So... an atheist doctor could refuse care for Christians under this bill, right?

Not with this Supreme Court.

You got to make up a religion. Have it say that your religion shuns people that believe in a triune god.

Being a worshipper of Nurgle, I cannot provide care to this sick person because it would be rejecting my lord’s gifts.

Blessed be Nurgle.

Damn right, I see anyone wearing a cross asking for help..."go pray on it!" And keep on walking.

I grew up in Iowa when it was a purple state. Sad to see it’s so h******* MAGA now.

Iowa is crazy that way . I remember when it was pretty old guy labor blue Democrats (and many of those being Catholic). Now it's all h******* rightwing crazy. I will say when I visited rural Central Iowa two years ago before the election, there were FAR fewer Maga flags and even a number of Democratic (and even a few pro-choice!) signs there.

Gnatcheese Mar 25, 2026 +3
Wow. Pro-choice shocks me.

And it was one of those homemade FARM signs!! Right on the outside of town! You know the types. I had to read it twice to make sure I was functionally literate.

I promise you, the first time someone tries to deny service to a bigot for moral reasons the red hats will be screaming to the heavens.

They would, and they are literally banking on the (so far true) notion that liberals will be better than them, and so they can take advantage for one way bullying. Most haven't yet realized just how close to done with their shit we are all getting, so it's going to come as quite the surprise when all the quiet high road types finally say f*** it.

They're gonna be real surprised when they light themselves on fire expecting us to piss on them to put it out.

Sorry, you are a MAGA, that's against my morals. RIP

"First, do no harm. Unless I don't agree with your life choices."

Sounds like a lot of MDs need taken away

timthymol Mar 25, 2026 +3
Probably will just be used to deny service to poor people in emergencies.

Interesting-Risk6446 Mar 25, 2026 +6

So nurses can refuse care of pedophile protectors, Maga, warmongering, etc? Cool

UnguentSlather Mar 25, 2026 +3
So, can the state medical board decertify them then, for violating the Hippocratic Oath? This seems entirely counter to that oath.

>Bill letting provider ~~refuse care for moral, ethical or religious beliefs~~ ignore a founding principal of America, goes to governor.

Bear4years Mar 25, 2026 +3
Ah, so this means a doc can refuse care to a neo-nazi? Or to a Maga?
3
anonskeptic5 Mar 25, 2026 +2
Do they have to advertise that they will refuse to treat certain people?

Considering the cost of Healthcare in this country this is even more criminal
1
dominarhexx Mar 26, 2026 +1
Going to take a healthcare travel position and watch chuds pass in the ICU while refusing to provide care on moral grounds. Maximize profits off their demise. Is that how this works?
