Plus new shows! Chicago Sanitation, Chicago DMV, and Chicago Health Deoartment.

DonquixoteDFlamingo Mar 28, 2026 +71
Chicago Sanitation could unironically become a Brooklyn 99 level sitcom with the right team
71
Hydra_Flatline Mar 28, 2026 +18
The crossovers with the other shows would be a hoot.
18
DarthLithgow Mar 29, 2026 +6
Honestly a show about the sanitation dept could be great with the right writers.

MD_FunkoMa Mar 28, 2026 +10
We just had a DMV show get canceled after 2 seasons.
10
ChaoticSenior Mar 28, 2026 +11
That was a comedy. Chicago DMV would be an intense drama.

I would legit watch Chicago Sanitation as a drama.
1
Ok-Fox-8308 Mar 28, 2026 +66
D*** wolf literally just owns nbc at this point. he could pitch a "chicago sanitation department" spinoff tomorrow and they would instantly greenlight it for 5 seasons dude.

Not enough action with lawyers. At least the Sanation guys can run into the occasional corpse.

the good wife and suits would like a word
5
Razzler1973 Mar 28, 2026 +4

4
FlukyS Mar 28, 2026 +1
“The pay is garbage” would have to be said at some stage
1
MeatTornado25 Mar 29, 2026 +1
Question is whether the show is about the department taking the law into their own hands by solving crimes from clues found in the trash that the police aren't interested in? Or is it a show where 1 member gets brought in to help a case with their savant trash expertise, and then eventually gets partnered up with a detective full time for all trash-related crimes in the city?

Amazing how they keep renewing while continuing to murder the budgets.
61
ScoobyDont06 Mar 28, 2026 +38
Is that why Heman is constantly raging out in the office or at home?
38
Hank_Scorpio_ObGyn Mar 28, 2026 +6
Correct.

AlexTorres96 Mar 28, 2026 +11
How come SVU can last forever and the excuse of it being expensive doesn't apply there? This sub always says that shows get expensive because stars want raises the longer it goes. Would that mean Mariska is making top dollar and gets more money the longer it goes? Nobody ever calls SVU an expensive show and it's been going on forever.
11
AllTheThingsSheSays Mar 28, 2026 +22
SVU possibly has a smaller budget, half of every episode is set in the precinct, and limited effect. Chicago Fire has more effects for the fires, different sets every week for the different call outs and more cast members who've been there forever.
22
Modz_B_Trippin Mar 28, 2026 +15
Nah, Ice-T and others have seen their screen time and salaries cut.
15
Hank_Scorpio_ObGyn Mar 28, 2026 +11
Look at Chicago Fire. The set pieces, the fire apparatuses, the fire gear, the fires/explosions, the rescues/stunt coordination, etc. cost a shit ton of money. That's why a few times a season, there's something like "Oh, the ladder truck broke. Everyone on ladder is home today." to write characters out.
11
Infamous-Lab-8136 Mar 28, 2026 +8
NBC has been calling on all the L&O series to cut budgets for years and Hargitay is paid well but isn't even in the million dollar an episode club of actors on TV despite having been an anchor of a major show for 2 and a half decades Viewers for it are complaining about seeing people like Ice-T because rather than just bring back Kelli Giddish they cut the appearances of other performers to take the money from their salaries

Early-Ad277 Mar 28, 2026 +5
>Would that mean Mariska is making top dollar and gets more money the longer it goes? Yes. >How come SVU can last forever and the excuse of it being expensive doesn't apply there? It does apply here, if you follow SVU there are always news about budget cuts and how the show is adapting to them. A lot of the regular cast members aren't even in all the episodes of the season anymore.

The chicago PD interrogation room used to be a full hallway with a cage, now it literally looks like a closet with a cardboard (fake) window in it, which also seems to have shrunk over the years. It's hilarious when they do use it these days.
2
iamacannibal Mar 28, 2026 +2
Yeah I miss the seasons of Chicago Fire with the full cast in every episode.

They used to film in this specific alley near my office all the time. Like virtually any alleyway scene in these shows is the same alley, I have no doubt considering how often they were there.
14
sinkwiththeship Mar 28, 2026 +5
Lots of NBC shows are shot near my place in Brooklyn. It's funny watching the episodes and finding out what neighborhood they say it is.
5
mapleismycat Mar 28, 2026 +2
You ever pee in that Alley?
2
swonebros Mar 29, 2026 +1
Watching tv with my roommate from Vancouver was fun because he point everything out. “ hey That government building is the ymca where I learned to swim”.

The last time that NBC told him no, he took FBI to CBS and they never said no after that.

1
RevoOps Mar 28, 2026 +2
Are these shows AI generated at this point? Pretty sure they could switch and no one would notice, people in waiting rooms aren't all that discerning
2
AlexTorres96 Mar 28, 2026
If only CBS did this with the FBI shows instead of insisting on sanitizing the Yellowstone spinoff. F****** bullshit that it's on FCC airwaves when it deserves to be gritty TV-MA.
0
Early-Ad277 Mar 28, 2026 +5
NBC owns the Chicagos, CBS didn't own the FBI's, that's what it comes down to.
