Why? I'm super pro Oracle. I love everything they do and stand for. And all the business decisions and political decisions they make. 100%. Wanna make sure their infrastructure in the middle east is safe from these jerks.

Thank you for standing up for what is right. The world is a better place with more people like this! I also love Oracle and someone needs to make sure their investments are safe and sound

Here we go. If Trump wasn't gonna TACO already, he sure will soon. Big Tech put him in there. They can just as easily rip him out.

Reyna_girlie Apr 1, 2026 +45
I honestly think this is actually gonna cause him to go even harder. TACO'ing now would be utterly humiliating and frankly a victory for Iran and the entire Trump admin knows it, and if theres one thing they hate more than market instability its humiliating losses I think *they* think that limited boots on the ground and completely destroying Iranian energy, nuclear and oil infrastructure will cause their surrender, when it in fact will probably be a bloodbath for American soldiers and Gulf Infrastructure

He can always call it a victory, his base will eat up anything he says

Reyna_girlie Apr 1, 2026 +1
But it wouldnt be, and even if his base is stupid there will still be major criticism. No matter how they spin it, they cant just turn the current situation into a victory because right now in a year this whole charade starts over again because Irans leadership is now filled with IRGC hardliners who will be lazer focussed on getting that nuclear bomb and re-militarising. What then, theyre just going in again? The US really f****** backed themselves into a corner with this one, because its A. a very expensive, deadly and long war or B. accepting a humiliating loss and having Iran prepare for round three, effectively starting over again. And I think that calculus is gonna cause them to escalate, not chicken out

I think you underestimate their stupidity. Unless it hits their wallets directly, really hard and for a long time, they won't care. That said, my understanding is that even if the US pulls out, Iran will keep blocking the straits to extract tolls, and that will keep oil price high. Hopefully it will erode the support of his cult over time.

sixtyninth_wave_emo Apr 1, 2026 +1
We really are at a pivotal point: will he take the L and see if he can slither his way out of his worst crisis with a dwindling base of support, or commit to what will probably end up being a years long, violent and decimating war with a dwindling base of support? From what we’ve come to expect of him, I’m inclined to believe the latter but I truly hope we are wrong

agent_mick Apr 1, 2026 +1
They absolutely can turn it into a victory. They did it with supreme Court verdict ruling against him, they can do it with this too. People have to watch other news to see beyond the propaganda they're fed

EDDYBEEVIE Apr 1, 2026 +1
Iran isn't going to stop hitting American assets in the region once Trump declares victory. His base is stupid but they are also the fertile recruiting ground for the army. Word of deaths will still spread in the Maga world.

Ha! Shame you changed it. Was much more fun that way in what is an awful situation with no good outcome. As an aside, I completely agreed with your analysis btw.

It's kind of funny because the one true counter to Trump is someone who takes the exact same approach: "I will dig in and make your victory as painful as possible so that you will find it more advantageous to give up and give me everything I want." I have no doubt in my mind that Iran's leadership is willing to take the whole country down to do as much damage as possible to the US on the way out. And honestly, they can do an *immense* amount of damage, likely to mortally wound the US economy and definitely destroy any position it has in global politics. The only "clean" way out might be for Trump to make a humiliating apology. I'm pretty sure if somehow the US wakes up and removes Trump, Iran is going to refuse to negotiate with whoever comes next and insist the war only ends when Trump ends it. If the US withdraws they're going to pummel the snot out of Israel and threaten anyone else. They'll hold the oil until the rest of the world comes for it. They are going to do whatever it takes to screw over the US and they've likely been waiting for this moment for nearly a century. All they needed was someone stupid enough to light the fire. Trump's personal ethos has no room for surrender, and neither does Iran's.

The beauty of narcissism is you're never humiliated in your own eyes, so you're never wrong

fyrefox45 Apr 1, 2026 +1
There is no TACO to be had. For anyone. The US can't start a war and then just waltz away willy nilly. Theres only 1 offramp at the moment, and that's the complete dissolution of CENTCOM. There will be boots on the ground by this weekend. This is a long way from over.

Did they use BBs?  Trump got snippy with a reporter who mentioned Iran had threatened to do this and he said "Attack them with what? BBs?"

This is what happens when geopolitical conflicts start hitting infrastructure instead of just headlines.

This feels like that The Onion headline, "Worst person you know made a good point." Anyway Jeffy will probably just lay off more workers to cover the loss. I feel sorry for those employees.

Isn’t on their list anymore either, they removed it, with prejudice.

I really hate the Iranian regime but can't help to feel Schadenfreude whenever something like this happens.

I hope Bezos does not forget to say thank you when visiting the White House next time and hand over the Amazon Peace Price.
