Notably, all these tanker moves are just to get them out of the Gulf. None of the tankers are coming in, so Iran is just taking $2M bribes to let the ships out so they can do normal business elsewhere, but all shipments from the strait are halted.

Iranian leadership has been heavily degraded and what's left is scattered and in hiding. They also reportedly cut down on using radios, cell phones, satellite phones, etc., so the US/Israel can't triangulate their positions and strike them. To that end, they have supposedly distributed command to lower levels so their military can continue to act and aren't sitting around waiting for orders from above that may never come. As such, some lower level commander(s) may well fire on ships those above him want to let through.

Comparatively less trouble than the other Asian economies despite its huge manufacturing base because they have massive strategic oil reserves and aren’t as reliant on LNG as South Korea or Japan are.  The main thing is this increases future reliance on Russia for gas.

China won't be happy in the short run, but they can afford oil on the global market. In the long run, it would be a massive commercial opportunity to rebuild Iranian oil infrastructure.

The country with the most to lose is the US.
