Best Piece of television you discovered last year (in 2025)

Posted by Real_Fact8484

As the title suggests, I am looking for the best thing that you discovered last year; for example, lets say u just discovered \*\*Dexter\*\* (2006), or if you just watched \*\*Sons of Anarchy\*\*, and you found out about it last year. So for you, those could be your greatest finds of 2025. For me, it's definitely \*\*Taskmaster\*\* with Greg Davies, not any spin-offs, I'm not downing the spin-offs, but I accidentally watched most of the Australian Taskmaster (episode 1)lol...., which I didn't cafe for. I binged basically the whole series and caught right up to the present one, Overall, that series was just freaking great. Had me rollin' a lot of the time, and that was my introduction to Greg Davies too, I love that guy! So what is your great discovery of 2025?

Mr Inbetween, I started seeing clips of it while doom scrolling & figured I'd check it out before I saw it all in 30 second clips, well worth it.

Scott Ryan’s performance as Ray is incredible. He’s a fantastic actor, and it shocked me when I went to his wiki and saw that Mr Inbetween and The Magician (movie the show is based on) are all that he’s written/starred in. Hope to one day see him again on screen or behind the camera!

terra_cascadia Mar 22, 2026 +23
He’s working on something new right now. Can’t wait.
23
O7Habits Mar 22, 2026 +21
…and he seems so familiar, like you’ve seen him in plenty of other things.
21
Mad_broccoli Mar 22, 2026 +35
I don't answer questions. But seriously, the scene with the bullies that's ultra popular on YT gets you to start watching and then you realize it's not even a top 20 moments in the show. The body chopping scene had me laughing for 5 minutes straight.

O7Habits Mar 22, 2026 +30
Great show

forkandspoon2011 Mar 22, 2026 +10
The most bingeable show maybe ever created. The pacing just makes it perfect. That ending too...

PancakeExprationDate Mar 22, 2026 +10
What's wild is that each episode is so finally crafted that there is no wasted dialog. Even at 30 minutes, they seem like a regular 45 min to an hour long episode.
10
Waynky Mar 22, 2026 +10
Top tier show. One of those shows that feel so “real”. Conversations feel natural, dialogues great, etc
10
PancakeExprationDate Mar 22, 2026 +8
I was coming in here to say this. I hope he decides to pick it back up. In my humble opinion, this show is better than something like Breaking Bad. And Gary??? Now that's a dude you want as a best friend.

jakeopolis Mar 22, 2026 +8
I came here to say this. One of the best tv shows I’ve ever seen in my life, I loved every second of it.
8
Siguard_ Mar 22, 2026 +23
I just finished. It felt like Loudermilk and Barry combined
23
sleazysuit845 Mar 22, 2026 +5
LOVED this show. Sucks the creator hasn’t done anything since
5
OldBillBatter Mar 22, 2026 +132
Halt and Catch Fire. It took me a few episodes to really get into it, but then I got quite hooked and binged it hard. Extremely well written, and it gives me some Mad Men vibes, but in an industry I'm far more interested in and a time period I mostly lived through.
132
pushdose Mar 22, 2026 +26
Incredible show. The leads absolutely give masterclass performances. The supporting cast is just as good. Lee Pace is electrifying in this role. It’s also timeless, because it nails the period setting so well. It is the “Mad Men” of tech.
26
EggCollectorNum1 Mar 22, 2026 +7
It’s such a good show
7
Tylerdurden2346 Mar 22, 2026 +8
Brilliant show, one of my favs, this would have been by answer for the same post for 2024

I love that show! AMC is launching another series exploring Silicon Valley. It's called The Audacity and it starts in April.

Take a drink every time someone says cocksucker and you’ll have alcohol poisoning before the end of a single episode.
8

Okay, but more importantly is he a San Francisco cocksucker?

OilInternational2566 Mar 22, 2026 +208
Honestly, the best show I discovered recently that I’ve never heard about, & never saw, was “Futureman” with Josh Hutcherson. I literally watched the entire first season in 2 days. It was so funny. (..the episodes are only 30 minutes.) eta: it’s like “The Boys meets Ready Player One + time travel,” but crazier. And it has a great cast. Josh Hutcherson, Keith David, Eliza Coupe, Derek Wilson, Ed Begley Jr., Glenne Headly, Haley Joel Osment…
208
Competitive_Bear24 Mar 22, 2026 +40
lol this is a good one. S2 was a bit meh for me but S3 was back to the same great shit S1 had!
40
OilInternational2566 Mar 22, 2026 +11
Yes, I’m finding season 2 not as outrageously hilarious as season 1. It’s funny, but not as irreverent as 1. But thanks for letting me know season 3 gets back to the old ways. I’m almost done in season 2.
11
decidedlyindecisive Mar 22, 2026 +5
It doesn't get back to the old ways IMO. If anything, it gets weirder. I loved it though
5
Toastedpubes Mar 22, 2026 +15
Rathole to rathole?
15
sweendog101 Mar 22, 2026 +11
So I cannot even watch this on Hulu without paying 2.99 and it’s a Hulu original correct?
11
Sparrow1989 Mar 22, 2026 +9
One of my favorite shows of all time. Wolf is an amazing character.
9
forkandspoon2011 Mar 22, 2026 +6
Love this show, the marketing for the show was so bad... It was all about how some guy playing video games was the main character.
6
ImArcherVaderAMA Mar 22, 2026 +6
I've had this is my watchlist for a long time. But to call this crazier than The Boys...damn...I'm gonna have to move this way up on the list now!
6
gnordy66 Mar 22, 2026 +239
I started watching For All Mankind. It is a bit slow to start, but it does such a great job paying off storylines.
239
Siguard_ Mar 22, 2026 +69
Hi Bob. Wait till you get to _that_ storyline.
69
RJWolfe Mar 22, 2026 +20
Don't you f******, 'Hi Bob' me.
20
Amazing-Heron-105 Mar 22, 2026 +72
This show started well for me but I think it quickly became a soap opera.
72
jbrun10120 Mar 22, 2026 +30
Certainly a soap but I stay for the awesome what is history and some of the best season finales on TV. Can't see it making it another season though.
30
BorkStimpson Mar 22, 2026 +7
I really like it but yea it’s really stretching thin. Hopefully this next season reels it back in to make it a solid last run
7
Velascus Mar 22, 2026 +131
Izombie. After watching some episodes I noticed the same people behind Veronica Mars were behind this show, and it shows, in a good way. Not just in the style of the show, but also those actors showing up from time to time. It's a fun episodic detective show with a twist of the main character being a zombie and taking over the characteristics of the victims whose brains she eats.... It's sort of a Buffy mixed with Veronica Mars. Loving it.
131
Meat-Dimension Mar 22, 2026 +16
This was such a peak era for CW. I watched all the DC CW shows and iZombie was on right after
16
cc81 Mar 22, 2026 +12
I really enjoyed the first 2-3 seasons but then it lost me. But those first season were very charming
12
AthleticAndGeeky Mar 22, 2026 +12
So much fun! The wife and I made it our guilty pleasure show, it doesn’t take itself too seriously and was interesting enough we ended up binge watching a whole season I think pre covid?
12
night_breed Mar 22, 2026 +19
I watched it when it aired and it started out SO good then it leaned too far into the comics and stopped being fun.......at least for me
19
scenic_sardine Mar 22, 2026 +8
I miss iZombie! The CW had a good run in the mid-late 2010s
8
mr_ji Mar 22, 2026 +3
I went through the same thing ten years ago!
3
theevilgiraffe Mar 22, 2026 +3
Love this and Veronica Mars! So glad you found it. I love all the characters so much.

bakeranders Mar 22, 2026 +279
Slow Horses! I have always liked spy shows/movies this one really doesn’t well! We all know the Brit’s created the spy game as we know it. This show features that, shows you the inner workings, infighting that takes place and keeps it light with great British humor but still brings the drama and weight of the seriousness of the subject matter. Gary Oldman doing a fart joke is literally top tier Also, honorable mention for The Agency while we’re on the topic of spy shows! Fassbender knocked it out of the park as per usual
279
Tapeworm1979 Mar 22, 2026 +73
"who the f*** hates penguins?" "Batman?" 😂
73
pushdose Mar 22, 2026 +25
And their release schedule is absolute class. New seasons dropping faster than any other prestige TV series.
25
elevenofthem Mar 22, 2026 +17
Colbert did an interview with Oldman where they added Slow Horses-esque farts to his movies, and Oldman is crying laughing from it. I loved watching this so much. https://youtu.be/GvRVJ8g2nnk?si=OybuJvSOjvWmQc3Q&t=570 Also the Churchill one was really great.
17
i_am_voldemort Mar 22, 2026 +46
Slow Horses is amazing. As someone who works in gov it's one of the most realistic displays of incompetence, bureaucratic infighting, and Peter principle you will ever see. "Moscow rules watch your back, London rules cover your ass"
46
achillea4 Mar 22, 2026 +10
Arse not ass!
10
Meat-Dimension Mar 22, 2026 +15
Yeah I watched one episode and within a week I’d binged the whole series
15
broccoliisbest Mar 22, 2026 +77
Search Party for sure! I had seen season one a while back but finally saw it all now that it’s on Netflix. So flipping funny
77
night_breed Mar 22, 2026 +9
It got better? I watched season 1 when it aired and loved it. Season 2 lost me somehow
9
Gondorrah Mar 22, 2026 +7
S2 was an awkward transition I think but the overall trajectory throughout all of the seasons became incredible
7
broccoliisbest Mar 22, 2026 +6
Yea. I also struggling the first time with season two. I couldn’t get past the inevitability of the ramifications of season one. So I was just stressed out. But I’m glad I pushed through this time!
6
forkandspoon2011 Mar 22, 2026 +5
I love when a show takes chances, and that's pretty much all this show does... wild chance after wild chance.
5
alexlp Mar 22, 2026 +8
I love how the seasons continue to escalate. I won’t expand further but it’s such a great show and a very fun rewatch.
8
Gondorrah Mar 22, 2026 +3
Yes! This show deserves so much more appreciation than it gets because of how you kinda need to watch it to the end to appreciate how amazing it is
3
Starkatt01 Mar 22, 2026 +96
Peacemaker with John Cena. So much better than most other DC stuff. I thought it was hilarious and clever and Cena has no problem poking fun at himself. And Eagly!!
96
Real_Fact8484 Mar 22, 2026 +13
Very true, on all points....one of the best pieces of television out there
13
garitone Mar 22, 2026 +8
S1 intro is a no-skip and introduced me to Wig Wam. S2 intro is good too, but it introduced me to the *even more* awesome Foxy Shazam (which is now on regular rotation in my playlists).

Me and the gf started watching buffy together, at first it was a bit cheesy and I wasnt to keen but after sticking with it with, both fell in love with the show!
82
thewilldog Mar 22, 2026 +15
You'll have to start watching Angel soon or else miss out on the crossover episodes. Loved Buffy so much. Was a little worried the reboot might be bad. Guess that's no longer my problem.
15
theonewhoknock_s Mar 22, 2026 +10
I JUST started watching Buffy yesterday for the very first time. Yeah the first few episodes feel a bit cheesy, but I was in the right mood to really enjoy those episodes. Excited to see what's coming next!
10
sorcerousmike Mar 22, 2026 +10
Buffy and its spinoff are unironically my favorite tv shows! I just rewatched them last year and it’s crazy how well they hold up!
10
smithnugget Mar 22, 2026 +5
I'm trying to figure out how someone could ironically have a favorite show
5
Real_Fact8484 Mar 22, 2026 +12
Omg! What a great series/find. Up next should b *Angel*😃 Thank you so much for the share!
12
Tylerdurden2346 Mar 22, 2026 +4
Glad you loved it, i think everyone ends up liking Buffy by the end, it has something for everyone you should watch Angel, its really good too
4
Calcutec_1 Mar 22, 2026 +305
Easily The Pitt. It’s just so well made, no bullshit, engaging, thrilling and entertaining television. I have never rewatched a season while it is still running but im doing it now with this show, it’s that good!

Interview with a Vampire. Can't wait for season 3!
50
night_breed Mar 22, 2026 +8
My wife is a MASSIVE Anne Rice fan ( has all of the Vampire Chronicle books) and lives for this show as well as Mayfair Witches
8
50ShadesOfKrillin Mar 22, 2026 +6
I started watching it last year at the behest of a lady friend I had a huge crush on at the time. By the time she called to see where I was in the show, I had already finished both seasons. Sam Reid is a f****** insane actor also Uncut Gems is one of my favorite movies, so I was hyped to see Eric Bogosian again
6
TroldenHS Mar 22, 2026 +172
Definitely The Leftovers for me! Grabbed me from episode 1, it’s absolutely perfect throughout, and has one of my favorite series finales I’ve ever seen.
172
Mr_Soleil Mar 22, 2026 +24
The Leftovers was fantastic, and the other outstanding one was Jury Duty, which was really unique and funny.
24
ContestAntique7179 Mar 22, 2026 +8
I thought Jury Duty was an interesting concept, until I realized that the guy needed therapy after the show was over.
8
forkandspoon2011 Mar 22, 2026 +12
That first season is so self serious, once they drop that it becomes next level.

What We Do in the Shadows. Became one of my favorites in just a couple episodes
38
xRyozuo Mar 22, 2026 +18
Kevin can go f*** himself I enjoy a lot of sitcoms as background noise and this was an interesting use of the genre stereotypes interlaced with drama stereotypes A shame it didn’t get a s3, it could’ve followed the Thelma and Louise route
18
O7Habits Mar 22, 2026 +55
I’m not positive it was 2025 but if not it’s the last most recent show that surprised me in a good way…. Patriot
55

It’s such an interesting and unexpected show. I watched it a couple years ago and still think about it regularly
15
jollywandering Mar 22, 2026 +5
Whenever I see someone on a show or movie knock someone out with one lunch, I think to myself, “It takes 17 punches to knock someone out!”
5
palebleudot Mar 22, 2026 +7
One lunch? You must have meant breakfast — a whole spread.
7
qctireuralex Mar 22, 2026 +17
i held back on watching Ted Lasso for so long. its deserves all the praises its getting.its hitting all the right emotions for me. they do a great job with all the chaeacters relationships. im only early into season 3 so far. absolutely great show. im Canadian so soccer/football is definitly NOT deeply ingrained in my culture like it would for other countries. but thats absolutely NOT a matter for this show. They make it very clear that Ted doesnt know shit about football. what he knows is People and that makes him a fantastic coach.
17
rumplebike Mar 22, 2026 +16
Wonder Man was great. Nice series about a struggling actor. Nice to see Marvel explore characters like this.
16
Real_Fact8484 Mar 22, 2026 +4
Thnx for the kudos, I'll hafta check it out. tbh it wasn't really on my radar, I'm always iffy about marvel/DC stuff. I mean, I will get to watching their stuff, just not in a rush to. But people have been suggesting that a lot, so I'll definitely give it a watch
4
MattTreck Mar 22, 2026 +42

I love that show. Watched it when it was released because I'm a huge fan of Steven Soderbergh. A shame it only got two seasons but IIRC they are working on a third season now with Berry Jenkins

7kcits Mar 22, 2026 +31
The last kingdom for 2025, and one that's not last year but early 2026, knight of the seven kingdoms. Can't believe it took me damn near 10 years to commit to watching The Last Kingdom. Heard about it all the time and saw it on Netflix 24/7, but never bothered. Such a good show that delivers across the board and doesn't really lack anywhere (outside of maybe a relatively weak-ish season and definitely the sequel movie). Knight of the seven kingdoms is such a fun show. Hate the current trend of short seasons but in this case I guess it's understandable given the source material, nonetheless definitely gearing up to be one of the best shows of 2026.

5
minaisasminadoes Mar 22, 2026 +54
Aside from the usual suspects like The Pitt, I was surprised by how good Chad Powers was. That show got out of me some of the most genuine LOLs in the last few years.
54
BigMax Mar 22, 2026 +16
Tough one to pick up because for some reason, Glen Powell gets a LOT of hate on Reddit. It's pretty weird how angry people get here whenever his name comes up.
16
Duffalpha Mar 22, 2026 +11
I had absolutely no idea who he was. Never seen him before. Then I saw him in both the Running Man, and Chad Powers in the same week... And in both, it's a major plotline that he always needs to be putting on silly disguises in tense comedic situations in order to survive. So now I just know him as the guy who puts on costumes... He's great at it, and I look forward to more media in which Glen Powell has to put on funny mustaches to avoid murder and larceny.
11
TobyFunkeNeverNude Mar 22, 2026 +6
You should watch Hit Man on Netflix. It's got Glen Powell. It's got costumes. Sounds like it's right up your alley.
6
Duffalpha Mar 22, 2026 +3
I'm watching it solely based off your comment. If he doesn't put on at least one silly costume, I'm coming back here in 8 hours and downvoting you.

It’s much better than I expected it to be. Pretty short, too.

51
Agent-Blasto-007 Mar 22, 2026 +10
Yeah same here. It didn't look like "my kind" of show but I watched it because of the hype. Good God is that show amazing
10
NativeMasshole Mar 22, 2026 +7
Himmel's philosophy is always top tier. I just watched the new episode yesterday where he explains why he (and now Frieren) will accept even the most worthless of rewards because >!they don't want the people they help to feel like they owe them anything.!< Dude's always just got this amazing slice of wisdom that perfectly encapsulates heroic ideals.

Last One Laughing. Such a simple little show, with a premise that feels cheesy. But it's absolutely hilarious. It's not deep or 'meaningful' like The Pitt or Severance or Pluribus or any of those, but it's such a simple, fun, great show. And once I found it - there's a bunch of old seasons across different countries too.
14
achillea4 Mar 22, 2026 +13
Slow Horses. Binged it all in 2 weeks. Absolutely the best thing I've seen for years.
13
Nightgasm Mar 22, 2026 +38
Southland It came to Netflix recently I just finished all five seasons. As a retired cop it's easily the most realistic cop show I've ever seen and nothing else even comes close. It unfortunately got cancelled after season 5 and ends on some major cliffhangers.
38
haverchuck22 Mar 22, 2026 +7
Forgot about that show. It was gnarly.
7
grump66 Mar 22, 2026 +4
I'm glad you posted this. I've always suspected that about "Southland" being really close to the reality of policing. I've watched it all the way through a few times, it is so good.

The Detectorists. I tried it years ago and didn’t really like it. After enjoying the new series Small Prophets (also written by Mackenzie Crook) I gave it another go and binged the lot.

Shorsey. I now love senior whale shit hockey.
34

I like it. Started it last week.im on season 4 now. I don't even watch hockey.
7
gordie1950 Mar 22, 2026 +9
I Think You Should Leave! Series makes me laugh to tears. Tim Robinson is brilliant. The writing is absurd comedy at its best.
9
UnsignedRealityCheck Mar 22, 2026 +10
Unforgotten. A crime show where they have six episodes per deason, and they focus only on one old cold case that unravels slowly and binds many people all over the country in one single event in the end. Really good.
10
Geekslinger Mar 22, 2026 +9
Somebody Somewhere. Hidden Gem that is a very funny heartwarming small town slice of life vibe. Highly recommend it.

I decided to give the Ted series a shot after seeing some clips and I could not believe how good it was. Jokes were funny, not too many irrelevant gags that are common in Seth MacFarlane shows. Every member of the family absolutely crushes it.
20
iamnotasloth Mar 22, 2026 +18
Severance. Easily in my top 3 TV shows of all time. Can’t wait for season 3.

Superman and Lois. I didn't watch it when it aired because I was completely burned out on anything Arrowverse. Saw a few light spoilers from Season 4 and decided to check it out. It's definitely a CW show, but among one of the better ones. Absolutely my favorite portrayal of Superman/Clark and Lois Lane
9
m_Pony Mar 22, 2026 +33
the UK version of Ghosts. it's absolutely perfect.
33
Ultramass Mar 22, 2026 +31
Foundation. I just can’t say enough good things about it. It’s got the big budget sci-fi total package. Acting and writing are on point. Visual SFX are fantastic. Pacing is excellent. I’m only through season 2 at this point, but I can’t help but sing its praises.

The quality varies wildly. Basically only the Empire stuff is actually good. I still like the show

Lee Pace has never disappointed me. Even in terrible media he still gives it his all

It didn’t come out this year but the show From Is fantastic. Sure it has its annoying things like not answering questions while giving us more questions in the process but I’m really enjoying it and excited for season four.

I still haven't watched it. I appreciate the kudos tho, I do have it on my watchlist. And I will get around to it, for sure Thanks for the share!

I can't wait for S4 omg, I love that show so much. Gonna rewatch the first 3 prior to 4, whenever it finally drops

Whilst The Pitt takes my top spot, I would like to offer a second. Paradise. This show is batshit crazy in a way I really enjoy. The whole concept is expectation subversion. Is it top-quality? No, it has a LOT of contrivance baked in. But the twists that keep popping up puts it in my list.

The Shield. One of the great police action series. It is underappreciated, but in my opinion it is as good as the Wire.

Arcane. I have never played a millisecond of League of Legends. Netflix really said "Hey let's take League of Legends and make one of the greatest pieces of f****** cinema ever because we can". It continuously blew my expectations out of the water, and it was all I could think about for weeks.

GrossenCharakter Mar 22, 2026 +6
The interchanging twins task in Taskmaster season 20 is probably the best segment of the entire show I've watched, just so much fun and chaos! I'm also new to the show and I'm obsessed lol

I finally decided check out Lost last year, and that show had a profound effect on me. I've always heard about it being a popular show, but I didn't expect all those philosophical themes about science vs faith, good vs evil. Loved it. "I don't understand." is a line that has stayed with me ever since, and I find myself thinking about the sadness of it quite often. As for new shows/seasons that came out last year, it's gotta be Andor s2. What an experience!

Hands down, the live-action One Piece. I'm old, do not read manga or watch anime, have never heard of One Piece, and went in blind. I can't really explain it. The positivity, the action, the tear-jerking moments, the crazy sets and effects... I don't know what it is about it, but I can't get enough. Already blown through season two and cannot wait for the next, and season two was just released.

I’ve not watched season 2 yet, but season 1 was enjoyable to me. It is pretty much one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever watched. But I kept watching, and found myself enjoying it.

New shows in 2025 would def be The Pitt, i adore that show Overall my greatest find was My So Called Life, didnt know anything about it and it ended up being a top 5 show ever for me

Pluribus was easily the best show I watched last year Righteous Gemstones is also a 10 out of 10. It ended last year but there’s 4 hilarious seasons of it. I’d probably say Pluribus is an objectively better show, but Gemstones probably ranks higher in my all time favs.

The Capture. Learned about it from this here sub, and there was truth in advertising: it's an incredible drama. Well-written, well-acted, and very relevant. Great stuff.

I didn’t really “discover” it as much as I “highly anticipated it” But the animated adaptation of The Might Nein is SO freaking good. Admittedly I’m biased because I love the original campaign But they’ve done an *excellent* job adapting it to animation and I cannot wait for season 2.

Not quite the parameters as OP asked but I am re-watching Battlestar Galactica. 2004. I remember enjoying it with my friends when it came out. It was one of the last shows that we had to make plans to get together to watch the show or we missed the episode. It is actually so much better than I remember it being and I really liked it at the time. Both the special effects and the story have held up really well in the twenty years since it was made.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds. The new Star Trek stuff on Paramount has mostly been pretty bad IMO so I’d written it off as just more of that but on a whim gave it a chance and it’s really the classic Trek I always liked

dorohedoro. It is like a weird mix of Akiria animation with the storytelling and humor of the Heavy Metal movie. Season 2 is finally coming out next month.

M: Son of the Century, about Mussolini. Great acting, especially from the lead. Really high energy direction, reminds me of Baz Luhrman in a good way, and does a fantastic job of capturing the descent into madness of fascism

Started watching Slow Horses and Doom Patrol last year, and since then both of these shows (especially Slow Horses!) have become two of my recent favorite shows. Doom Patrol S1 & 2 was probably some of the very best superhero TV seasons for me, and Slow Horses is simply mindblowing OUTSTANDING, and unbelievably, keeps getting better with each new season! Also watched the first season of The Studio, and easily it is one of the literal falling down-laughing-out-loud-like-a-madman funniest TV seasons I've enjoyed in a long, long time. Eagerly waiting for the S2.

Palanki96 Mar 22, 2026 +4
Probably Norsemen (Vikingane) and The Dekameron Both historical. Perfect mix of humor and brutality for me. Both also very surprising in quality Pretty mad Norsemen was cancelled and the last season was a Season 0 prequel instead of a real Season 3. Season 2 ended after some big things happening, plot twists that will never get resolved

someguyfromtecate Mar 22, 2026 +4
Primal. The animation is great and it’s amazing how good the story is with zero dialogue. I’ve come to endear myself so much with the characters that each episode stresses me out so much because I worry about them.

Andor. I had serious Star Wars fatigue and this series was so refreshing. Great show.

OP if you like Taskmaster, check other UK panel shows. Its what made me watch: Would i lie to you 8 out of 10 cats does countdown Qi Big quiz if the year (and various spinoffs) I now cannot wait for new episodes for above shows and prioritize watching them over all else.

The Penguin by far. Very raw and brutal cinematic universe and this show takes it to another level. Several gut wrenching plot twists throughout the season.

Hal & Harper (2025). It’s a miniseries by Cooper Raiff (The one who did Cha Cha Real Smooth and Shithouse) and it’s great!! The performances from Mark Ruffalo and Lili Reinhart are what I remember the most.

The Death of Bunny Munro. Matt Smith is phenomenal. It’s very bleak. I cried. A lot. It’s hauntingly accurate at depicting narcissistic parents, the normalisation of chaos during childhood, grief and bereavement, dissociative addiction, and generational trauma. It broke my heart watching Bunny’s son desperately keep faith in his father. I found it a sobering reminder of the importance of accountability and personal responsibility, lest our demons consume us - and others around us. At the same time, I found something reassuring in terms of success being relative. None of us get to choose our parents, our traumas, or the impact they have on us. But simply creating some stability and a form of peace is a success I never would’ve considered a few years ago. I’ve a way to go. But I’m closer to Yvonne than Bunny. There’s solace in that.
