I always had a bad feeling about this. In recent interviews he said her parents were on board (perfect fuel for the ‘where were the parents’ people), but now Brandy just confirmed they were hiding this from them and they did not approve at all. She was so young and he as a mentor took advantage of her, the Robert Kelly of it all. Good for Brandy for speaking her truth!

“We did the thing when she was 16, 17. …She was old enough to get it.” - Wanya Morris on The Breakfast Club while the whole room laughed

Well Wilmer Valderama and Danny Masterson were also at large during this era so it was a pervasive issue across all industries.

That is not whataboutism. They are commenting on how prevalent this behavior was/is, you know, Adding to the conversation as people on the internet do.

Not to justify it but thousands of teens date older men. And they know what's up. Hell in high school in the late 90s, they were dating guys in college. It hasn't changed

“Not to justify it but ~~thousands of teens date older men. And they know what's up. Hell in high school in the late 90s, they were dating guys in college. It hasn't changed~~ here’s a justification that blames literal children for statutory r***.” Fixed that for you

No 16 year old child benefits from being in a "relationship" with a grown adult.

I said it before and I say it again and again, almost every woman I know that was with an older man when she was younger regrets it once she's old enough to realize what was really going on. Especially if she has a daughter or niece. It's always fun when they're doing it and you can't stop them but later on they realize they helped gross sick women hating men treat women that way. They helped them use young women and hate older women. Now they get to feel gross because they thought it didn't apply to them. The sick men are done with them now and those same men will do that to your daughter that's "really mature and wise for her age" while they suddenly don't feel that way about you any more and wouldn't even be your friend. Young girls, think of the guys in your age group no one wants to date, that's the stragglers going after young girls who don't know any better using only their age. The ones that if you were their age you wouldn't date either. Think of how you'd feel about a guy your age who *is* hot and cool and won't date any of you because he's only interested in looking for the youngest fresh girls out of middle school to take advantage of. You'd think he's really gross and that's exactly what these older men are doing to you now. It's not cool. It's gross.

This was always weird. When I was in high school, girls used to fetishize older men. Parents couldn't stop them from "dating" older men. The guy was obviously wrong too, but the culture at the time let this happen. This speeding ticket is too late, just make sure we teach our daughters not to fetishize these older men (no matter how advantageous it is for them) and we as a society should call it out when we see older men preying on young girls (no matter how successful they are).

This isn’t teen girls fetishizing older men and it is weird to frame it as such. Teen girls pick up on who has power and value in society, they pick up on what society values in women, and they mold themselves without realizing in order to progress in life or protect themselves. We teach women to prioritize youth and “having a man” over everything because that’s safety. Teen girls are steeped in this awful culture and we shouldn’t be blaming CHILDREN for following through with societal programming. The patriarchy is the problem, full stop.

Before the internet, it was definitely a thing. The girls at school certainly weren’t dating people with “power” but instead dating some dude named Brad who worked part-time at McDonalds and drove a Honda Civic who got his GED years prior. Broke ass mf who smelt like fries. It’s great to see the shift in society, but for a period of time it was definitely normalized. That or certain girls at my school just had bad taste in men

The patriarchy is older than the internet and men have preyed on young girls for millennia. It sounds like you don’t understand it at all.

He is actually speaking about what you are saying. Yes, these older men prey on young girls but young girls did fetishize those older men. Society allowed that to happen. 2 things can be true at the same time.

More-Negotiation-817 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Children cannot fetishize.

Children might not be able to buy teenagers absolutely can. And it’s the job of adults to help them understand those urges and protect them from people who would take advantage of their still-forming but undeniably present sense of sexuality.

At this age a 5 year gap is fine. At 16 - absolutely not.

She was involved in a four car collusion where she hit the victim's car from behind after they already crashed into a car in front of them.

> "These past twelve months have been extraordinarily hard for Brandy and her family, who were unfairly forced to live under a cloud of suspicion initially caused by an ill-advised and premature press release sent out by the California Highway Patrol accusing Brandy of wrongdoing before the police investigation was even finished," attorney Blair Berk said. Yeah I'm sure it must be really hard on her for...people to talk about how she killed someone. Nothing about the person who died except that his family was suing. Last second edit: Still r*** though. I don't want this to sound like I'm on his side or something. They can both be wrong, ya know?
