Ben Affleck Gives Jennifer Lopez His Interest in $60 Mil Beverly Hills Mansion
Well, this is a shocker ... TMZ has learned Ben Affleck has handed over his entire interest in the $60 million mansion he bought with then-wife Jennifer Lopez ... and we're talkin' 10s of millions of dollars!

Article mentions they've been trying to sell the house publicly since July 2024, a month before they filed. He probably just wants to get rid of it at this point.

Honestly it's not something one thinks about, but those kinds of super fancy, ultra expensive mansions that cost this kind of money must be difficult to sell sometimes. Like, if I had a budget like that for a huge mansion, I'd be having it custom built to my specific tastes, versus buying an existing house. A lot of other people probably would too. A lot of $60M mansions owned by celebrities also have tons of the fancy/fun/OTT stuff, like movie theatres, pools, elaborate gardens with water features, etc etc. Some of which might be unappealing to buyers due to operating costs. There cannot be many potential buyers for a $60M mansion, lol. Wouldn't be surprised if they typically sit on the market for a very long time.
62
Summoarpleaz Apr 10, 2026 +14
I could see a scenario where even at a value of 60M, if sold, would still not cover the operating costs year over year. Giving up the interest may very well be a cost saving measure on his part.

Automatic_Soil9814 Apr 12, 2026 +2
In the houses I’ve seen like this, they typically have a household manager that’s confident and well compensated. The manager knows how to hire inexpensive Mexican labor to get all of the landscaping and pool maintenance send everything else done. At least, that’s how it works in California
2
Ironsam811 Apr 10, 2026 +5
Just because they moved out doesn’t mean there isn’t a huge upkeep to it
5
empire_of_the_moon Apr 10, 2026 +6
You would be shocked at how large the market is for homes above $20 million in certain places. In SoCal there are several hundred homes worth more than $60 million. A while back a single home supposedly sold for $200 million.
6
here-for-the-meh Apr 10, 2026 +9
“A home.” What’s the avg time on the market? Agree that there is a market in certain cites but just because it sold doesn’t mean quickly…
9
empire_of_the_moon Apr 10, 2026 +1
I don’t believe most of these make the mls. They are pocket listings sold via word of mouth. So that data wouldn’t exist. I’d say the only thing that is certain is that these are all cash deals. Possibly with a few exchanges as sweeteners.
1
Fickle-Attempt8648 Apr 10, 2026 +2
Same i’d like to know more if there is a large or small market for such mansions rather than building from the ground up

Where's all that batman money gone?

OrangeThrower Apr 10, 2026 +76
Prolly into the company that he sold for 600 million
76
thatstotallyracist Apr 10, 2026 +19
I'm confused because he just gave away 10s of millions to his ex wife to get the house sold and your question is where is his money? Clearly, he has enough to not need the money from the house.
19
jimgolgari Apr 10, 2026 +12
Seriously. If you have $600 and you can pay $30 to cut ties with your ex would you do it? Well, Ben Affleck just answered that question a thousand times.

doolittle_Ma Apr 10, 2026 +3
He didn't really make much money from the Batman roles compared with other established actors doing superhero movies like RDJ etc, since the second one flopped commercially. And that was 9 years ago. Since then he didn't really make big money. All his projects either was mid/small character driven pictures or flopped commercially because of pandemic and studio really didn't market.
3
here-for-the-meh Apr 10, 2026 +3
It’s doing just fine. Ofc he didn’t clear $600M but he’s good. [Ben Affleck Just Sold His Stealth AI Startup to Netflix for $600 Million.](https://www.inc.com/leila-sheridan/ben-affleck-just-sold-his-stealth-ai-startup-to-netflix-for-600-million-heres-what-it-actually-does/91315812)
3
doolittle_Ma Apr 10, 2026 +1
I am not talking about his AI company money. I am simply replying an earlier post that is irrelevant in this discussion that was asking "Where's all that batman mone gone". Very odd question. It's like he's literally giving away 10s of millions of money to her and someone was asking where had his Batman money gone.
1
here-for-the-meh Apr 10, 2026 +1
They assume he made his money from there. And Good Will Hunting. People love to think that some of th se actors are complete idiots or don’t work with competent advisors
1
doolittle_Ma Apr 10, 2026 +1
Some actors are really idiots, like Mick Rouke is an obvious one and possibly Brad Pitt I think before he was saved by his friends in the industry. But I think Affleck has been very careful with his money, even though it seems he is generous in nature, ever since he burnt through his half share of the Good Will Hunting screenplay money and he and Matt had to do construction jobs before Good Will Hunting started shooting. I still remember reading a gossip years ago that he cut his ex-wife's spending on furniture or decoration that was blabbed out by his then primary school daught Violet.
1
BrianOconneR34 Apr 10, 2026 +1
I’d assume still has it as he’s passing off a multi million dollar estate.
1
icemannathann Apr 10, 2026 +1
What? He still has tons of money lol
1
Positive-Drawing-281 Apr 10, 2026 +639
He recently sold his AI company to Netflix for 600 million, he can afford to give her his share of this huge house they can't sell.
639
dubate Apr 10, 2026 +237
There's most likely some tax implications of writing off $30 million in losses the same fiscal year you are about to come into a large sum of money.
237
UrLocalTroll Apr 10, 2026 +66
I’m guessing this will be considered a gift rather than a recognized loss.
66
WeakTransportation37 Apr 10, 2026 +26
And I wonder how much value this house is losing. She’s probably going to have to keep lowering the price to get it gone
26
userhwon Apr 10, 2026 +25
It was last listed at $52 million last summer and was delisted in January. The peak listing was $135 million in 2018, reduced to $75 million by 2023 and sold for $60 million 2 months later. He's giving her his half as part of a settlement. So he's likely getting something to offset it in the settlement. Probably she gives up any claims on his business interests or something like that.
25
yetzt Apr 11, 2026 +5
finally some affordable housing.
5
Takemyfishplease Apr 10, 2026 +4
I’m guessing it might be too much to count as a gift exemption
4
rostol Apr 10, 2026 -1
still a reduction in your capital ie a loss.
-1
DCtoMe Apr 10, 2026 +29
I’m not going to pretend that there might not be some crazy tax loophole out there, but gifts are not the same as losses. So it shouldn’t offset a large income year.  Or else families would just constantly gift other family members depending on income levels each year and file taxes separately
29
gogogadgets1997 Apr 10, 2026
You can gift up to $10,000 to an individual a year I believe. They write off the gift and it’s not taxable for the recipient if I remember correctly up to $10,000.
0
DCtoMe Apr 10, 2026 +5
Again, that’s not a write off on your income. It’s just a gift that is not taxed again to the recipient. And it’s $19k
5
PreparationFit6327 Apr 10, 2026 +3
You can use the lifetime gift exemption of 15million per individual
3
DCtoMe Apr 10, 2026 +2
That is before estate taxes kick in. Has nothing to do with income taxes
2
Lower-Engineering365 Apr 10, 2026 +1
This isn’t a loss from a tax perspective

HahaCharlieKirkHaha Apr 10, 2026 +10
Yes, it says that in the article. > As for why Ben had this burst of generosity ... well, dude is flush with cash, after selling his A.I. company -- InterPositive -- to Netflix last month for a reported $600 million.
10
LyingFacts Apr 10, 2026 +19
Holy shit I did not know that. Was he part owner, or full owner?
19
woot0 Apr 10, 2026 +25
that's up to $600 million if benchmarks, etc are met. Dude has been making blockbusters for 20 years, he has tons of money from his day job.
25
thegirldreamer Apr 11, 2026 +2
Part owner. Redbird Capital (the investors in his production company) have an AI arm that developed it. Affleck is the face of this but it wouldn’t shock me if he owned 25% or so.
2
doolittle_Ma Apr 10, 2026 -2
How do you not know. It was huge news a month ago. And he did all that in secret since 2022, because he knew as soon as the outside world learnt the company's existence, the sharks in Hollywood would absolutely tear his new company apart, for example offering higher salaries to his employees that he could never match, amongst other implications. So he hid it under plain sight until the timing was mature. This also answered an age old question: despite a permanent tabloid fixture for nearly 30 years and seemingly very public and over-exposed, he can be very secretive just as Fincher has noted a long time ago on Gone Girl's DVD commentary.
-2
SeminaryStudentARH Apr 10, 2026 +10
I feel like everyone has been underestimating since he played regular guy to Matt Damon’s genius in Good Will Hunting, and he has just been letting everyone think that all these. At the same time, he’s extremely smart.
10
doolittle_Ma Apr 11, 2026 +3
Matt has been strategic about his public perception ever since Good Will Hunting. Ben was cavalier about his fame after that. He really had to prove himself by starting directing and writing his own movies. He proved himself to the outside world and the industry his worth at his second Oscar win, but then bad habits and external circumstances quickly made the public forget that side of him after 2013, and the meme Affleck began to stick behind people's consciousness. After that, I am thinking perhaps he began to utilise this public perception by flipping it for his own benefit.
3
indoorhorizon Apr 10, 2026 +5
I still buy physical media but I still wish they'd give us a commentary option on some streaming platforms.
5
Hydration__Nation Apr 10, 2026 +4
They can literally market commentary and extra content for newly released films or shows. Unless they aren’t producing those types of commentary tracks anymore I don’t understand why they wouldn’t include it in a little tab on the movie or shows landing page

>TMZ broke the story ... when they bought the property in May 2023, they plunked down $60,850,000 CASH. On top of that, they spent millions of dollars on improvements. They've been trying to sell the house publicly since July 2024 -- a month before Jen filed for divorce -- but so far, no takers. >They initially asked for $68M, but lowered the price to $52M back in September, still with no luck. Only 52M? I think I’ll take it 😂
40
WayneKrane Apr 10, 2026 +31
Just $500k in property taxes every year for life. Or $40k a MONTH, forever.
31
offtodevnull Apr 11, 2026 +6
Those taxes will increase over time. Don't forget to add a few duckets for insurance & upkeep.
6
No_Abroad_6306 Apr 10, 2026 +10
What a bargain!
10
lunchypoo222 Apr 10, 2026 +7
Jesus, if I were to buy a house for 60mil, I’d be expect not to have to make ANY improvements
7
KoreKhthonia Apr 10, 2026 +3
At that kind of insane budget, I wouldn't be buying an existing structure at all, I'd be having my primary residence custom built to fit my tastes. The best way to get your dream home is probably to have it built to spec the exact way you want it, tbh.
3
tinywienergang Apr 10, 2026 +2
That’s ridiculous. If you have $60m to spend on a house, you’re gonna spend whatever else it costs to bend it to your will.
2
userhwon Apr 10, 2026 +3
They got it for $60 million when it was listed for $75 million, reduced ultimately from $135 million. It is probably not worth any of these numbers.
3
offtodevnull Apr 11, 2026 +2
It's worth what someone will pay and thus far that's less than they are asking.
2
userhwon Apr 11, 2026 +1
Generally. These properties get advertised worldwide, and they don't want to miss a whale who's carrying a mistaken impression.

Could Brad Pitt take notes? Bc while Ben may not know how to stay married, he is sooo f****** good at getting divorced.
119
omnipotentqueue Apr 10, 2026 -21
That winery and property was his passion project, and has gone on to acquire wealth and equity. We’re talking nearly $200 million in profits if there’s a sale. Do you think he’s just gonna let that go? GTFO…
-21
BigMax Apr 10, 2026 +45
How is he a moron? He was more pointing to the fact that Pitts divorce has dragged on for years with tons of crazy headlines and animosity and controversy, while Affleck seems to be having a more or less amicable split and seems to also get along with his ex.
45
binger5 Apr 10, 2026 +12
Ben probably didn't hit JLo, so it's easier to meet in the middle.
12
Strong_Vir59 Apr 10, 2026 -7
Brads didn’t hit Heroina. She on the other hand gloated about how she used to attack him during their marriage when she was angry. Thought it was so funny in an interview once. She’s as phony as those bolt ons she loves to show off.
-7
Educational-Wing2042 Apr 10, 2026 -1
I mean, Ben Affleck and J.Lo have had a shit ton of negative headlines and publicity surrounding the marriage. Last year every other video on social media was about them and how miserable they look and why don’t they just separate already
-1
lunchypoo222 Apr 10, 2026 +9
There’s a difference between having irreconcilable differences as Affleck/Lopez did, and abusing your wife like Pitt did. That’s a large chasm in types of negative press.
9
omnipotentqueue Apr 10, 2026 -6
That’s not the leading factor in this article (I’m assuming you read it all) - it’s that he gave up the interest in the house.
-6
Coriolanuscangetit Apr 10, 2026 +10
He made a property settlement to the satisfaction of both parties rather than prolong a difficult divorce. He did the classy thing. You know what’s not classy? Calling someone a moron. But good work editing that part out of your comment. Birds of a feather, I guess.

-6
Coriolanuscangetit Apr 10, 2026 +9
Your guy, Brad Pitt, is an abuser. He abused his wife and he abused his kids on that plane.
9
NOT-packers-fan2022 Apr 10, 2026 -2
That’s not proven to be true, but even if it is, that doesn’t mean he should roll over on the winery and allow her to violate the written agreements they had which were signed by lawyers that will cost him hundreds of millions. The better question is why didn’t she just sell it to him as agreed instead of choosing this very high conflict option that she had to know wouldn’t resolve itself for many years. There were many ways she could’ve sold this for market value and avoided all of this. But she chose the knife in the back option and is upset nothing has gone her way on it. 🤷🏾‍♂️.
-2
Coriolanuscangetit Apr 10, 2026 +4
1) yes, it’s true. Pitt abused wife and children on that plane. There is an FBI file on how he abused her and her kids on that plane. There are videos. There are photos of her injuries. Even Pitt’s lawyers didn’t try to deny it happened, they just tried to downplay how bad it was. Pitt went into AA afterwards even. You can google the FBI report. 2) Pitt and Jolie did not have a written agreement that she had to sell him her share of the winery. You can google it. He’s trying to say they had a “verbal” agreement, but could provide no proof of the verbal agreement. 3) Jolie DID try to sell to Pitt first, but he wouldn’t buy unless she signed an NDA saying she could never discuss his abuse of her and the kids. She said no to that. So she sold to someone else. 4) A judge signed off on Jolie selling to someone else before she ever sold it. So it’s not like Pitt didn’t know she was going to sell to someone else. He had already passed on the sale. This wasn’t a “knife in the back” scenario. 5) the fact that Pitt is still bothering this woman, after all this, shows that it’s not about money for him. It’s about control. He is using money and the media to continue his abuse, and by not being informed, you’ve become an unwitting accomplice to his continued abuse.
4
NOT-packers-fan2022 Apr 10, 2026 +1
Had it been proven in a court of law? No. If there was such over whelming evidence it would’ve been prosecuted, a la Jonathan majors. Since it’s not proven in court, why not sign the nda? She’s literally never discussed it anyway, it would not apply to the kids and it’s generally agreed parents shouldn’t bad mouth other parents anyway. What’s the benefit in NOT signing it? Verbal agreements are enforceable by court, so if he believes he has one then he should protect his rights. 🤷🏾‍♂️
1
Coriolanuscangetit Apr 10, 2026
The FBI file doesn’t question the veracity of what happened. Neither does Pitt or his lawyers. We may never know why the FBI chose not to prosecute, but this is a really for a lot of women and children - our abuse doesn’t always see a courtroom. That doesn’t make it any less real.
0
Strong_Vir59 Apr 10, 2026
Pitt is not bothering this junkie. And yes, she is a junkie-just good at masking it until recently. She broke an agreement and has to answer for that like everybody else. The FBI and DFS said that there was no abuse after investigating, btw.

He’s trying to clean up his image. Needs to cut ties with his toxic pattern of women. It’s also why he ignored Blake Livelys emails for help taking over a movie. He’s trying to move on. Dude has gone out of his way to make his life hard. When you struggle with addiction and questionable morals, it’s hard to not let that ruin your life completely. Ben needs to clean up his image and change his patterns or he will keep digging his hole. His kids will thank him for it.

His pattern of making half a bilion in selling a AI tech firm he invested in and devellopped in the last few years. I guess he could try making less money. Must take some effort. He\`s been doing OK , I'm not worried about him...

There isn't enough money in the world to fill the vacuum inside him. Same as most rich fucks, regardless of how they got there.

Blake Lively was bad news. He knew it. In fact he very much admitted so some months ago with sources on Daily Mail that Jennifer Garner, his ex-wife, was part of the reasons that he didn't really reply Lively. There was a blind item on Laineygossip in 2012 that Lively's husband Ryan Reynolds tried to star a movie with Ben, but Jennifer Garner, at the time still his wife, forbade him to take up the offer, else she would leave. The reason being that she knew Blake Lively wasn't discreet and would ruin marriages along the way. She was this messy that even doing a movie with her husband would risk your own marriage to your own husband.

Meaning he doesn’t want to pay his share anymore…

If they're trying to sell the house, it also means he won't get the proceeds. Ultimately this is two rich people dividing assets. I assume everyone involved is fine financially and it doesn't make all that much difference. It is still good when two people who share children don't pick unnecessary fights about money.

This. First, the money involved is pocket change for them. Second, he's got business interests, and if she's getting this and promising not to go after a share of those, he could be up on the deal overall. Just make the whole thing simpler and get it over with quickly, is a good plan.

Weird way to find a way to blame a man here when he’s losing potential 30 million dollars.

What we really want to know is if he responded to Blake Lively’s “don’t hang up” email 🤭
