Right?!? I mean, they do everything else so above-board as to make me think that this news of our glorious leader lying is a complete and total fabrication! Poppy-c***, I say!

I'm wondering about this for both sides. I've read that Iran has about 2,000 killed so far. If we have hit 10,000 targets, that works out to 1 Iranian death per every 5 targets. The math isn't working out.

It's crazy to me how little we actually know about what's going on. Maybe it's just because I've been so used to constant updates, actual combat footage, and a million websites tracking the war in Ukraine that this just feels incredibly opaque in comparison.

I've been following youtubers who have a lot of expertise. The television news has very little information. I've been watching Glenn Diesen, Daniel Davis, Cyrus Janssen, and Cappy Army. Al Jazeera has a very informative up to date confirmed casualty page, which is where I got the figure of 2,000 from.

It’s almost as if trump relies on fake news/stats to stay out dear leader. Maybe AI is not ready to admit to bombing two separate schools, let alone the double tap that killed parents and emergency rescuers.

15 bases in the Middle East have been abandoned, an F35 was shot down in combat for the first time, 3 F15’s were shot down by friendly fire, our aircraft carrier has to sail far from the coast for fear of being destroyed, several multi-million dollar E3-AWACS have been destroyed, hugely expensive radar installations have been destroyed, we’ve used more ordinance in 1 month than we used in 20 years in Afghanistan and Iraq, and over a dozen reaper drones have been shot down. The war is won, pretty much.

Side note this is how we got here. I don't think the Maga people are evil (voters at least) they just are victims of controlled media and propaganda.
I don't have a solution but fake news is real and needs stopped.

I've heard that Americans working on middle-east bases have been living in local hotels.
Imagine that. Combatants hiding within the local populace.

American soldiers using civilians as human shields, huh? Interesting. I thought only terrorists did that.

Hold on a second.
You mean to tell me that a regime that kills civilians, destroys critical civilian infrastructure like power plants and desalinization plants, provides unconditional support to a genocidal apartheid state, starts an unprovoked war with the intent of killing as many people as possible (and for fun!), is driven by religious zealotry and hides its combatants amongst civilians to use as shields are terrorists...?
Ok, pal!

Yesterday at SLC Airport there was a US flag covered casket taken off a plane by military wearing their dress blues. No talks of why. No reported military deaths tied to Utah.

Fair point but is that how they transport them if they die of causes outside of war? Genuinely asking, I don’t know the answer.

To the best of my knowledge, retirees don't generally get a uniformed e***** from place to place. The Honor Guard typically meets them at the graveyard or funeral home.

I think there can be exceptions based on medals they may have had or if they were very high up. Or if they know someone high up.
But you are right in 99% of cases

Soldiers die all the time even in peaceime. In 2025, 825 active duty military died, and only 2 of those were from hostile action.

I didn’t realize they do this even in non-hostile related deaths. That was my mistake. I thought it was only done if they died during military operations of some kind.

I have a feeling we are being hit way-way harder and taking way more loss than they thought we would.
They really did think they could just....go to war with Iran and steamroll them which is so reflective of the mentality of this administration.

I think this too but surely the families of those not recognised like the 6 or so that were would be saying something publicly? It seems like it would be a hard thing to cover up in today’s social world no?

I don’t get the Trump admins point of covering up all of the stuff they obviously don’t give a shit about. Especially since they could give two fucks about adjusting to public sentiment or what the law says. They just lie “for the love of the game”.

Here's where my skepticism comes in, Gold Star families are not quiet. We would be hearing from them in local media outlets if their lives one died. I totally believe the wounded numbers are way higher, but fatalities are very difficult to hide.

Lying about casualties to not have to pay benefits to families who lost loved one? Right out of the Russian playbook. Kraznov, you’ve done it again (I’m aware casualty doesn’t necessarily mean fatality, but the sentiment remains the same)
