I am so confused, I know there’s so many deeper plots that I’m not getting. I have no idea what’s going on. (**I am fine with spoilers**) There’s so many ppl, and I don’t rly remember faces when there’s a bunch of them, but it seems like a rly great show. Can someone please explain all the plot twists?
it's about time travel shenanigans and these people's lives and choices intersecting and a messed up family tree. it will all reveal itself over time.

you can select your progress and it will help explain what you should know up to that point.

This. I worry that they'll take the site down one day and I'll never be able to rewatch the show without it.

That website is lifesaver for Dark! I tried watching without it first time and gave up after like 3 episodes because I couldn't keep track who was related to who. The family tree gets absolutely bonkers when you realize some characters are their own grandparents or whatever.

Netflix built a website where you select the episode you just completed and it helps you with the character connections. https://dark.netflix.io/en
The show is probably a challenge for people who aren't good with faces - there are a TON of characters, but I found it to be the single most rewarding payoff in a television show I've ever seen, so I hope you stick with it.

https://dark.netflix.io/en this family tree is great - you put in what episode you’re on and it gives you the information you have at that point

Basic no-spoiler-ish explanation: it’s a time-travel family drama where half the cast is the same people at different ages. Look up a “Dark family tree” chart, total lifesaver.
