I found it absolutely hilarious that Kim Kardasian *(S12)* was the BETTER actress compared to the main cast for the most part. I was genuinely beside myself with laughter, just couldn't believe it. I dropped that season *(after 3-4 episodes giving it a chance)* and every one after the *"We're Pregnant!"* Alien one. But I digress.. Ever since the Kardashians 'graced' us with their presence though, I've avoided them at all costs; so the idea she was more palatable than the rest was what really sent me over the edge and then made me just stop watching altogether. Given how the bar is so ridiculously low for her as a performer, the fact she felt more convincing than the main cast that season really highlighted just how weak the performances have become these past few years. After 1985 it really started to feel like "American Horror Stories" *(I don't know why he has such an obsession with nepo babies honestly)* with how badly acted out the scenes were, except that one special episode "Dollhouse". So I'm excited for this new/last(?) season; especially looking forward to returning actors/actresses *(Kathy Bates yay~)* and my dad will also be excited to know that it's about Coven/Witches since it's his favorite one out of the anthology series.

I watched them all up until that season, I just couldn't do it.

nuckle Apr 7, 2026 +2
I didn't even bother watching the last one because they were in it. I will not watch them in anything.

As a singer, sure. But as an actress?

fax5jrj Apr 6, 2026 +15
have you seen Scream Queens? she was a highlight there so I'd love to see more of her tbh

Also sure
16
Sylar_Lives Apr 6, 2026 +4
She has excellent comedic timing

Her UFC fan Celine Dion is hilarious

butt_butt_butt_butt_ Apr 7, 2026 +2
I thought the same as you. I’m not a fan of Ariana by any means. Her music isn’t for me, despite me being the target audience. Her public persona is annoying at best. Her personal life is trash. But if you watch her on SNL specifically, girl is a theater kid through and through, and she’s actually pretty great. Kind of perfect for AHS. WAY better than Emma Robert’s, who can only ever play the same role over and over in anything she does. Ariana’s impressions are fantastic. She has comedic timing. And she absolutely commits. She wasn’t a huge part of Scream Queens, but she did great with what time she had. As for Wicked, she’s no Kristen Chenowith. But she’s still solid. Not much to criticize besides comparing her to one of the most famous names in broadway. I’ve never rooted for her, but she consistently surprises me by how well she does in acting roles. And…Let’s be honest. AHS has had some amazing names like Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates. But they’ve also platformed some absolute stinkers like Paris Jackson and Kaya Gerber (and again…Emma Roberts, who has the acting range of a mid-level republican congressman trying to fart out a genuine feeling about a school shooting). Ariana has more acting chops than a lot of the younger cast or celeb guest stars that Murphy keeps using. I don’t like her either, but she’s definitely not going to be the problem with this new season.

Exotic-Bus-1814 Apr 7, 2026 +1
She started as an actress on Broadway and has done plenty.
1
NeighborhoodLanky692 Apr 6, 2026 +25
She’s an academy award nominee but sure go off
25
obalovatyk Apr 6, 2026 -19
She has the acting range of a spoon.
-19
shifty_coder Apr 6, 2026 -24
Yeah, for Wicked. Her nomination was primarily because of her performance as a singer, *in a musical*. 2025 wasn’t exactly a stellar year for female noms. Wicked went for every category they could qualify and she lost out to Zoe Saldaña in Emilia Perez. Several better performances were just completely snubbed. Felicity Jones should’ve won it.

I actually liked the Coven season, so I'm mildly interested in this... Can't wait to see how Ryan Murphy is going to f*** it up though.

MyPronounIsGarbage Apr 6, 2026 +39
If I had to guess someone will get raped by an alien to give birth from their butt to an even more anti-Christ. Stevie Nicks is there and some swamp folk have a Ewok style party to celebrate.
39
Dahcchad Apr 6, 2026 +18
And every straight male character will find himself in a gay love affair. May or may not be incestuous.
18
sleepymeowth052 Apr 6, 2026 +36
He'll build up this great story and resolve it by episode 7. Just like always
36
MyStationIsAbandoned Apr 7, 2026 +4
yeah. it's always a huge build up and then nothing happens. every single time. i'm not going to bother
4
Luminya_ Apr 11, 2026 +1
Doubtful since they plan to cut the episode run time from an hour to 30 mins
1
sleepymeowth052 Apr 11, 2026 +1
No it just means they'll have to cut the side plot number from 4 to 3
1
hikemalls Apr 6, 2026 +43
Ryan Murphy’s entire career and audience is just the Simpsons scene where everyone at the nuclear plant is intently watching Homer and Lenny goes “Get ready everyone, he’s about to do something stupid.”
43
licoricenipple Apr 7, 2026 +10
Well I'm sorry everyone, but you seem to have me confused with a character in a fictional meme. Now if you'll excuse me, my script where succubus Kim Kardashian pegs Ted Bundy is just about ready.
10
fax5jrj Apr 6, 2026 +33
the other Coven sequel season was horrible
33
MichaelMyersEatsDogs Apr 6, 2026 +21
Are you talking about the post apocalypse season?
21
FudgeAllOfYous Apr 6, 2026 +33
that was actually the only good thing about the Apocalypse season…that it turned into a meta-Coven season after a couple of episodes.
33
fax5jrj Apr 6, 2026 +7
yes - it was called Apocalypse the Murder House episode was brutal
7
EmotionalArgument695 Apr 6, 2026 +10
I loved Apocalypse.
10
fax5jrj Apr 6, 2026 +1
something for everyone! did you binge it or watch it week to week out of curiosity?
1
licoricenipple Apr 7, 2026 +1
Was it better watched one way or the other? I do find that some shows are better binged so the slower pace doesn't feel frustrating (Pluribus) but others are better spread out so you don't notice how little the larger plot is making sense (X-Files).
1
EmotionalArgument695 Apr 7, 2026 +1
I watched it week to week, and then I binged it over again.
1
butt_butt_butt_butt_ Apr 7, 2026
Thank you. I was so excited for the premise of Apocalypse, but to have it start out interesting and then just turn into a Coven reunion early on was SOO dumb. And I liked Coven. The first time. Why can’t we just have a cool apocalypse story? There’s SO much you could do with an apocalypse story, especially when they took it in a biblical direction with a potential anti-Christ character coming to f*** with the survivors? You could do Bible shit. You could mix in other cultures ideas about the end of the world. You could do zombies or aliens or Fallout-style radioactive creatures. You could leave it bleak and just have it be about a post-apocalyptic society crumbling. Or what Hell really is. SO many possible ideas where it could be a standalone thing and not have to tie to any other season. Or do so in a very minimal way as an Easter egg. Why did it have to go back to the drama that was already covered and resolved in Coven by bringing them all back and just more Coven drama in a bunker? That season had the most interesting premise of all of them, for me, to be a seriously bleak, or funny, anything goes kind of story with a ton of sources to draw from. It ended up being one of my least favorites and the least “horror” focused, because they chose to throw a great premise away in favor of teenage drama from a comedic season that absolutely didn’t need to be rehashed. So of COURSE they are doing Coven again. That dead horse is already beaten into an unrecognizable pulp. So let’s resurrect it again for reasons and we can beat it again to shoehorn in Stevie Knicks. Again.

youtbuddcody Apr 6, 2026 +5
I will argue to the moon and back that Coven is the only good season
5
firedmyass Apr 6, 2026 +16
it’s the only one I continued to watch. Hooked me from the jump
16
whitepeopleloveme Apr 6, 2026 +11
i really like a number of the seasons but Coven might be the only one i’m not embarrassed about.
11
FasterBussycat Apr 6, 2026 +8
I honestly feel like the only non-embarrassing AH season is Asylum. Coven was so stupid by the end with all of the deaths and resurrections, and I found it to be one of Murphy's worst takes on racism and the Black experience. It doesn't help that, imo, Scream Queens S1 is a much better take on "Emma Roberts plays a Regina George knock-off."* *It has been at least a decade since I watched either of these seasons so my opinions are not necessarily to be trusted.
8
Minglans Apr 6, 2026 +2
I was very invested in the relationship between Queenie and the Minotaur~ */s*
2
WR810 Apr 7, 2026 +2
> I honestly feel like the only non-embarrassing AH season I'm going to stop you right here and just say they're all embarrassing *and* that is part of the fun of the show
2
Seraphayel Apr 6, 2026 +5
I think Freak Show is by far the most well-rounded and scariest of all the seasons, Coven was also great though. I know Freak Show is usually not that popular among fans, but I always liked it the most.
5
princesspeeved Apr 6, 2026 +2
Roanoke was much scarier than Freak Show.
2
spinbutton Apr 6, 2026 +1
The rain of teeth.....
1
Extension_Turnip4592 Apr 10, 2026 +1
I was actually SCARED watching Roanoke and I watch a lot of horror movies..
1
ReverseJackalope Apr 7, 2026 +1
I actually enjoyed Roanoke, it felt like the characters were in the horror situations they were in and the campiness was stripped away. Coven was fun, but when there are resurrection spells involved, the stakes kind of disappear.
1
Limp-Beat3137 Apr 8, 2026 +1
Freak Show was good too. I love me some Pepper.
1
BongRipsForNips Apr 6, 2026 +1
Hes turning it into half hour long episodes for starters
1
Sammyd1108 Apr 6, 2026 +65
I’m shocked Taissa Farmiga isn’t coming back if it’s a continuation of Coven. She was the lead of the younger cast that season.
65
GoldenTriforceLink Apr 6, 2026 +40
They basically moved her arc onto Billy Lourde
40
Heatherb78 Apr 6, 2026 +1
Can someone please explain her appeal?? I saw the April Fools joke about Love Story season 2 being Nicks/Buckingham with her as Stevie and I almost threw up in my mouth.
1
bajarneb Apr 7, 2026 +5
Billie Lourd is Carrie Fisher’s daughter. The end
5
landalezjr Apr 6, 2026 +16
This probably has more to do with filming of AHS 13 conflicting with filming for the Gilded Age which is also currently filming in NYC. She might still make an appearance but wouldn't be available for more than an episode or two.
16
frankpharaoh Apr 7, 2026 +3
I haven’t seen Taissa in anything in years. Wonder what happened
3
jh2481 Apr 7, 2026 +6
She’s been playing a teenager on Gilded Age. Great show.
6
tizuby Apr 7, 2026 +1
Not confirmed yet != not coming back. She could be and they just haven't announced it, or maybe she had scheduling conflicts and it's not in the cards (she is a bit busy atm). She's previously said she's open to it.

iwatchyoupee Apr 7, 2026 +16
13 seasons? Holy shit. I think I stopped watching after 4.
16
crono09 Apr 7, 2026 +7
There are 13 seasons of *American Horror Story* plus 3 seasons of *American Horror Stories*. Like it or not, this show has longevity.
7
Philosophile42 Apr 7, 2026 +5
Has any season stuck the ending? I think I stopped around the carnival season realizing every season had a great opening half and the ending half just turned into nonsense.
5
crono09 Apr 7, 2026 +7
It's a matter of opinion, but the general consensus seems to be that Ryan Murphy has great ideas but no idea what to do with them once the story gets going.
7
ContactLong48 Apr 7, 2026 +2
i’d say the first half of double feature (red tide) was really really strong but unfortunately it’s quite short since the season crams two different stories into one
2
sodaonmyheater Apr 6, 2026 +65
I dunno if it’s an unpopular opinion, but the last time they tried this with Apocalypse it was just trash, almost like they switched gears mid season because the original premise wasn’t working. Please be better. Please don’t drag Lange out for nothing.
65
Ragnar_Dragonfyre Apr 6, 2026 +6
Apocalypse felt like it was an Omega Man setup then it went Coven out of left field. It was such a disappointment that I lost all interest in AMH. If the show can just “insert witches here” at any time, I’m out.
6
Timelord1000 Apr 7, 2026 -1
Witches, sexism, the occult and religious zealotry core part of American folklore. Gotta have them all otherwise the horror stories are hollow and lack foundation.
-1
ItchyPlatypus Apr 8, 2026 +1
Honestly I might be in the minority but I enjoyed that season. I know it’s a mess but I liked how it combined multiple seasons and shown that they were in the same universe.
1
Sammyd1108 Apr 6, 2026 -28
To be fair, they hyped up that season to be a continuation of Coven and it was just a single episode of the entire season, very disappointing.
-28
Safe-Reason1435 Apr 6, 2026 +29
What? The entire back half is Coven.
29
Sammyd1108 Apr 6, 2026 -7
As far as I remember, and it’s been like 10 years, I thought the actual cast of Coven only had a single episode.
-7
Safe-Reason1435 Apr 6, 2026 +13
You might be thinking of Murder House which only had one episode in Apocalypse and has been Lange's only return since she left. Coven is pretty much everything after they appear at the end of episode 3.
13
Sammyd1108 Apr 6, 2026 +3
Ah, that’s exactly what I’m thinking about lol.
3
Hedgewitch250 Apr 6, 2026 +7
How long has it been seen you watched cause After episode 3 the entire season is Cordelia and witches battling the anti christ
7
SweatyButtcheek Apr 6, 2026 +6
I think a lot of people could argue this show has run its course. The show’s been inconsistent since Season 3.
6
yakuzalinecook Apr 6, 2026 +18
They... they're still making seasons of AHS? ...oh
18
a-hthy Apr 6, 2026 +7
One of the best seasons and probably the most memorable for a lot of people. I hope we get another Stevie nicks cameo.
7
blarbiegorl Apr 6, 2026 +4
So then the question becomes, what is Lange doing in this season? Fiona Good(e?) is dead, is she not? Plus her character promo shot looks more like Constance Langdon.
4
RealJohnGillman Apr 6, 2026 +4
The witches are able to return from Hell.
4
boofoodoo Apr 6, 2026 +5
It’s pronounced like “oven”
5

Coven season 3? I’m sat
7
TapatioPapi Apr 6, 2026 +15
Thank god. Culturally it’s the most relevant and most interesting story and lore of any season. So makes sense to this be the big season.
15
SpiritedOwl_2298 Apr 6, 2026 +16
Out of ideas
16
Sea-Dragonfruit-6963 Apr 6, 2026 +3
Coven was one of the 3 good ideas they ever had.
3
alexlp Apr 6, 2026 +5
Classic Ryan Murphy. He needs a hit so back to the well. Plus he hasn’t ended it lazily and turned the audience against it yet and I believe that’s an important part of his process
5
Summoarpleaz Apr 6, 2026 +4
He’s ended AHS lazily since about season 3. Everyone just forgave the coven ending because of the mystery of who would be supreme. But there were so many arcs unresolved an as a story from top to bottom it just kind of went nowhere.
4
Rounder057 Apr 7, 2026 +1
When his plan for freak show was to just have dandy kill almost everyone, I was done with his shit
1
Summoarpleaz Apr 7, 2026 +1
Yeah. I generally liked freak show mostly because of Jessica Lange, but the fact that they introduced Twisty, who had all the makings of an iconic horror villain, and killed him off half way through the season was just strange to me.
1
Timelord1000 Apr 7, 2026
Nah. Coven, Apocalypse and Cult were ahead of their times. Predictive. Prescient. So glad we’re returning to their themes.
0
blankvoidoid Apr 6, 2026 +7
iI really enoyed 'Coven', but ngl, without 'our dear Zoe' and Misty Day, it better be a damn good script
7
Hermiona1 Apr 6, 2026 +3
I probably wouldve cared about 7 years ago.
3
thatbiguy3000 Apr 7, 2026 +3
It was obvious when it was announced Jessica Lange was coming back.
3
codex2013 Apr 6, 2026 +9
Oooh I only watched the first 3 seasons and Coven was my favorite, I might actually watch this one
9
RealJohnGillman Apr 6, 2026 +6
As a heads up, this would be *Coven* Season 3 — the *Apocalypse* season was *Coven* Season 2, also serving as a crossover season with *Murder House* (Season One). The *Hotel* season is also worth it for James Patrick March — once I saw that character, I was wondering why they hadn’t given Evan Peters such a character like that over any previous season.
6
blg0617 Apr 6, 2026 +1
I actually love Hotel. It gets so much hate in this sub but idc, I think its iconic and I try to do a re-watch of it every year around Halloween.
1
kevnmartin Apr 6, 2026 +2
I hope they bring back Frances Conroy and Dennis O'Hare.
2
SoTiredYouDig Apr 6, 2026 +2
I love Frances Conroy
2
AshTheDead1te Apr 6, 2026 +2
I have only watched fully one season and that was the Coven season, I liked it but I just couldn’t get into any of the others I tried, so I guess I will be watching this new one.
2
Creative-Painter3911 Apr 6, 2026 +2
I am way behind on this show, Season 4 (Freak Show) (Maybe S5 Hotel, I forget) was the last one I watched. Any standout seasons in the more recent ones?
2
bloodyturtle Apr 7, 2026 +2
Roanoke and NYC are decent. Apocalypse should probably be watched before this newest season.
2
TentraTint Apr 7, 2026 +1
Roanoke doesn’t get enough love I swear that season is so good. maybe I’m bias because I watched it weekly and I had no idea what I was tuning into on episode 1/5. But… The creativity alone, and Kathy bates as a butcher demonic warlord. cinema
1
LadyJR Apr 6, 2026 +2
I didn’t even finish freak show because they killed one of the characters off that I liked. I tried one episode of Hotel. My favorite was the asylum.
2
bloodyturtle Apr 7, 2026 +1
Most AHS characters get killed off lol
1
LadyJR Apr 7, 2026 +1
It was the giant clown one that made me turn it off. Everyone else was free game to die.
1
Horny_GoatWeed Apr 6, 2026 +1
IMDb episode ratings point to seasons 8 and 9. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1844624/ratings/

Thanks! I never remember I can do stuff like that on IMDB
1
Quolli Apr 7, 2026 +1
NYC is solid, although it drags out a bit towards the end.
1
soundsaboutright11 Apr 6, 2026 +2
I have zero hope in anything related to this series. It has not been good since Coven. That includes the last time they did a sequel season with the witches. That was hot garbage.
2
Gemnist Apr 6, 2026 +2
Calling it now: we’ll get another edition of Cult (the Trump one) in the next two years.

2
spooky3itch Apr 6, 2026 +2
I hope they can get Taissa somehow 😭
2
stuartseupaul Apr 6, 2026 +2
Sucks they gotta keep going to that well because there hasn't been any real interesting seasons that you would want to see more of. Murder house. Asylum. Hotel were all better but there's not much you can do in terms of continuation
2
DreamTheaterGuy Apr 7, 2026 +2
I liked Coven, but no Kardashian please.
2
preshusbabe Apr 7, 2026 +2
Then where is Lily Rabe?!

3
MR9009 Apr 6, 2026 +2
I hope they send Billy Lourd’s character back in time again to undo all the events of seasons 7 onwards, paying close attention to erasing Double Feature and Delicate. I could maybe brave them keeping 1984 and NYC (although I drifted off and never finished NYC, and deliberately didn’t watch Delicate).
2
braumbles Apr 6, 2026 +2
Ugh, that was one of my least favorite seasons.

Mine also but I think we are in the minority
1
MasterArCtiK Apr 6, 2026 +1
Oh this is the first time in a long time I’ve been interested in AHS. I loved coven and apocalypse, interested to see what they do next.
1
whorificustotalus Apr 6, 2026 +1
Remember how she said "oh god no" to AHS even a year ago? [Jessica Lange shoots down the possibility of ever returning to American Horror Story… even for the final season](https://www.listnook.com/r/AmericanHorrorStory/comments/1izsm17/jessica_lange_shoots_down_the_possibility_of_ever/)
1
eternalsaturn Apr 6, 2026 +1
They should just drop doing American Horror Story and just do Coven
1
mikan13 Apr 6, 2026 +1
I hope they bring back 35mm film filming and Michael Goi cinematographer .

I dropped AHS seasons ago… I want to give it a chance but my goodwill is kinda shot. I’ll be interested in seeing reviews first.
1
diomedes-on-rampage Apr 7, 2026 +1
i watched ahs back in covid era (2019) i watched first 5 seasons (murder house, asylum, coven, freak show, hotel) and stopped watching it. without knowing i watched best seasons and stopped. couple years later i decided to watch the rest of the seasons and i was so disappointed! i watched roanake, cult, apocalypse, 1984, double feature and at the time nyc and delicate were not released. i still regret watching after hotel. it was cool idea that actors played different characters in the same series and they were good actors but later seasons suck!
1
Limp-Beat3137 Apr 8, 2026 +1
Im obsessed with this season and New Orleans and will be visiting there on Halloween. I will make sure to see the Coven house since ive missed it on each visit in the past. I imagine its going to swamped with tourist... damn haha
1
Various-Position-875 Apr 8, 2026 +1
Se é a continuação é como se AHS Apocalipse não tivesse acontecido? Ou a nova temporada vai começar quando Mallory mata o anti Cristo e volta pra academia como uma “nova” aluna?

I hope I’m wrong but this reeks of desperation. They already did this essentially with Apocalypse. I hope it’s good but I’m not optimistic. Edit: Whelp, Ariana Grande is in it so that’s that.
-2
bindersfull-ofwomen Apr 6, 2026 +5
Ariana is one of his people. She was in Scream Queens.

Putrid_Loquat_4357 Apr 6, 2026 +3

3

And? That makes her a good actress how exactly?
-4
Putrid_Loquat_4357 Apr 6, 2026 +3
Her performance has been recognised by her peers as being worthy of adulation. She's a good actress. Where has she put in a bad performance?

Its common for people to conflate "I don't like her/them" with "they are bad at what they do."

I mean, as long as it is an actual continuation and not just something like apocalypse, I'm all for it.

Eh, I kind of wish it wasn’t. I know Coven is a big fan favorite but we already got a continuation of it with Apocalypse. It’s still my guilty pleasure show so I’ll watch it but I was hoping for something more unique.

Let me guess, the entire cast dies and gets resurrected and then dies again, and are resurrected in some really convoluted way while the annoying f****** "la la laa la" song plays in the background. Oh and a hamfisted cameo from Stevie Nicks.

Do y’all remember how shitty Apocalypse was? He’s just gonna do it again.

Ugh that was the first season to really start going downhill.

Coven was the one I enjoyed most after Murder House, but Apocalypse was terrible, and Hotel killed off Queenie. If they can somehow erase everything involving any season crossovers, then I'm fine with it.

Lost all interest then. Why can’t they just stick to standalone as originally done. Sick of sequels to overrated seasons

Coven wasn't a horror story--one of the absolute weakest seasons. It should have aired on CW.

At this point just make a spinoff around coven lol I rather have a new theme.

Are they gonna pick up right from the Stevie Nicks music video/fanboy spooge or are they gonna do something interesting?
