Nah, there's plenty of other cases of Chinese companies being blocked from the US market that can be feeding the tit for tat.
But also, there has been a ton of anti-China AI regulation passed in the US such as prohibiting exports of GPUs to China (for awhile) which is now "pay the US a tax to send them to China" and other nonsense.
Basically they have alot more reasons than just TikTok for this and China is flexing.

The 1980s change in the US antitrust doctrine (exemplified by [The Antitrust Paradox
](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Antitrust_Paradox)) cased an untold damage to the US citizens. It essentially gave free pass to nearly any merger and default answer changed to "yes." Mergers mean less competition. Apply the doctrine for few decades and now basically everything is owned by one or two conglomerates and hundreds of subsidiaries.
