Ive been getting into movies and shortfilms more and more recently.
older movies, newer ones, and i find myself liking all different kinds of movies.
a friend told me about Apichatpong Weerasethakul, ive watched 3 of his shortfilms ( M Hotel, Meteorites, Mobile men) and they all REALLY bored me.
I dont know if im lacking a creative eye, open mind or film knowledge in general… now i dont know if i should even bother watching his longer films like Uncle bonmee or memoria or if those would also bore me but the boredom would last for over an hour and not just 3-20 minutes
I haven’t seen his films but I have seen an installation of his. It was about 17 years ago and it’s still something I can memory access pretty easily.

I really enjoy the meditative pace of his movies but it sounds like you would not. He does some really cool stuff with sound in Memoria but it is at a pace that is reasonable to find offputting lol.

I saw one of his films at a film festival. It was interesting but definitely a slow ass nothing happens vibes film. I'm kinda 50/50 on these kinda movies, have to be in the mood and even then it really depends on the movie. If you found his short films boring I don't know of you'll find his feature length stuff any better
