It was either this or we would be seeing her obituary. Im glad she is seeking help. Im an addict in recovery and the best thing I ever did was get sober.

I’m glad she’s seeking the support she deserves. Being an addict doesn’t mean you need to be in a conservatorship. That’s not how it works with most people and it’s not how it should work with her. She deserves her freedom no matter what. And with her freedom, she seeks sobriety after a period of suffering. I applaud her and wish her the best.

ITT: People who know f*** all about addiction

I’m a therapist that’s worked in detoxes and rehabs for the past 7 years. I really wish people would drop the terms junkie, addict, alcoholic, etc. I also went through major struggles with addiction and identified as an “addict” for a while. They’re weaponized against people. I’ve never met someone struggling with addiction who didn’t have some major trauma in their life. They’re self medicating trauma survivors- but when they’re reduced to a label like junkie or addict, it wholly invalidates them. It’s saying “you are a problem” instead of “you have a problem.” It negatively impacts the court systems, hospital protocols, employment opportunities, and more and more aspects of society. I think it’s ok to say someone is “addicted to drugs” or struggles with “alcoholism.” That’s a very different thing than calling someone an alcoholic or addict. The opposite of addiction is connection, and all these terms do is perpetuate divisions between “addicts” and “normies” when both are just harmful terms. The sooner we drop those labels the better. We have to evolve and see people as more than their worst and most significant behaviors. I’m arguing for the humanity of a demonized population.

Anyone who looked at her teeth could see she was abusing meth, but it’s good she’s seeking the help she’s desperately needed.

Glad she’s getting help but she still deserves jail time. All that money and she wants to drive drunk. I don’t have any sympathy for drunk driving.

It seems like she was really needing this. Hope she's gets the help she needs. Not exactly a fan of hers, but the public sideshow wasn't funny it entertaining to me.

It’s an attempt for leniency from the judge in her DUI case, a common maneuver in these types of cases

You know what the best thing for me was? No one knowing I was in rehab.
