You're the only right wing commedian on TV, of course you got the nomination. Pretending that Trump is opposed to it is a bit rich. Good commedian's punch up, they satirise people who deserve to be mocked. Bill Maher is not a good commedian.

Maher doesn’t deserve the award and Trump is evil. He is not in the class of those amazing comedians (and Kevin hart). Not all of the are still funny like Chappelle but they all had comedic genius at a time

It's a shame what has become of Bill Maher. I had to have been one of his biggest fans for over 20 years. I never missed a show, watched all of his specials, Religulous, etc. I could tell you all of his (former) views. I adored him. I didn't even mind his arrogance, I actually found it to be endearing. I never liked his anti-vax slant and I always knew he was a bit kooky but he has really and truly lost his way now. I'm very much pro-marijuana but I think maybe heavy, long-term use has addled his brain. He is a shell of what he once was. I hope, for his sake, he will retire soon so he can go out with some dignity. I have no idea why he was given this award but I hope he accepts it graciously and just goes away. Become a member of Mar-a-lago and drink whole milk in the hot tub with Kid Rock & RFK. There's a pair of twins waiting for him there.

Genuinely interested to see who shows up for Bill for this award/other comedians that support/show-up on his behalf? I’ve generally enjoyed watching the ceremony or at least highlights of this award over the last decades or so. I’ll do a hard pass this year.

Where do I send them. I’m moving to a condo and have been cleaning out my house where I raised my kids. In our rec room is a wall of shelves filled with trophies. Some from T-ball, hockey, football, baseball and even one swimming. Along with the trophies is a drawer of ribbons- some firsts. A lot of seconds and thirds and a handful of participation awards. After deliberations we, as a family want to award them to President Trump. We are withholding the potty training trophy though as our rules state he must have three dry diaper days in a row. Keep trying Donny. Congrats

Why is Maher still relevant? Dude kissed the ring and hasn’t had biting political commentary since the 90s (and even that was pretty subpar).
