Don't forget Australia had the Bondi Beach shooting targeted at Jewish people less than half a year ago. That kind of thing isn't normal there so I'm sure that leads to different reactions than other countries because of that experience. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Bondi_Beach_shooting

So one is the call for the destruction of a nation and the other is a call for terroristic attacks.
In my country these slogans are illegal simply on the basis of calling for and condoning criminal acts in a manner capable of disrupting public order already being a crime. The antisemitism and incitement come on top of that.

Despite some of the comments here, the data actually shows a clear shift in public opinion, particularly among younger generations and as demographics change. This helps explain why some governments are becoming more illiberal: it can be seen as an attempt to maintain control over the narrative in the face of these changes.

> This helps explain why some governments are becoming more illiberal: it can be seen as an attempt to maintain control over the narrative in the face of these changes.
Eh, no. That wasn't why governments became more illiberal 100 years ago or why they're becoming more illiberal today. New media is enabling more extreme voices and allowing folks to surround themselves with a media bubble, the world order is degrading, the economic system is under strain and populist movements are becoming more popular.
Populist movements love to have a bad guy to demonize. That empowers populists on the right, and populists on the left, and becomes an excuse for anyone that feels that they represent the 'voice of the people' to start stripping away the checks and balances that protect us from devolving into illiberal societies.

Their currency completely collapsed for the second time in the 80s. They made massive changes that lead them to where they are today.
It's why their now considered the start up nation. With more start ups per capita than anywhere else. That foreign companies buy for billions.
Israelies create their own wealth. And without natural resources like oil... Which can't be said of the rest of the middle east.
Nvidia at end of 2025, so 4 or months ago, announced they are opening another massive campus for 10,000 more employees. CEO of Nvidia called Israel "Nvidias second home". In Dec of 2025. Strange to say that about a country that can't support itself...
Apple also opening yet another campus in Israel as well. And to top it off, Apples VP of RnD, is an Israeli Christian Arab. Born raised and educated in Israel. So much for that Israeli Jewish Supremecist c***.
So maybe you need to educate yourself before making yourself look foolish by following the anti Israel herd.

The phrase globalise the intifada is widely defined as a call to violence because it invokes the history of the Second Intifada, a period characterised by suicide bombings and lethal attacks against civilians. By calling to "globalise" these tactics, the slogan is interpreted as a direct incitement to export physical conflict and target Jewish communities on a worldwide scale.
Exactly what the bombers did.

Yes and no. If you take a strong free speech position, banning any slogan is wrong.
If you take a position that it is acceptable to ban some forms of speech, this slogan is calling for the outright destruction of a whole nation. At the most generous its calling for a policy that will result in that; and some people chanting it are naive, others relish the thought. So if, if, you support banning some speech you'll see this one targeted
116
badass_pandaApr 18, 2026
+11
It depends on what your position on free speech is. If you feel that there should be no limits on free speech, sure, OK. But if you believe that directly advocating for violence is something that can be banned (as is already the case in Australia and has been since its inception), that's a harder case to make.
You can't shout "fire" in a theater in Australia, you can't shout, "Hang all the politicians!" at a political rally, you can't spray paint, "Kill all Chinese," on the side of a Chinese-owned business... under the same principle, you can't say, "Ethnically cleanse all the Jews," or "Commit terror attacks against Jews everywhere, not just in Israel!" which is what these slogans mean.
11
RoseyOneOneApr 18, 2026

One phrase is for the destruction of a people and a nation and the other is a call for terrorism.
