But you don’t understand! The news channel says it’s a “Breaking News” story. With the scary red aesthetic and important sounding jingle. I’m pretty sure they’ve just been repeating the same 5 seconds of actual information and baselessly speculating to stretch for time for the last 8 hours or so…but I got a feeling. After this commercial break is when the floodgates are gonna burst wide open and all the juicy drama will be exposed. May as well gamba on my phone while I wait for history to be made. Oooo look, the same “Limited Time Offer” that’s been an hour away from expiring for the past month. I better strike while the iron is hot!

You make a good point. What we REALLY need is to keep our blood pressure at fever pitch for every waking moment, never knowing anything close to peace or enjoyment for even the briefest of seconds. Surely that'll lead to positive change.

I'm doing what people have done for hundreds of years, enjoying some entertainment. I'm not saying that all comedy (or all bread and circuses) is bad. I'm saying there is plenty of it, and somehow, trying to say that we need more is something a disillusioned millionaire world famous actor would say.
