Alias was the first show I ever binge-watched, back in the day when you had to buy DVDs

I'm way overdue a rewatch of this show

I rewatched it last year when I found out that the show is streaming on Disney+.

I tried watching it on D+ a while back, and they replaced the music. That show used a ton of pop music so I never continued.

Same. It's been so long that I really can't actually remember any of the details of the details. It will be like watching it for the first time again.

That and Person of Interest, Blue Collar, Burn Notice, and The Pretender.

Halfway through my first watch of Person of Interest and can't help but wonder why I didn't watch it before.

It got of the rails a bit in the later seasons but it was a great show. Awesome to just binge.

It really did, the first three seasons and the season three finale was mind blowing. And then I never really felt like they got the magic back. I can’t really remember the details but I remember being so excited for the reveal of what the hell happened and then thinking that it was kind of a letdown. If I remember correctly, JJ Abrams left after season three to go do Lost so I think that’s partly why the quality dipped quite a bit.

Alias foreshadowed JJ Abram's career. He's great at creating characters and setting, then generating a lot of intrigue, only to find out that he never had any idea where his plot was going. He keeps doing this over and over again.

Totally! I remember watching the first few seasons of Lost and thinking it was the coolest and I got so excited every time some mind blowing reveal happened because I couldn’t wait to see the amazing explanations. Turns out there were none! Mystery box after mystery box. I had so much trust in the show runners. I was a young teen and had never seen a show like it and the possibility that they didn’t have answers to these huge questions they set up didn’t even cross my mind.

I skipped Lost because it was pitched as "from the creators of Alias" which I stopped watching in season 2 because it was turning into a mess. I had coworkers try to convince me that Lost was really good and that I should watch it, but I said no because it's going to turn to shit eventually and they won't get good answers to all these mysteries they like to discuss. Of course I couldn't know that for sure because writers can improve, but it was fun to make that prediction and turn out to be right.

I'm still blown away by people who like Lost. The only reason I gave it a second thought was The Leftovers but when I finally tried Lost I realized how little I was enjoying any of it. I made it to S2 E3. It waa just such hot f****** garbage. Cheesy. Fake outs. I swear if I had to see one more shake cam shot of trees or some dumb "mystery hand with a weapon" I was going to snap.

I don't understand how these shows launched a career that is repeatedly given good franchises to apply the same treatment to.

I forgot why I never finished Alias, so I watched it again. I found it why I stopped but this time I posted through since I knew what was left.

I watched the entire series, but I did stop for a while when the Rambaldi storyline was getting a bit too convoluted.

I thought we didn't know about her dad being a double agent until later in S01?

You learn it relatively early on but it's definitely not the opening of the 1st episode.

Love this show. A friend recommended it, and I went in blind. I was floored! The two-part pilot was excellent, and felt like a great espionage movie. If you've not seen it and want to give it a try, don't watch the opening monologue.

I still think this show has one of the best pilots. To build up Danny as a real character the way they did so that what happens at the end matters, is amazing. So much so that I remember his name is Danny ffs.

Now I'm gonna have to dust out my old DVDs after seeing that😉

This was first series that got me into spy drama it bring me back so many teenage memory following her journey. There really don't make series like this anymore. i can't wait introduce my kids to this when they get older. As parents it's important we show our kids what a good tv series is instead of what on netflix & disney for teenagers.
