Meanwhile in the West: let’s hire anyone, even in critical positions without background checks and be surprised when employees are economic spies

Ironic coming from China, a dictatorship that encourages their students in foreign universities in the west to rat out their fellow citizens if they show any anti-China sentiment. Chinese students in western universities can earn money by performing pro-China activities or ratting out any anti-China sentiment in their fellow students activities.

Funny how on Listnook MAGA only gets upvotes when they talk about China. Every time they speak about Canada or UK or Europe or any of our Allies their Trumpian delusions get downvoted to -200. This week so far, this guy says Spain is hostile and protecting Iran, Finland is incompetent, China is Europe’s daddy, UK is irrelevant, US has no soldiers in Iran, wants to boycott Canada, “Ukraine isn’t our war”. Could it be that this guy doesn’t actually hate dictatorship, he hates democracy more?

What on earth are you even talking about? IM a Chinese student in the US and I've never been approached by anyone telling me to rat out anti China sentiment, or know anyone who is doing that to me or anyone else . This is the most blatant lie that I can confidently call out ever. I know y'all have been brainwashed to go China bad and shit, but come on kid, if Chinas really as bad as you think you dont have to lie to make it look bad. but thanks for doing what Trump did to so many people, which is to whip up negative sentiment against innocent people. what's next, are we back to eating cats and dogs too? shit like this is what makes me laugh any time listnook says they hate our government but not us.

Instead of seeing their country turning to fascism dictatorship right before their eyes and do anything about it, Americans would rather say “China bad”

I’m Chinese in America too and it’s made up stuff like this that makes me scared we’re going to end up in concentration camps if war between the US and China ever breaks out. The amount of ridiculous made up China bad BS these people swallow without a second thought is unbelievable. Everything from this to organ harvesting to secret CCP police stations, these racist assholes see us as nothing more than brainwashed robots enslaved to Xi. F*** them all.

Why is it ironic? They do it so they expect others do it too and are warning their own citizens. Ironic means something else. This is more pragmatic/realist.

It's irony that a country famous for intellectual espionage is warning of intellectual espionage. That'd be like a baseball player warning of fastballs dude.

Traditional_Club_820 1 day ago +3
That is not what irony means.

Ironic to hear that from the country that actively engages in corporate espionage through offering a large sum of money

One of my professors is from China and he told us how the Chinese government tried to extort him to always hand out his research or if not his family could he jailed. Luckily he was able to bring all of his family.

Multiple Chinese American professors in the US were falsely accused of spying and had their lives ruined after the FBI fabricated evidence against them. The FBI even threatened to ruin the professor's son's life to extort him to spy on China. https://www.knoxnews.com/story/news/crime/2021/06/14/federal-agents-falsely-accused-university-of-tennessee-professor-spying-china/7649378002/

This is easily re-written as -- 'USA warns university students and academic staff about .... from China'.

China is always warning its citizens about foreign spies. I lived in China for 3 years. A girl I dated had parents that were convinced I was a spy because the government brainwashed them into thinking that was the only reason a foreign man would want to date a Chinese woman.

Amusing considering how many would probably do it for free.
