Southeast Asian leaders have adopted in an annual summit a contingency plan to mitigate the impact of the Iran war on their people and economies but acknowledged it will be difficult to enforce complex steps like establishing a regional fuel reserve to ensure a steady supply.

This is probably the most realistic response they could have right now. Even countries far from the conflict are being hit by fuel prices, shipping costs, and economic uncertainty.

This is similar to how the EU got started, with the coal and steel union. Cooperate on what is needed to build a strong economy (and weapons). Then hopefully extend it to other areas. They're going to need something like it in the future.

We consume 100 million per day. That’s 20 days. (Yes there’s other oil in the world but we’re consuming faster than accumulating for sure)
