I've been eyeing The Boys for a few months now because I kept seeing cast interviews in yt and ig, and thought that they look fun. I'm into action/superhero/drama/comedy genre, and so i feel like I will love it.
However, I see some people saying that things get "weird" in that show. For instance, I saw this female character offering Homelander "milk", and saw some comments how they feel for the actor who played The Deep because of the things he had to do for some scenes in Season 2/3. And I'm sure there's more. I'm just wondering if these "scenes" might ruin the show for me, because I can't truly enjoy the show if they just keep throwing random ahh scenes that are unnecessary for the plot, and based from the comments I keep seeing, it seems like there are a lot of it on the show.
EDIT:
Thank you to those who actually shared their insights. I posted this obviously to get a good idea if it's actually worth watching, despite the criticisms. I don't have all the time in the world to watch all shows blindly, so weighing the good and bad aspects beforehand is important for me :)
My god posts like this just display how infantile the originator is.
No one cares if you watch this show, bud.

In the few months it’s taken you to think about it, you could’ve just watched it several times over.

Use your eyes and watch it yourself and decide if it's for you

I'm assuming that you're an adult. In partaking in such an assumption I'm going to not oblige you and tell you to be an adult and make your own decisions.

Ass. The word is ass. Talk like an adult and not a semi sentient Tik Tok account.
No one cares what you watch. Leave us out of your crowdsourcing.

5th season and you still can't decide...? Do you know if you like salt or sugar yet, or do you need more testimonials...???

"I'm into action/superhero/drama/comedy genre"
so you should maybe give the most popular show that is a mix of those genres a try.

Try the first episode, if you don't like it watch something else.
That should be easy.

Decide for yourself honestly. The show does have some scenes that feel random because its an over the top satire, but its a really good one and most scenes for make sense in the context of the show. And the show is easing into the weird stuff, its not that weird from the start.

Just watch it or don't lol
Season 1 is great.
Diminishing returns after that but it's still fun.

The Boys is probably one of the best displays of satirical surrealism of the mainstream political and corporate culture of society through super heroes. If you can’t get through the gory blood scenes or a couple weird sex scenes, you’re missing out.

Just give it a shot you’ll know pretty quickly if it’s your thing. Nothing is going to “convince you” you like something better than tasting it.
“Convince me to try pizza” just try the damn pizza lol
But yeah the boys is a good show, if you’re into that kinda show.

Honestly, just watch it. Is it consistent all the way through? No. Are there some pretty wild/gross/shocking scenes? Yes. I don’t think there is any show where every second is great.

watch the show to get own view or read what other people comment on it (and not so conclusive reviews)
people have different opinions, you might reach different view
time? we all got time.

It's a TV show, which is a digressive, expansive format. Excluding things because they're "unnecessary for the plot" is for movies, because sometimes things are necessary for the tone, the characters, the theme, or sometimes just for a laugh.
Stick to movies if you're so skittish. Alternately, look shows up on something like decider dot com.

The “weird” stuff is mostly there to show how messed up celebrity/superhero culture is, not just shock for shock’s sake. Try one episode, if you like Homelander’s creepiness, you’re in.

watch the first episode and if you like it and are interested watch more. In the few months you've been thinking about it you could have your answer by now

I can’t convince you. It’s a pretty unhinged show. I’m sure season 5 is liberal propaganda

No. Its brand is shock that makes it different to marvel and dc offerings. If you don’t want to watch it and see a lot of pop culture and politics made fun of that’s fine
