Alternatives for TV Time

Posted by Sonumuhammad

I’ve been using TV Time for years, but recently it’s been slow and buggy. Thinking of switching — what are the best alternatives right now for tracking TV shows and movies?”

TVMaze. Every time this question gets asked, half of the sites recommended are just using the TVMaze API... so go straight to the source. I've used it for a decade with zero complaints.

There are a few like https://simkl.com/ https://medialib.net/ and https://trakt.tv/

What tv time did for me is know that I watched season 1 of deadloch. When season 2 was available, deadloch popped up in my feed. Does trakt do that? Track upcoming releases for shows I am interested in?

Yes, all of them do. Just try them and see what works best for you.

I recommend Refract. The creators have a big long term vision to make the most complete media tracking app. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/refract-track-movies-tv/id6760271872

Refract is a very good alternative => [https://getrefract.app/](https://getrefract.app/) Good community and developers are very reactive, which is a change Vs. TV Time \^\^ The app is quite young though (about a month I think), so let's see where it goes

TV Time has been a buggy mess for ages for me. I'm logged in on my phone but there seems to be no record or proof that my account exists as I can't log in anywhere or reset the password or make a new account with that email. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Plus absolutely little to no moderation. I honestly think the app is being run by like one guy in his spare time.

I'll give this a try - how soon do you expect to have Trakt integration?

I have been using Trakt for 2 years now, and I have been a tv time user for 6 years now. Trakt has been shit lately with the new UI, but someone recommended me Cinopsys yesterday, I tried it out and I like it better than Showly. You can try it out if you like.

I genuinely prefer the new Trakt ui. I tried it a year ago, and hated it, but now I really like it. It's what made me drop TVTime

I just switched to Trakt.tv, mainly for the same reason (that TVTime has been so slow)

Well I know of a way but you would have to do it bit by bit : Download the To Do Reminder app, manually put the time, show title & episode and set a reminder to watch one episode a day. That's how i'm able to keep track of what i'm watching (or binge-watching in this case).

That won't work. These apps/sites let you know when a show returns too (for the next season/after a long break). Plus if you hear about a show you're interested in with no release date, just add the title in and you'll be told when it starts airing.
