Thank God. For a minute there I thought Amazon might lose some of its obscene profits.

Democrats should seriously take up the cause of encouraging small businesses and breaking up big businesses just to have secure regional supply chains that aren’t as impacted by the whims of dictators with dementia

I'd gladly vote for any D that ran on a platform of de-monopolization and un-enshittification of services.

It shouldn’t even be controversial. Everyone likes that, both on the left and the right. It’s not some extreme social reform, it’s a pro-capitalism reform too that increases competition in the market. Literally the only people who don’t want that are the businesses themselves, which speaks to the power they have in resisting reforms.

Kamala had a plan for small businesses - just saying

I don’t disagree she includes small businesses in her plan, but it really has to be a vision associated with the Democratic brand as a whole. DOGE was awful but it inspired a lot of Republicans to try similar initiatives locally by using DOGE as a blueprint. Money doesn’t trickle-down but ideas do.
For instance, advocate for universal healthcare because by separating healthcare from employment you make it possible for people to leave their jobs and take risks on their own businesses without losing care. Kamala did not have a plan for universal healthcare, in fact she would not pursue even a public option and only stuck to expanding some parts of the ACA

Making the ACA affordable would allow people to be able to uncouple insurance from their jobs

It would adjust the margins and allow more people to do that, but that’s also a very narrowly tailored approach so it’s hard to see it as a substantial change

I still won't forget when Amazon was going to be pro-customer and display the tariff cost to the items sold, but then went back when the Trump administration cried about it. Get fucked, Amazon.

This time last year they were attributing rising costs to tariffs until Trump through a massive fit. I wonder what he’ll do to raise prices again next year.

Eff you Amazon. You add a 3.5% surcharge, but you also sell rip offs of almost everything that is sold on Amazon. This gives you a price advantage over independent sellers who are already making less. Tell me how is this not manipulation?

Note this is third-party sellers, many of whom are small businesses.

First off, Trump said the Strait was open. Why can’t Amazon get some of that delayed courage and just take the fuel it needs instead of charging us more?
