Anyone love the animation style of invincible?

Invincible has the most basic ass animation style with little detail and shading. Sometimes they up the frame count and detail but most of the time it's mediocre to bad.

I can pretty often identify "c**** animation" moments and just shrug it off. But man, the Conquest fight looking so bad/blown out due to the lack of shadows legit pissed me off. "1 billion more for Rings of Power, we can't afford the animation budget of our most popular show though."

You don't even have to go to other shows, the amount movie actors they insist on using for the show is just stupid. Pro voice actors are cheaper and better. Thragg was a total miss for example, was he worth it?

It’s a shame this seems to be the compromise to get a season out every year, especially after how good Season 1 looked in comparison. I’m not super familiar with the creative process behind animation like this, but is it a budgetary thing too? Would more money/more animators be able to push the quality higher?

Mostly it's a time constraint, but time is basically part of the bugdet. You're paying animators throughout. More animators also cost money and don't necessarily linearly improve your productivity and quality.

Somehow castlevania has more still shots and more detailed fighting than one of amazons biggest hits

I kinda like that it looks like a forgotten early-2000s cartoon until the fights go feral. The contrast makes the gore hit harder. Imagine this budget in season one, though.

Season 1 of Invincible is still the best the series ever was animation wise.

I rate it way better than uninspired trashes like Solo Leveling or Sword Art Online. I mean if you outsource it to Japan and slash the the voice budget it could easily look 10x better than it currently is, or 5x better if it just has more time to animate. But Invincible at 1/10th its potential is already better than Solo Leveling at 100% because 99% of the meat is in the story and characters. They got fking Lee Pace to voice Thragg, this is why invincible is more like an actual live action tv show.

I quite like the artstyle (the characters look pretty ugly on Ottley's style), but dont like its painfully small amount of detail and shading.
