Army Suspends Aircrew After Bonkers Kid Rock Helicopter Stunt

I doubt very much these folks just decided to do this stunt outside a washed up singers house on their own initiative. I would not be shocked if this was from Hegseth or the Army secretary.

From everything I've learned about the people who fly those things this was 100% done on orders, I hope the pilots are not used as scapegoats for Whitehouse incompetence.

Yes! A pilot does not decide where he’s flying and they sure as shit can’t just swipe the keys and take off.. there were multiple crews involved before that chopper took off.. they had flight orders from a commanding officer, a fuel crew, a pre determined flight plan..

Yeah, there’s no way the crew of the helicopter just decided to steal it and take it for a joyride. Somebody higher up was in on this. I have no idea how they thought this wouldn’t get scrutiny.

It was absolutely staged. The flight path that took them along the Cumberland River to buzz the No Kings rally was also intentional.

The military often doesn’t really micromanage some flights to that level. Like the flight going up will be preplanned and authorized but it’s a general familiarity/keep flight hours up plan. So you can mostly go where you want *within reason* and not a lot of people check up on what you did. We had F-18s out of Lemore than would be getting hours in and they’d just be meandering and sightseeing around the Sierras, Death Valley or maybe down to the Mojave. That’s where you get the famous SR-71 story of them mogging an F-18's speed check.

Military pilots pull stunts like this all the time, it just normally doesn’t make national news. 9 times out of 10 they draw a giant p**** with their flight path and some nerd with a flight tracker shows it to people on the internet. These guys need hours consistently to maintain ratings, they probably just filed the flight path and how would anyone approving know that that random point is kid rocks house? They wouldn’t.

They may not be college educated. The Army is the only service that does not require their pilots to have college degrees.

These dipshits probably got approval from their dipshit brass. This paints a much more serious and systemic problem.

They probably assumed Trump and Hegseth would be cool with it. But unless Trump or Petey gave the command, there’s going to be consequences.

These are Republicans. Even if convicted of a crime Republicans would just pardon them, give them back their pension, and a cushy foxnews job. Just look at Flynn. Or the active duty Jan 6 guys and Ashli Babbet for that matter.

Believe it or not, the standard for getting a job in the White House is “are you smarter than Kid Rock?” He’s the one MAGA celebrity who doesn’t meet the criteria.
