cut it.

I went into shock after allergy shots. They gave me a shot and some Benadryl but told me they nearly called the ambulance. I had fainted so I didn't know. Reading the article it doesn't seem like the medical person tried a shot or anything. I can't imagine running a detention center and not expecting the possibility.

Sweetdreams6t9 Mar 16, 2026 +25
Its possible the oversight is by design. Probable even.

Alternative-Pride138 Mar 16, 2026 +8
Yup. Some hard nose official looking at the budget deciding where to make cuts and I’m sure medical care was on the chopping block. I’d be interested to know what portion of their detention budget goes towards care of detainees.

I hope the American soldiers who were assisted by Afghans stand up to Trump and demand loyalty for loyalty.

I watched a documentary about an afghan translator and "spy" who was thrown under the bus when the order came to evacuate. I think he made it but only after a couple of years when he had to hide and flee, but eventually managed to sneak out of Afghanistan. If memory serves me correctly, he's now living in the UK and doesn't ever want to work for USA again. I can't blame him for feeling betrayed but I'm glad he found a safe place to live with his family. This is one of the things that is new to what USA stands for. They used to be trustworthy when they made a promise, and I am confident that the next administration will be better and will start to rebuild the trust. I hope everything trump has done to the US and its allies will be eradicated. Also, I hope that the pettiness of showing an autopen instead of Biden in the hallway will be used; great pictures of all previous presidents but a picture of a wrinkly orange instead of trump. His fury will be awesome to witness.

we lost our moral compass.

EvulOne99 Mar 17, 2026 +1
Nonono! I beg to differ! Don't bring yourself down to maga levels! It's been crystal clear from the beginning of trump's first term, that so many of you suffer within the country, having to come to terms with the fact that an abundance of the population is prone to hate and that they can betray values and norms of USA just to let their limited understanding of the world be the compass that the nation should follow. Perhaps you were naive by trusting the system with having some sort of breaks, but we're all guilty of that, then.

meant as a whole of america, corporate and govt greed. Power for party, not for the whole of its citizens.

The American soldiers are now the ICE agents and they love this.

So far US citizens have shown they have no honor. ( I could have used Americans, but that would be rude to alle the other non US americans., you guys lost that priviliege.)

oldmaninparadise Mar 16, 2026 +26
And we are now asking the Kurds to help us in Iran! Except for a common enemy, why would any in another country put themselves at risk for US ever again? I don't disagree that dismantling Iran's military and proxies is a bad idea. But if did this as NATO and all the other democratic countries together as a start, rather than the way we did, it really might just be over now.

Burnbrook Mar 16, 2026 +10
This country will be synonymous with betrayal and one party made that possible.

The lesson from this is that nobody should trust or negotiate with the United States. Are we great again yet?

Is there a running total of how many dead people would not be dead if not for this occupying regime?

Who knew the simple fix to excess immigration was to just be a shittier country than the ones people run away from.

Likely cause of death: negligent homicide or murder. NAZIs are here and they will be coming for us next.

Source? Outside of a letter/petition to the Biden Admin asking that USAID be given to Afghanistans in need, I couldn't find any information connecting USAID (which functionally doesn't exist right now) and #AfghanEvac.

Okay, so your source has nothing to do with #AfghanEvac, USAID, or the US. Got it.
