It’s just not reflective of society anymore. The US also doesn’t feel like the center of the universe in a way it might have 20 years ago. So these issues “beautiful” and “handsome” just feel archaic.

It’s also weird because Hathaway said she asked for the devil wears Prada 2 to not have models that were too thin. But she’s okay with defining beauty so narrowly. She is beautiful but a specific beauty.

It’s just an easy press tour topic. Beauty is subjective, but it’s an easy conversation starter. Debates from “who’s more beautiful” to “Hot or not.” are the one of the oldest story hooks from the Iliad to the office. Hollywood needs a filler story to create conversation about the actress as part of the media blitz for Devil Wears Prada 2, and will use the oldest trick in the book to create a story. I understand your sentiment, but it’s absolutely not serious and the fact you started the conversation means _it worked_ because it created engagement.

I think her cosmetic surgery work is very minimal but in a way that doesn’t impact her too much where she looks even more beautiful. That being said I think she would have aged more gracefully where I didn’t think she needed work done at all. She looks a bit different

You want me to quote the weird comments? “She seems like the kind of girl who has never been told the word no…” “Looking very well preserved” “She shouldn’t have tweaked her eyes” “She exhausts me” And multiple comments commenting on her cosmetic work or negatively commenting on her appearance. It’s mad weird and it happens constantly, especially to Anne Hathaway for some reason.

Good for her! God knows if it’s true or not, but I saw a comment on a listnook post asking people about celeb interactions. Someone said they were at a party in LA and knew basically know one so they felt super uncomfortable and Anne Hathaway (before super stardom) noticed, and went out of her way to approach them with “Hi! I’m Annie. What’s your name?” to start a conversation with them and I’ve loved her ever since lol.
