I’m bored and feeling a bit lonely, if you’re a yapper, tell me about your day or anything random. What did you do today? Anything funny or annoying happen? I’m down to talk about literally anything
My mom lives in Puerto Rico and I’m here in the states. We video chatted and I showed her how to apply false lashes (: it was cute.

That’s cute. Little moments like that matter when you’re far away. I could never do fake lashes, mascara is as far as I go lol

I yap for a living. I voice act, just got back from LA for the first time recording for a video game. Procrastinating a little now on sending emails.

Voice acting sounds cool! Do you have to warm up or rest your voice beforehand? Is it an easy job?

It's easy in once you get used to running the business side of things to actually land work consistently. Acting can be hard work sometimes like for video games where I play characters that are going through a variety of situations because it helps to physically act out those situations to make it sound good and screaming and jumping around for 4 hours (max session time usually) because it's an action game is kind of hard. To warm up i usually just do a tongue twister or two and drink water. Water is essential! Check out the battlefield 1 voice acting sessions video to see what I mean. That's an extreme example but it can be strenuous. https://youtu.be/8sZMSBtSFrg?si=PScsvWct6tPLujxZ

Done any audio books or similar? I love the ones with good voice actors and I always wonder what it's like actually recording those. I hope it's fun. Seems like it might be?

Ive done one audiobook and it was kind of enjoyable to me but I'm someone who likes a little more engagement in stuff. It was a book of positive affirmations for better mental health. I may get back into it and do more books. People keep saying I need to do more 😄. I just dont really care for reading through a story when I could be pretending to get blown up in a video game or run through a relatively quick and easy commercial or video narration. The book was actually my first paid job for Amazon's acx platform. I read through the book chapters while recording and then went through and edited my audio to meet their standards and have it sound nice. Updating the book owner through out to make sure they liked what they were hearing. I know that now that I could get to a position where I could just read the book and send off the audio to be edited I would probably enjoy that more. Audiobook narration is actually one of the more accessible aspects of voice acting. Check out acx if you're interested in going for it!

I’m currently dogsitting for 3 dachshunds, 2 are 9 years and 1 is like 15 years, they’re kinda cute but they have hemorrhoids and I have to put cream on their butts and it’s gross 💀

There's a weird random turkey who just roams my neighborhood and I saw it outside my window just now. There's also a big orange cat who hangs out in the exact same domain. The cat freaks me out sometimes because I have two orange cats who are strictly indoor babies lol. But the outside cat and the turkey seem to like, respect each other and get along? It's fascinating. My cats don't know what to make of the turkey when they see it from the window, but they're DYING to meet the cat.

It is a nice quiet day here at home. Just myself and the dogs most of the day. It is nice and sunny so I will take them for a walk once I get chicken for dinner marinated.
Oh, and my crow friends all showed up for fresh water and snacks this morning while I was watering and feeding my fish outside. There were 11 total crows and 2 Steller's Jays that came today. ❤️

Peaceful days like that are the best. I really need to appreciate the little moments
And 11 crows wow, do they come by every day? You must be the coolest house in the neighbourhood 🥰

They do some by most days. They were away for a bit due to a lot.of construction and house repairs on my street but came back in force once it was quiet enough again.
I don't know what it is but animals of all kinds flock to me when I am alone, just doing my thing. The animals here in Seattle are cool but when I am up in rural Canada I get to at least see or visit with them all. Waking up, walking a short trail to the water, watching otters, sea lions, orcas, eagles, squirrels, bunnies, etc is so peacefully magical.
If you have any outdoor area you can visit and just sit quietly it is worth the time spent.

That sounds amazing! We have some resident crows around our place, and I love watching them.
Last fall, we had a lot of figs in varying degrees of ripeness with many overly ripe. I was cleaning up dog 💩 in our yard and heard some birds flocking to the fig tree, which was about 12-15 feet from me. I stopped moving and just stood there watching. Cedar waxwings were everywhere. They were making these little sounds and flying in and out of the tree all around me. It was amazing. I had never seen the birds before, but they were on my list of birds to see, so that made even better. I can’t wait for this fall and hope they return and that I’m able to experience them again:)

It's been a day. I went to work and left early to grocery ship. Did the shopping and went home. Put them away, ate dinner, washed dishes and doing laundry. Living alone isn't fun but I'm getting by ok. Going to get my kids tomorrow from spending Spring Break with their mom.

hello my friendly stranger, regular day for me and someone held up a mirror to me. (I have a family and I support my family and do what I need to do and dont think of myself as "extra" hard working)
I picked up someone for rideshare (my side hustle) they asked about my day and found out i was doing a few share (before and after work), going to work and had a gig in my secondary creative career tonight.
They said I was "busy" and i said I never really feel stressed and am happy with what I do, and she told me she doesnt meet to many people that are happy with what they do.
It gave me such pause and reminded me to put any problem i have into a larger perspective.

I am! Loving the opportunity to connect, thank you much! My day was full today which was nice, I am sitting around in a lot of pain, waiting on a surgery to cage and fuse my lower back so I only work a shift or two a week now. The off weeks when my 12 yr old is with the ex-husband are brutal. I am so isolated and limited more than I've ever been! (Had my first major back surgery at 17 for context.)
Today however I had an appointment at the hospital for an iron infusion and it felt great to get out of the house, I was so motivated I was able to catch up on paperwork. Tidy up a bit and organized the house too. I felt nauseous from the iron all afternoon but pain level wasn't "have to lay down" crippling. We will see how I feel tomorrow, I typically over do and pay for it later. Fun facts about myself, I am a pain warrior and a survivor in recovery the past 7 years and life just doesn't quit being a challenge. Thank the gods I don't quit either. Hope everyone has a great rest of their FriYAY! :)

it's been coming up on two years now since I graduated with my art degree. I picked up painting again a few times, but every time I did I realized I was still burnt out.
today I picked up a brush again and got that rush of euphoria of painting again. the feeling I started it all for. I could almost cry, it was really lovely.

Not only am I a yaper, I type really fast so my Listnook answers tend to be pretty long-winded.
My wife and I decided to take today off (we have Mon-Fri jobs) to get a couple of things done...but mainly just chill out a bit.
Got a quote from a local landscaper to clean out my front and back flower beds (I have a mild herniated disc and the thought of doing this yearly chore is nauseating).
If I don't pay the $450 bucks to have someone else do it, I'll pay double that at the Chiropractors office over the next several months.
Also had my home's annual pest extermination done today.
I've been using the same exterminator for years, and he's a sweet old dude; while he was working in my garage, we got to talking about our parents and he spent about 15 minutes telling me about how his 80 year old father passed away this past December. This may seem kinda mundane, but I really enjoyed how he opened up to me - kinda like he needed to talk to someone about it.
Had a great salad for lunch, then took a nap.
Currently taking a break from planning a couple of trips - one this summer to Canada and the northeast region of the U.S. (Montreal, NY, Vermont, Maine, Boston), and another return trip to Europe in December (Paris, Belgium, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Salzburg, Munich.)
Weather's gotten a bit cooler here in Texas (probably the last bit of cool air we'll see until October) and we're planning on hitting up a patio tomorrow for some mexican food and margaritas with a couple of old friends.
Retiring next year (at 58), so I've also been doing a bit of financial planning - I'm in pretty good shape.
Hey, you asked!

Alright, preliminary yap. I have 5 cats, 2 black, 1 is a Bombay. He is very yappy himself. The other one is on the small side. Both are 10. Then there is a very vocal Sismese, my husband belongs to him. Next is the orange and white. He's either wildly sweet and cuddly. Or a total ass. And last but not least, the calico. She looks like the last cat made on Friday.
Id take more, but my husband would divorce me....

I recently impulse bought a keyboard from drop for its closing sale. Assuming I didn't order it too late (I'm half expecting an email saying they were actually out of stock, because it left my cart and I had to re-add it) I'll be getting a very moddable keyboard that's a step up from my keychron with some woodsy colored cover plates that'll match my wood veneer desk, kingdom come mousepad, and elder scrolls screensavers. Currently looking into good bang for your buck keycaps because I was too late on the clearance sale to get matching keycaps. Never thought I was much of a decorator but it's been nice taking control of my desk since I finally have some disposable income. Still feel guilty spending.
I've also been scrounging FB marketplace for a specific, nice office chair. Missed an opportunity to get one c**** yesterday because I took too long. Haven't bought from sources like that before anyway. I need to replace the chair I have because it kills my back.
Really what I need though is a new pc. My laptop is struggling. But that's such a big investment and it's such a uniquely bad (expensive) time to build one.

I finished pet sitting and house sitting for my neighbor today. I was there for a week over spring break. I love the animals, but im so so so glad to sleep in my own bed tonight. I was up every one to two hours letting the dog out or hearing cats meowing or doing the zoomies. It can be a lot. I don’t know how people have pets. I also was supposed to go to my brother’s bachelor party that starts today and goes till Monday. But my mental health is really unfortunate right now (a has been for over a year now) and i just don’t have the capacity to be there. I love him so much and i feel like I’m letting him down. Then i pulled weeds in the front yard. I also ate a burger and it tasted yummy. And an ice cream cone. Also delicious. I then watched a show and now I’m getting ready to sleep.
Overall im really tired of life, and i don’t even have one. It feels like im withering away. Any amount of social interaction sends me spiraling and needing to call a crisis line. I feel empty and broken. I have dreams though, and i want to do them someday. We’ll see.
Thanks for listening to me yapp about my day.
How are you?

I got unlimited yappuli energy! Last week I've been to the zoo with this lovely calm woman I sadly had to say goodbye to, we watched the new baby elephant and just stood there smiling like goofballs until our jaws hurt. Since then I kinda got exiled by my country and made new plans! I'm moving to another country to start a fresh life and learn my sixth language. Having some real inner peace and feeling jolly about this new chapter of my life.
Also I somehow keep managing to end up talking to store clerks about age and underestimating their age by about 10 years, makes them smile a lot!
Yesterday a seagull pooped on my shoe when I was out in nature and as I walked back to my grandmother's who is housing me, a lady and her dog walked past me and the dog started licking the seagull mess, I laughed, the lady had to force her dog away from my shoe and she laughed. The little joys in life are constant 😅
Last hour I told a dad joke to my grandmother and she rolled her eyes but ended up giggling. I asked her if she knew that Bruce Lee's less known cousin got into a car crash and is now a vegetable in the hospital. As she looked weird at me and said no? I told her they now call him Brocco Lee
