Amazon Prime Sets Premiere Date For 'American Gladiators' Reboot (April 17th)

If it's a show where people run, jump and throw things against bigger, stronger and faster people than them, it'll be a blast. If it's 10 minutes of human interest b-roll on the contestants and snippets of the competition it'll suck.

I wish they’d bring back Nickelodeon’s GUTS but let me compete…as a 40 year old

Hopefully they make it more balanced this time Last reboot ended up suffering because the final challenge and most of the regular challenges were dominated by skinny fast guys. So many wall climbs and sprints. I don't want to see some 160lb dude win American Gladiators every week. You got to give the more well rounded athletes a chance to win.

The documentary was pretty fucked up. They exploited the shit outta that first group of gladiators. I hope they pay and treat this group better.

Another reboot for this? The show used to be fun way back when but lost charm as it went along and got reworked over the years so hope this works out.

I remember the original, and I watched the early 00's reboot that had "Crush" aka Gina Carano and thought she was the hottest fuckin thing. What a shame how she devolved over time.

This show could be amazing if execs had the balls.

I’m optimistic that this reboot will not rely on sad backstories of the competitors and Gladiators and rely more on the competition.

It's 1991. Baywatch and American Gladiators are on TV. America is invading a middle Eastern country starting with "Ira" It's 2026...

They will kill it like American ninja warrior and just have 20 minutes of background on some kid that's dyslexic and struggled through life but went to the gym and now he is here.

I'll give it a try, but there's just no way in hell this'll match the original. The reboot with hulk hogan was c***. I hated that they filmed and edited it like a reality show rather than a sports competition.

Oh man, I was just watching old episodes of this on Amazon Prime the other day and telling my wife they need to reboot this show in the same format again. I’m glad to see this. Hopefully it stays true to the original and not obsessed with the human interest angle.

Finally a premiere date, it feels like forever ago since it was first announced. I'm looking forward to it personally as a big fan of the original series, I just hope it's better than the 2008 NBC version. The Gladiator uniforms in the picture look great, they're reminiscent of the ones worn in the first two seasons of the original.

Don't like that it's hosted by The Miz. I've seen him host Challenges and he's pretty rough. I like the guy, but not as a host.

The Miz is the best ass kisser in sports entertainment that knows how to play chess when everyone else plays connect four. Tobey Maguire won best kiss at the MTV Movie Awards back in the day but not even his lips could kiss the way Miz does. Fanboys suck off Miz because he got hazed and buy into the utility guy schtick but ignore that he's an a****** who never catches people on dives. People love saying what a safe worker he is but dude refuses to catch anyone on a dive. Anyone with common sense knows that in any field, you need to play the game and kiss a ton of ass.
