Peet was in stuff before this, but nothing too big. Before this movie in 2000, she might be best known for Seinfeld.

I want to know what the stuff is Amanda Peet wishes was different about The Whole Nine Yards. I had such a huge crush on her in that movie. Still do, tbh!

Maybe the flashing scenes?

If that was true then she probably wouldn't have done topless scenes in her other projects but she did.

Idk just a guess but she might have been typecast from that too harder to say no now. Also people regret things when they're older that they were fine with sometimes.  I keep thinking about Carrie Fisher, I thought her get up was cool not something to be ashamed of but she regretted it

I don't think that Amanda Peet has ever been typecasted. The next movie she did where she takes them out was Igby Goes Down.

I loved that movie in college (even if it did feel like an unauthorized adaptation of Catcher in the Rye), but I don’t remember Amanda Peet in it or any flashing. Kieran Culkin and Claire Danes loom over everyone else in that film in my memory.

She plays the mistress that has sex with Igby and his biological father.

Which ones? Only asking so I can avoid seeing it, of course ;-)

Well I would definetly avoid [this site then.](https://www.aznude.com/view/celeb/a/amandapeet-102221.html) it is NSFW and has clips of all of her topless scenes. I only know of it because my Bible study class warned me of that site. I would never click on that link myself.

She's great in Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple. With John Hamm.

Agreed. She was awesome in Studio 60 on the Sunset strip too. That show was canceled way too early. That should have been seasons upon seasons of Amanda Peet tastiness.

Where are you watching it? JustWatch doesn’t show it streaming anywhere, or did you buy it?
2
mister_somewhere Mar 30, 2026 +1
I bought it on YouTube. It's become one of my comfort shows.

I saw this movie on accident. I don't know what movie I was trying to see. Anyway it's a fond memory.

Loved the movie and the cast. Michael Clarke Duncan was such a talent. Bruce, a legend. Matthew. One of a kind. 💔

“I’m from Jersey” “*New* Jersey? That’s another place I know *nothing* about.”

Nerdbullet Mar 30, 2026 +3
Brockmire. Her performance in that as well as the show itself is underrated.

Nice to see someone not bashing their co-stars after they are no longer capable of responding for a change.

This is hard knowing the conditions of the other stars of this movie. I am glad we have these films to remember them as they were.

Wow, Ebert all but declared Amanda Peet the next great comedy star in his review of the film. https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-whole-nine-yards-2000

“Don’t blong” — still my favourite joke in the film. I say to my kids all the time. They hate it.

Such a fun movie!!!!  “Oz…you stud.” “He is gonna be dead stud.” Too bad that Matthew and that black actor are dead. Bruce is gone mentally and this for Amanda!!!ughhhh!
