This is more like a returning classic/all-star cast, a lot of these actors haven't been in the show for a long time. Jessica Lange hasn't been there in 10 years bar one cameo. Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters haven't been around for 5 years. Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett are returning after 8 years. Gabourey Sidibe had a smaller role 8 years ago and hasn't been in the main cast for 10.

-Start strong with a provocative plot line. -Build it up for 50% of the season -Add new layers in, with a shocking kinda predictable twist. -Add side characters, and lose the plot. -Run out of time and wrap everything up in 10 minutes during the finale *The Ryan Murphy Experience*

Adding the new side characters never works and is usually what starts the story spiralling into overly twisted nonsense. I feel like he crams a dozen people into every season just to work with the actors he likes and so he can keep up frequent deaths. I would like to see this show do something more constrained with a smaller core cast. Like a campy version of The Terror where it's 5 or 6 people trapped somewhere.

The trailer to the Halloween episodes are always the best part of every AHS season. Full of crazy possibilities and plot lines don’t need to be haphazardly resolved yet.

They botch the ending of double feature Red Tide so hard. Genuinely the first season I deemed unwatchable and haven't look back since. Apparently NYC and Delicate is as bad. I'm just so tired of 'Hollywood satire' schlock they've been doing. And this is from someone who genuinely enjoy Cult and Apocalypse.

I won’t watch anything with a Kardashian in it, so this sounds very promising I thought I remember Jessica Lange saying these were too dark for her and she wouldn’t go back to another season I guess the money was more powerful than the memory

Maybe doing 4-5 years of dark/violent horror stories in a row soured her on them and she thought she'd never be in the mood for it again, but after a 10-year break, she's okay doing a one-off one again. Would be very understandable IMO. And this is a sequel to Coven which I felt was the least dark of the seasons she did (it's been ages since I've seen it so I might be forgetting).
