Anyone else a fan of the show 'Jericho'?

Posted by Shoddy_Bet9619

Show from 2006 - 2008. Was so well done, acted and produced. Then, it just was cancelled out the blue. Was a huge effort to get it 'un-canceled' which happened. Who has seen the entire show from start to finish?

This show was great. Maybe even ahead of its time.

One of those odd shows I’ll re-watch every 4-5 years. I enjoy it. Would have been cool if they got a full seasons to wrap it up but I guess the shortened season was better than nothing. Think there were comics or something that continued a little of the story. Never read them

I read like the first issue or two but they had some pretty wild delays between issues and I kinda fell off. Anyone know if it's worth reading?

They were pretty bad. They did two “seasons” but they were one arc each, they tried to push the plot forward to the expense of really all good character work in the limited space they had. But then it still didn’t really wrap up the story in any satisfying way when all was said and done; kinda the worst of both worlds.

Wasn't cancelled out of the blue. A lot of good shows didn't make it out of the writers strike of 2008 or if they did they wound up like the tv show Heros that had such great potential and then just took a c*** after.

Great show. Joins a long list of "idea" television that had ambitious qualities.

Yes! OMG memories unblocked. Do you guys remember the nut campaign? Fans of the 2006 post-apocalyptic TV show Jericho famously sent over 20 tons (40,377+ pounds) of nuts to CBS executives in 2007 to protest the show's cancellation. Inspired by a character’s "Nuts!" retort in the season one finale, the campaign succeeded in getting the show renewed for a second

Show was waaaay ahead of its time. I’m friends with one of the leads. I bring this up often hoping that he’ll tell me they’re going to do a reboot.

Skeet? I used to be a Skeet superfan.

It was a good show. It would have been interesting to see the Second Civil War period explored. It might not resonate as much today because it’s very much a commentary on the GWOT era, with military contractors being the villains, occupying US towns and trying to take control of the country.

Me! I have both seasons on DVD. I think it was just ahead of its time - even just a few years later and it would likely have done gangbusters. It would be a perfect fit for the modern streaming era, like someone else mentioned Apple. Only problem is it'd be 8 episodes not 22.

Loved it. Just watched it, then I moved to under the dome and Falling Skies. I'd love to find more shows like that.

Loved it, I often think it'd be a hit on a modern streaming service like Apple TV that gives sci-fi stuff a place to grow

It dipped a little into soap opera territory, but when it was good it was red hot. If you squint you can read it as a great adaptation of Alas, Babylon.

I have. It's very saccharine and in the end comes across a bit like a Hallmark appocalyptia.

Absolutely loved it. Wish we could’ve seen more… they really set up a great third season exploring the larger world of the new “countries” beyond Jericho and Cheyenne, and it would’ve been fun to see them explore those dynamics.

It was a "I'll just check out this show at 10pm." Next thing I know is 3am and I'm telling myself I have to stop!

It was doomed when DB Sweeney was added to the cast.

I just remember that the one chick from Attack of the Show was in it.

It's a relic from the TechTV / G4TV days. I used to rush home from school to watch 'Xplay' and 'AOTS'

Huge fan of the show. Got me into the genre.  Not difficult to watch it start to finish - it’s only two seasons long.

Don't forget it also has a comic book continuation.

Honestly when you see the Nuke go off in the distance over Denver it's one of the most terrifying things i've ever seen on TV.

Fun fact for those who don't know they continued it in a comic series. No clue how easy it is to find though.
