Proof that donzo doesn't understand volume measurement. He promised gas at $1.99/gallon. But it's gonna be $1.99/quart.

trippknightly Apr 2, 2026 +75
As an olive branch US goes metric and price goes to $1.85/liter.

Ashikura Apr 3, 2026 +38
It’s $1.91/litre where I am in Canada. We were $1.40/litre before this nonsense. Very cool of Trump to piss off everyone. I hope his name is stripped from world history sooner than later.

Moderate-Extremism Apr 3, 2026 +31
He’s still hugely popular in the south, they don’t care as long as others suffer too, it’s a sadism-based culture.
31
Ashikura Apr 3, 2026 +11
Apparently he’s now less popular nation wide then Nixon was when he was impeached. I bet the cross over of people who would have disagreed with that and whole like Trump is a complete circle.

Old-n-Wrinkly Apr 3, 2026 +9
Nixon had a huge number of loyal supporters right up to the end. Source: I’m old, easily recall the Watergate details, and I also read US history books.

trippknightly Apr 3, 2026 +6
Nixon didn’t have the numbers he needed where he needed them at that end. It was Republican congressional leadership that showed up to tell him in person he was history.

Moderate-Extremism Apr 3, 2026 +3
He lost the North East, California and then losing the Midwest killed him. He didn’t have the south fully consolidated yet, or he would have been fine.
3
viperlemondemon Apr 3, 2026 +8
Same with the rural Midwest, a lot still support him they have just taken down their flags and stored their hats. They still believe but they are trying to be stealth about it
8
Moderate-Extremism Apr 3, 2026 +6
They do, but they aren’t on the same level as the south, he’s the southern messiah, and they’re not even mildly shy about admitting that.

Fallouttgrrl Apr 3, 2026 +3
He's what every megachurch aspires to be
3
Moderate-Extremism Apr 3, 2026 +2
He’s what Charles Manson aspired to be. He’s driving us towards Helter Skelter, and his followers have been waiting for this moment for 160 years.

A lot of people have intertwined their identity with MAGA, so criticism of MAGA hurts their ego, and they take it personally. In this stage, admitting that you're wrong and having a full-blown identity crisis hurts so much that they are willing to take the mental gymnastics route, raising the "trump plays 4d chess" to level 5 and 6 like a super saiyan. But you're right. just like some people's interpretation of religion, if good things didn't happen to you, you haven't been praying hard enough. Your loved ones didn't pray for you. You just got to believe harder. They take the same approach to Trump. A good example is that video of the guy getting pulled over by the cops, and he starts praying to Trump to come save him.

Moderate-Extremism Apr 3, 2026 +1
I know, but I lived there, they drink the koolaid a lot, for all kinds of things, basically like betting everything they have on the l****** every week. They will kill for him, not figuratively, literally, and I’m upset because nobody else seems to see it coming.

innervisions710 Apr 3, 2026 +7
Australia was $1.35 now we're sitting between $2.50 and $2.79 per litre
7
Ashikura Apr 3, 2026 +7
What an insane, unnecessary waste of all of our money.
7
SpoppyIII Apr 3, 2026 +5
Lived in New Jersey until last year, 2025. Under Biden in 2024, I was getting gas for $2.79/Gal. I just got gas today in NJ and it was $3.89/Gal. :(

Impressive-Potato Apr 3, 2026 +3
It was 1.18 in the Greater Toronto Area before all this bullshit. Now it's 1.71

KawaiiQueen_666 Apr 3, 2026 +2
$2.13/L where I am in Canada. Keeps going up with each new shipment to our gas stations.
2
Ascomae Apr 3, 2026 +1
It's already 2.30€/l in Germany.

Delicious-History486 Apr 3, 2026 +1
From $1 a liter here in Philippines to now $1.60. Namebrand stations $2
1
Strofari Apr 3, 2026 +1

erikwarm Apr 3, 2026 +1

1
Ascomae Apr 3, 2026 +1
Netherlands? I have seen €2.84/l at a German Autobahn

gordonpamsey Apr 3, 2026 +152
200 Dollars was said to be a global recession marker and we are already at 2008 levels with no end in sight. America willingly may have just did irreversible damage to the global economy at the whim of a mad man.

itsatumbleweed Apr 3, 2026 +28
This is before most places have received their last pre-war shipment too. The US gets theirs April 15. When the shipments run out it's going to go way up. We are still on the climb. Two weeks ago the IEA chief said that if the war ended right away we are still in for the largest oil shock in history. We aren't hoping it doesn't get much worse from now, we are hoping it doesn't get much worse than 3 months from now.

Aggravating-Salad441 Apr 3, 2026 +27
Unfortunately, a global recession is probably the only thing that might make Americans come to their senses. We voted for this incompetence in three straight elections. If there's irrefutable evidence Trump is to blame, then that might be the only medicine.
27
nameduser365 Apr 3, 2026 +26
Americans coming to our senses by being shown facts? That's not the America I know and love! /sadness
26
Delicious-History486 Apr 3, 2026 +1
It aint "Americans" its just a few in the White House
1
No_Mercy_4_Potatoes Apr 3, 2026 +4
The rest of the world should get together to bomb the US and Israel. The two culprits of this war.
4
Decent-Ganache7647 Apr 3, 2026 +2
I’ve always thought that that would be the only way for Americans to wake up. They’re largely insulated from a lot of the problems their country causes in the world and have had no impetus to behave any differently.
2
Dedayius Apr 3, 2026 +3
Not to make you panic but it’s definitely not $200. That’s the price at which things turn super bad, super fast. $150 is a guaranteed recession.
3
Buddhas_Warrior Apr 2, 2026 +46
So... Much.... Winning
46
d_smogh Apr 3, 2026 +1
Winning if you sell oil. Very soon the media will be reporting how many trillionaires have been made from the oil price boom
1
gordonpamsey Apr 3, 2026 +31
WOW, this is f****** ALARMING.
31
ThePlanck Apr 3, 2026 +31
Remember to say thank you to Donald Trump for doing this
31
DaedalusRaistlin Apr 3, 2026 +9
I'm uttering a slightly different prayer, but "you" (as in Trump) is certainly the second word.
9
526mb Apr 3, 2026 +29
You know how f****** stupid Trump and his regime are? They’re so goddam dumb they started a war that killed the Iranian leadership and somehow left Iran in a stronger position than they were before the war. They every single member of that administration have to take turns sharing the two brain cells between all of them.
29
CurrentlyLucid Apr 2, 2026 +14
Everybody be sure to send trump a thank you note at the polls this year.

But must you repeat yourself?
7
wouldntyouliketokno_ Apr 2, 2026 +44
Hehe that’s odd the markets doesn’t seem to care
44
viperabyss Apr 2, 2026 +47
Because the market wants Trump to retreat from Iran without resolving any issue. But honestly it’s just wishful thinking. Iran war is no longer in Trump’s court. It’s in Iran’s.

Rhe markets have been rigged for decades. Just look at all the companies that have their stocks jump up after posting losses
6

And share price dips after rocking earnings. Its one big scam.
3
ScientificSkepticism Apr 3, 2026 +9
Tesla is worth more than every other car company on earth **combined.** The markets are about as rational as a Florida man on a three week bath salts and krokodil bender.

2008 flashbacks incoming.

thanks trump. glad you chose a pointless war bombing school kids over health care and childcare. affordability isn't a hoax you demented fat orange shitbag
8
uncutlife Apr 2, 2026 +69
When are you heads of state going to ditch market driven pricing for oil and just buy it on cost plus 5%? Really put it to the USA and their petrodollar scam
69
Frigoffwidit Apr 2, 2026 +44
Well you see, that's called communism.

metametapraxis Apr 3, 2026 +15
Who is going to SELL that cost-plus oil you are imaging exists?
15
rysto32 Apr 3, 2026 +13
Buy it from whom, exactly?
13
Olaf4586 Apr 3, 2026 +6
What are you talking about?
6
WSBgod-jr Apr 3, 2026 +3
Why does this have 62 up votes? If there was a supply shock, you’re asking me to sell it to you just at cost plus a 5% markup…
3
uncutlife Apr 3, 2026 -1
There is enough supply, there are just a heap of people trading oil stocks to make money, not because they need the product and are going to use it.
-1
WSBgod-jr Apr 3, 2026 +5
What do you mean? There is a current supply shock. With the partial closer of the strait, there is less oil flowing through international trade. There are Asian countries limiting consumer consumption of gasoline and electricity due to the fact that they aren’t receiving their normal supply of oil.

BWWFC Apr 3, 2026 +6
this is "good" right? like the best winningest prize, right?
