Argentina is one of the least contaminant countries in the planet already. Try telling Russia, India, China, USA or Germany to do their part.
And besides, this modifies a dumb law that basically said an arid rock that had ice on it thousands of years ago counts as a glacier and thus you couldn't mine around it. It was asinine.

Coincidentally, in January as group of US congressmen visited Argentina. They went to f****** Ushuaia of all places - if you don't know, it's like the southernmost place in Argentina, basically the antarctic seas - and talked about...mineral rights.
