at least it will be adapted from a respectable source. not like writing new materials to make a new season to make bucks. hopefully there will be a decent closure this time cause second season didnt end very well for me. i loved season 1 ending.

I couldn't believe they just left it where they did, I was devastated when my wife told me that was the end.

I thought it was a pretty weak ending. Especially in regard to Reese Witherspoon’s character. Her entire character is working to be more honest with her husband and she promised “no more lies” while also not telling him about the murder they covered up. Then they all go to the cops feeling good about themselves and I’m like…. Adam Scott is gonna divorce your ass and you’re gonna deserve it.

I just didn’t watch S2. S1 was a good ending.

>not like writing new materials to make a new season to make bucks someone on r/biglittlelies pointed out that the book synopsis references something that’s only in the show and not in the books, and apparently the writer said she’s adapting the story more to the tv show… so let’s see how it goes

The original cast of kids are older than teens, now right? I feel like this is late to do another season.

Tell that to the cast of Yellowjackets. Five of the teenage characters are played by women 29 and older

Hell the actress who plays Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Kathryn Newton, is still playing teenagers.

I checked every one of them are 18 outside of the kid who played Ziggy who is 17 so still very much in teendom and could realistically play a couple years younger if need be. Tho they could also just recast.

That’s exactly why it’s time for a new season

This should have ended after the excellent season 1. Season 2 was pointless

> The book synposis reads: “The last time we saw Madeline, Celeste, Jane, Renata, and Bonnie, their children were just five years old. But now the kids are in high school, with all of the drama that accompanies teendom (goodbye playdates, hello drugs, sex, and alcohol). When a strange man lurks around the school asking supposedly innocent questions and the principal receives a severed human finger in the mail, the community is in an uproar. This tightly connected group will finally have to face the full repercussions of the big little truths they have—and haven’t—shared with their kids, with each other, and with themselves.” > It was announced last year that a third season of Big Little Lies is coming to HBO. Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-creator Francesca Sloane will write a first episode of the show. > HBO boss Casey Bloys said the new season will be based on Moriarty’s new book. “This is a really dedicated group of producers. They love the show and the property, and Liane Moriarty has a new book,” Bloys told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s been 10 years, and the kids from Big Little Lies are teenagers. As the parent of teenagers, I can tell you that it does get more complicated raising teenagers. I think there’s a lot of fun stuff for this group to look at. And the producers read and met writers and they loved Francesca. I’m glad that it all worked out.” > The series, which premiered in 2017, starred Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoë Kravitz. The cast is expected to return for season three.

Season 2 wasn’t that good. Also Jean Marc Vallee sadly passed away, so there’s a lesser chance of s.3 being great

The cinematography and directing was sooo good on S1. S2 felt quite run of the mill in comparison and the script didn't feel as sharp either.

What if limited series went back to being limited series? Generally, season 2 drops significantly in quality (including Big Little Lies). Perhaps anthologies that follow obvious formats (murder mysteries, group of rich friends, etc.), but not direct continuities, like The White Lotus and Presumed Innocent.

This show should have only had 1 season. It's insane theyre trying to do more. It's so forced

Euphoria from the mother’s perspective? And the mothers are Laura Dern, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Zoe Kravitz!? F*** I’m excited for this

you should definitely watch season 1, it’s really good! season 2 ends a bit weirdly, i’d recommend watching it right before season 3 airs so you don’t stew on it for too long
