TLDR: Yes, courts take into account rehabilitation efforts during a DUI case.

I hope she gets well, but this is very standard legal maneuvering. I follow true crime as a hobby (it's weird, I know, leave me alone) and you see stuff like this all the time. Weinstein suddenly needed a walker and Russel Brand suddenly needed a bible when it came time to appear at trial. Judges and juries are human. Optics are important. This doesn't make Spears a bad person, but it also doesn't necessarily mean she's serious about getting well.

Anyone struggling with alcohol addiction, please look into naltrexone and the Sinclair Method. It can actually take away the desire to drink. I have 8 years alcohol free thanks to [this method.](https://www.trytsm.org)
