I just don't see how you pull this off. Nothing interesting happens in this book, it's just incredible prose.
Seems like such an undertaking to try to make a version that works on screen that I can't see why it'd be worth it. Not like it's a big draw anymore.

The Corrections is one of my favorite books but I really feel this is a prime example of some stories only working in one medium.

Cord Jefferson is already a sure thing. Throw in Meryl Streep and wowza.

I hope they ignore the books and make this an homage to Seth Meyers

Cord Jefferson saved us from Nolan winning an Oscar for Screenplay.
He deserves the world.

Nolan still won the Oscar, and it was deserved.
Stay mad.

> Stay mad.
I don't know why there's such a big overlap between Christopher Nolan fans and this brand of smug aggressive listnookor who finds joy at the idea of other people being mad just because they have different opinions about movies

You don't know the whole story so I understand this kind of response.
This person is known for being extreme Nolan hater. I recognized him from different subs. He usually likes trashing Nolan and constantly comparing him to Paul Thomas Anderson.
It's not even that, he can't even praise other directors without bringing down Nolan. He didn't even need to mention him rn, he could have just praise a Jefferson.
While I understand that Nolan fans can be very annoying, there has been a loud group of Nolan haters on Listnook lately and they can be very annoying too.
r/Letterboxd kinda hates Nolan. Whenever someone say they like something from him gets downvoted.

Yet he couldn't sweep for Screenplay like PTA, the Coens, or Baker did.

I love when pasta-brained takes like this bleed out of sports sublistnooks and enter other ones. “Oppenheimer didn’t even sweep the Academy Awards” is like the “None of LeBron’s rings count because he had too much help” of film opinions

And?
What is the point you are trying to make?
Lawrence of Arabia didn't win screenplay either yet it's one of the most beloved BP winners ever.
Oppenheimer is still one of the best films of this decade and it won 7 Oscars. It's also one of the highest grossing BP winners ever. Not sure I can say the same for films of those directors you mentioned that won BP.

Because, as we all know, a movie that made a lot of money is an indication of quality. You must think Transformers 2 is an all-time classic.

Give me a break.
We will see which film will age better, Oppenheimer or American Fiction.
And no I don't think Transformers 2 is the best film of all time, you couldn't find better argument lol?
I mentioned BO performance of Oppenheimer to point out what films of those directors don't have just like you mentioned the Oscar for screenplay as a measure of quality.
If we are being honest neither of those really matters. Many great films in history lost the Oscar.
If the winning the Oscar for screenplay is the only reason you can find why OBAA, Anora, NCFOM are better, then Oppenheimer is safe because it's really stupid and pointless reason.
