I'm a huge Bruce fan and have been my entire life. There is something about this tour that is not sitting right with me. It's billed as this big political statement against Trump...but where is the money going? Are we all just making Bruce richer while pretending attending a concert is some sort of political activism? I hope there is some sort of plan to donate a portion of the tour earnings to literally any political group or cause.

ya, The Boss could've turned off dynamic pricing for this and just made ticket prices be whats needed for the tour...

I agree with your sentiment. Someone in another thread was calling him punk… actually, more punk than “real” punks. Last I checked a punk show wasn’t $400.00.

Yeah he knows his northeast audience and his group has been making a lot of money for a long time. I know personally some very key figures in his operation who work directly with him and whom he considers family. They’re good people but they’re all extremely wealthy.

Digging a bit on this, I found that he traditionally [donates to food banks](https://www.letterstoyou.net/post/on-the-front-lines-springsteen-s-longtime-support-of-anti-hunger-groups-like-fulfillnj-org#:~:text=It%20was%20thirty%2Dnine%20years,thereafter%20on%20his%20concert%20tours.) in every city he visits. He doesn’t announce it so maybe his donations usually go unnoticed.

He works with local charities every show, and promotes giving them prime placement in the entrances and in the main body of the show. Last night in MN he shouted out a non-profit legal group that helps immigrants, ICE detainees, etc. In NY he always shouts out Long Island Cares and the Harry Chapin Food Bank.

I got roasted HARD for asking these exact questions in the Springsteen sub and how I felt conflicted. Yes, I know he donates to progressive causes. But that isn't good enough in this scenario with how he is billing this tour. I have like 700 hours of tapes of his shows from my tape trading days in the 1990s, almost all his albums, and been a flaming progressive liberal most of my life. Apparently now I'm a MAGA Trump loving Bruce hater now which is news to me. I (very) naively thought this tour would be like a Jack White or Cure tour where tickets were all priced very reasonable, enough to cover his costs, and resales blocked. Nope, all the dynamic pricing and whatnot shuts out a lot of Americans. Had Bruce billed the tour as "I need a new house in the Bahamas" tour I probably would have plunked down $500 to go. He can set the prices, it's his money, great. If he had said that the money from the $3000 tickets was going to a list of specific organizations then I would have gone. It just feels a bit disingenuous to me to bill the tour as he has. I don't know who this guy is but he has my sentiments exactly, he could have gone down as a legend on this tour: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6FMZQqeyIqs

Really tired of seeing the same headline over and over on Music

Cashing in from all those rich boomers who think going to his concert counts as fighting fascism

While I do love his music, his message is a bit tone deaf seeing how his ticket prices are absolutely out of touch. You have people calling him punk because of his ethics and beliefs. F*** that. Hes still a greedy nostalgia rocker prick at the end of the day. Neil Young also. Also time he rolled around my city. Top tickets were almost $1000.

It's not a Down with Capitalism tour, it's a Hope Over Fear, Democracy Over Authoritarianism tour.

> You have people calling him punk That's a new development. Maybe what they're trying to say is that he's willing to push back against things that are manifestly corrupt and hateful, and do so from atop a really high platform? The more the merrier, I guess? 'Punk' seems to mean different things to different generations. From the perspective of people who were there for the early days of Punk, it's almost a knee-jerk reflex to say '*as if!!*' Bruce is certainly not that. Cynicism aside, he's a great and uniquely American musician, and there's a certain part of our society that respects him enough to listen to what he has to say - even if it's counter to what they normally spew.

Let’s not turn Bruce into Joe Strummer. I have to much respect for The Clash.

I'll bet Bruce will be the first celebrity that Trump revokes the citizenship of if SCOTUS grants him that power. Him and then Robert DeNiro.

I don’t control other people’s opinions. I thought we had freedom…

So just because he said something you agree with you will now go listen to every song he ever recorded? Sounds like a sheep to me.

Yet the side he supports was chanting "communist revolution"....during the no kings protest. Communism is not democracy....

Democracy over, authoritarianism! It was just missing the proper punctuation.

It’s not your fault Kid Rock had to cancel those tour dates. I mean, the only ticket sold was to your king, who thought kid rock was code for Epstein island

outdated and irrelevant musician without ever posting a number 1 album or number 1 song on charts seeks relevance by grabbing a market share of TDS. Tour in support of pandering *protest* song is a financial gamble which will at least be tax deductible.
