This looks pretty faithful to the original. Certainly a lot moreso than the awful NBC reboot they tried. Though "new theme song by Jellyroll" did not inspire a lot of confidence at the start. Who was asking for that?

When Katt Williams talked about industry plants, this is a huge example. He may have some of the talent to pull it off but the story to shove down your throat is what they keep making money off of. He is a fat drug user/dealer(?) , w**** wife who believes in the pretty woman story. He uses ozempic, and got the fake teeth in. They shined a turd and want to maximize their profits from it.

Yeah i will 100% at least check it out to start, it looks fairly similar to the original from way back when. Hopefully they don’t go too over the top with the soap opera backstories of the contestants and just focus on everybody f****** each other up and it should be a blast

This just makes me appriciate how the UK version does it. Less nonsense, more wholesome without relaying on sob stories. It's only trailer so i'll give it a shot with a full epsiode, but i can already smell the OTT american patriotism.

The version that just wrapped up showing S2 is way less heavy on them. They still do give some backstory but it's usually just waving to a family that believe in them in the crowd. 90% of the focus is on the Gladiators.

OMG Jelly Roll did the theme!?! I love Jelly Roll!! my whole family loves Jelly Roll! He's the best! I'm so glad that Jelly Roll got to make the theme for this!! He's such a beautiful soul that praises god and love and kindness unless you ask him about his fucked up friends and his bullshit outburts of whiny misplaced juvenile anger towards shoe salesmen or about how his christian religious beliefs are complete bullshit.

I hope they learned their lesson from the last reboot attempt and go back to making it more about the competition instead of an over-the-top shitty reality show. IDGAF about any of the competitors or the gladiators or their backstories. The original had a max of 30 seconds at a time about any of the people on the show and that’s plenty.
