I mean, Ontario’s energy minister was in Washington this week to talk CUSMA.
US and Canada are still always going to each others biggest trade partners. I don’t doubt Canada will continue to diversify, but it’s not economically or logistically feasible for it to be any other way.

Canada isn't USA's biggest trade partner. Mexico is

Not with 75% (~$420B) of their exports going to the states, at exorbitantly lower costs than they would be elsewhere, due to shipping.
I have nothing but love for Canadians. My next door neighbor and dear friend hails from Sudbury. We had beers in my garage and shot the shit for an hour yesterday, and are fishing this weekend. I support Canadian sovereignty, of course, and “elbows up”.
Understand that isn’t particularly reciprocal at this time, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be realistic . Best scenario for everybody is a return to decency, normalcy, and good faith diplomacy on our side of the border.

The problem is that it’s a possible return to normalcy for 4-8 years and then there’s a high chance you elect another lunatic and we are back to this again. The US is no longer trustworthy. The rest of the world has learned that any deal signed with the US is not worth the paper it’s printed on and any deal you make will be negated on in a few years.

I recommend checking out how the government is prioritizing each sector and how they aim to diversify.
The agri food sector alone aims to drop our exports to the US to 50% (76% Is the data from 2023).
Here’s a pretty good summary of the opportunities:
https://www.fcc-fac.ca/en/knowledge/economics/trade-shift-diversify-food-exports
Importing has already shifted and I’m seeing way more food from countries like Morocco, Australia, Chile and more.

Yes because that is contractually the agreement with CUSMA. It is renegotiation time. It's not out of desire. It is convenient to trade with the US. This administration used almost a century of friendship and allegiance as an extortion method. That is not logistical or economically feasible for the future.
There is a reason trade became so reliant on one another. It was economically and logistically feasible at one time. It is not that time anymore. However its not about 'siding' with any nation. It's trade. If they have goods or services that are beneficial to Canada then trade is the smart move. However if trade is constantly disrupted, constantly breaking agreements, and the systems of governance in the US are no longer effectual - the US becomes a poor trading partner.

Middle america don't understand that they are used by billionnaires and Israel. At least 25% of the american debt is due to middle east wars.

Most low population states provide agriculture + resources, representation that would be lost otherwise.

so total votes don't matter?
like in asia most people just count total people who voted not resources
also how many resources are enough and equivalent to humans to make them even
also california has more resources and people shouldn't it be split for equal voting grounds

Interestingly, if Trump drops out of NATO then the EU\\UK and other member states may take a leaf out of Canada's book on this. American imperalism and reckless behavior is really isolating them on the global stage right now, also makes them dangerous, even to allies as you know.
