You literally have the rest of the world practically rolling out the red carpet for you to be the next superpower and you’re harassing Taiwan instead?

Honestly, China could really seize the moment with the US floundering. Or they could remind us why they're just as dangerous and unpredictable.

As bad as the U.S. is right now, an expansionist China may well be worse.

If the US actually does a clean house of the MAGAs they might actually be able to make an argument to remain the worlds super power if China does this

What's he supposed to say to the leader of the opposition though. The opposition in Taiwan is the party that wants to uphold One China, wants closer cooperation, and actively opposes independence.

China has no hope to reach the US level. And from the diplomatic actions of China it is also very clear that China only cares about northwest Asia-Pacific regions. It also has no intention to pursue this purpose.
By this trend we would have no superpower in recent future. And China only want to be regional leader, for example, take back Taiwan.

Well at this point an American promise for security is all but worthless.

Everyone seems to forget Taiwan's leverage of having the collective knowledge and manufacturing expertise of the semi-conductor industry, along with the advanced manufacturing fabs essentially rigged with explosives and a dead man switch.

To bad China. I guess you need to learn to live with your intolerance.

They don't see it as a foreign country. It's like if a US state had de-facto seceded in 1950 and the federal government had never recognised its secession as valid, and the only reason they hadn't intervened militarily to keep control in 1950 was because the Soviet Union stopped them, but all sides viewed the secessionist state as an integral part of the US (the state said at the time that it was just waiting for its own party to regain control at federal level and then they'd be united again).
