Anyone watching this? I was elated to open up prime and see they came out with another show like Jury Duty! I just watched episode 1 and I’m so impressed that they seem to have found someone as kind and personable as Ronald. I have high hopes for this season!
I’m really curious under what premise or guise did they say the documentary crew was filming for? Overall I’m super excited to see how this all plans out.
Definitely just figured out how I’m spending my Friday night!
I just finished the first episode and went on Reddit to check if there already was a thread discussing the episode.
It's great to see they managed to find a different setting for this season. The way the first episode went from looking pretty relaxing for Anthony to really amping up the pressure on him makes me excited for the rest.
I'm definitely looking forward to the eventual relapse of Jimmy. He seems like a ticking HR time bomb and there's no way it's not going to explode.

Glad they dropped three episodes at once the third episode was hilarious. Porcupine! Porcupine! Anthony is just amazing at rolling with the punches and being super supportive for everyone.

He seems very likeable and prepared to just go-with-the-flow. Obviously doesn't take this temporary job too seriously, and why should he? Apart from a few extreme characters the group treats him well in pleasant surroundings.

Dougie just reminds me of Michael Scott in the best ways, and I *love* his friendship that he has with Anthony.

It was pretty much right at the upper bound of what could possibly seem like a sincere screwup by idiots at a corporate retreat. Pretty much perfect for what it is.
Plus, I think I am in love with the reclusive web designer who likes Bones.

I’m just astounded and proud that the team felt more confident that they *didn't* feel the need for a celebrity after season 1.
It’s very risky for something like this to go wrong or for an actor to slip, especially when there’s no celebrity to help prevent him from catching on.
This season like I’m watching a mini-series or spinoff of The Office, and there’s a real person who has no idea this is a show. It’s fantastic.

James Marsden was used in Jury Duty as a way to prevent Ronald from wondering if this was fake.
The idea is that if the celebrity isn’t saying “hey, isn’t this weird?” then it’s ok.
This one they’re really sticking with an unknown cast and seeing if they pick the right guy like they’ve done for “The Joe Schmo Show”. And it seems like they did. I’m loving this a lot more than season 1, and am shocked/happy he’s going along with this.

I mean James Marsden could have blended into the crowd. He was playing the character of celebrity Marsden on the show. They used his celebrity to create a scenario where the jury would need sequestering. He was really good in the first season

He was unbelievably game and hilarious the first season. So was the rest of the cast, but Marsden really made it for me. I was hesitant about season 2 without him in it, but I'm really blown away by how well they have matched the tone, pacing, and comedy of the first season.

It was such a great performance. Impressive he came in with very little improv experience & was able to stay in character for so long. He was kinda the villain of the show but was still likable

Thanks - this is new to me. I’ll have to watch the other one. They literally had attys and judges? This could really piss off a certain type of person. Deceipt is a tough pill. Anthony seems so kind!
Should be $500k - that’s a lot of mental games on the poor guy. I’m only one ep in-perhaps I’m wrong and the real Anthony will be ok.

They had actors playing them - but the judge was played by a retired attorney and arbitrator

Last season the duped main character got a nice payout at the end and has gone on to enjoy a number of brand deals, ad appearances and so forth, not to mention lasting friendships with the actors he was with. I’m sure Anthony will get the rate he was promised for his temp job and much, much more, which is wonderful bc he seems like a great guy

I'll be the Debbie downer but I dont buy it. I think Anthony's an actor too. Its just so painfully obvious this time around that they're filming a high production show. All of the characters look like tv characters.

Haven’t watched yet but am excited for this. Jury Duty was one of the most fun experiences I’ve had with a show and I’m looking forward to seeing them put a different spin on the concept. So far I’ve seen nothing but positive reviews for this season. Fingers crossed it delivers.

I've watched jury duty season 1 again and that show was just sooo good.
The terrible animation, to the guy who told Ronald he was gonna rub one out, to James Marsden's giant shit. And Ronald was so nice to everyone..
Wonder how this new guy will do in season 2

Just finished watching episode 3 and they have absolutely nailed it! Anthony is extremely likeable and his friendship with Dougie is very endearing.
I feel like they somehow managed to really hit that sweet spot of wholesome and hilarious hijinks that made season 1 a success. I'm very excited to see how the rest of the season plays out.

They switched up the formula by having the actors stay in character during their interviews without Anthony. I liked seeing the fourth wall a bit in the first season and I’m missing that in the second. Also some of the characters are laying it on a little thick which makes it less believable. It’s still funny, but it feels more heavily scripted and I don’t enjoy it as much personally.

SamanthacinoMar 21, 2026

They did that in the first season too, though. The formula is the same, the only time the first season broke the fourth wall was the final episode.

Yeah I'm disappointed in this aspect of it. A big part of the charm was seeing the actors off script and the crew behind the scenes. This feels more like an actual mockumentary show than the premise it was mean to be.

SAME! The acting and script jokes are way too fake and over exaggerated. About 10 minutes into episode 1, I could tell either Anthony was aware or in on it...and it's all for tv. Idk, this dude and cast just didn't feel nearly as genuine as JD. They took it too far, trying to be too clever and funny. I was so pumped...I hate it and am sad I hate it :(

Jury Duty didn't create the novelty. The Joe Schmo show did this concept twenty years before Jury Duty did it.

I’m sorry to say it but this season sucks. I don’t believe the “temp” guy doesn’t suspect anything. He is putting on too much for the camera. I’m not buying it. What a disappointment
-2
BetaMyrceneMar 21, 2026

It is extremely fake.
I thought the first season might be real. I saw why people were skeptical, but it was possible to believe that the main guy really didn't understand what was happening.
This season is obviously fake. The company isn't believable. The temp guy Anthony is a good actor, but I can tell that everything he says is scripted.
There is also *so* much product placement this time around, which bothers me. So many scenes about chips.
I do think some of the writing is funny, though. I've laughed a few times. I'm just watching it as a scripted show.

About 10 min into episode 1 during the same day, Anthony's shirt suddenly changes from from white to black without explanation. It felt so fake and ruin the entire season for me.

He mentions in the car on the way to the retreat that he’s only been working there three days before they left. I think everything before the retreat is from those first days so he changed his clothes each day and since there’s nothing important sequentially going (he’s just doing prep work and the office chugs along) the shots all just from all three days.

He joined one day before the retreat. It was literally on screen 'One day before the retreat'.

That’s editing. It has nothing to do with it being real or fake. It’s how they’ve edited the footage they’ve attained.

I feel like you literally are in my head. I’m in the exact situation. I do have a question about do the “cast” purposefully “set up” gags? Like is our guy being “manipulated”. Idk if that makes sense. Or are the other actors so much in character that they just play into it and the “out” guy is part of the chaos?

I enjoyed jury duty moderately, but I genuinely think it would've just worked better as a regular sitcom without the reality show element.

I'll eventually watch it. The first season screwed me up a little watching other tv because you start thinking of everyone else as actors.
